The most impressing thing about the ship for me personally is the deck armor. I tested it with friends and its like invulnerable against 2000lb bombs. But the crazy thing is that it even survived every FAB-5000 when hitting on the main turrets (but only there)

@@kkang2828 Idk, it seem to do something with bombs in naval altogether. They never behaved "normally" in naval to begin with, being either too strong (il-2 sinking cruisers with 4 50kgs) or too weak (as of now). + I used nuke a couple of times today, and by some reason it doesnt create an explosion (but deals damage anyway, you just dont see it outside of enemy DM).
I hope this means we can get Tennessee soon, maybe by the June update. The best aspects of Nevada and Mississippi together will make a very strong ship, certainly one of the best of all dreadnoughts, and it even gets reasonable bridge armor. I would prefer they gave the 14”/50 1.75rpm but I think it can still work without it.

But I also don’t think the fairly thin ones on the standards do that much against the better guns we are getting now. At least it felt that way shooting other standards with Mississippi today. I think the 5”/38s will more than make up for losing it, since the 5”/25 isn’t ideal. Plus there’s still Idaho at least
Seasoned naval player here, I’d rate this thing a “why isn’t it in the normal tech tree/10” The amount of things wrong with this ship and US naval astounds me, Gaijin holds any bug reports on US ships to the highest levels of scrutiny and even if it does pass their “standards” they’ll just reject any reports about USN ships. We’ve been waiting for two years for the 14 inch dreadnoughts in the US tree to get their historic shells and reloads and so far nothing. Mississippi should’ve been added as a normal tech tree vessel with USS Indianapolis being made the event ship (I suspect that this was the case but Gaijin likely reasoned they’d make better returns making Mississippi an event ship), as well it’s missing not only it’s 35 second reload but it’s common shells for the secondary guns. As well, the HE bug still exists and practically any ship with HE can just pound your secondary guns into crew killing you or a magical HE fragment from a Renown’s 4.5 inch gun sets off your entire forward magazine. For those looking for a serious review of this ship, it plays just like USS Arizona with punchier guns, better AA and better armor. It’s slow as the snail’s ability to reason with the playerbase but it’ll be a good grinder with an ace crew/talisman. This gamemode is a joke, and so is Gaijin.
I put a talisman on HMS Renown, researched rank 4,5 and most of rank 6, and got an ace crew for it Mississippi has basically 2 HMS Renowns, one in the front and one in the back if u split/stagger(?) ur fire in two I will keep Even if it is much slower ....

The Arizona is good, but even tho the Mississippi is in terms of gameplay the same you get a way better shell and almost the Alaska capacity of AA. I mean true, we may get new similar or better ships like the USS New mexico or the Colorado’s soon, but as for now (i personally) would stick with it

That thing is a fucking menace, now the US Navy has something that will withstand some decent punishment to the superfire turret and will not go to make company to USS Nevada on the bottom of the sea, I tried to kill it with Scharn, unless is at long range USS Mississippi is hard as a rock
Its actually pretty tough, the belt is a little over 400mm with the plate behind the belt included plus the space between, Angled its a very scary ship Sharn has trouble with it and other BBs slighty struggle at an angle full broad though obviously just like Nevada and Arizona easy rack
@@kesik123 I am not completely sure if this applies to the 5"25s as well, but the 5'/38 AAVT is also not bad against smaller targets, and can take out deck-mounted stuff. It is especially useful for taking out PT boats, as it takes out critical stuff even without direct hits.
@@mak5104 That's not the problem. HE-VT cannot penetrate enemy ships(not boat!). For example, when I see destroyers, if I have 5" SP Common Shell, I can sink it in an instant. But HE-VT can't do it HE-VT is just HE shells. So it cannot properly damage ships...

In game we have modules HP Damage...just look at US battleship ammo dindt detonate and you can shot from malboro and doesn't penetrate armor but ammo will be yellow then red and then detonate or you can just oneshoted us battelship from 10 km communa or marat even this guns in reality cant penetraet armor..... this is no logic here....this is stupid random like t80bvm ammo tankning and etc.... Mississipi model doesnot work well now.
