I'm a simple man. I see a Mage Knight title, I click add to cart. One of the only games that I'm always hyped to revisit the rule videos for refreshers. I hope during production, the card/token color and sizes are standardized to be similar to Ultimate Edition.

Super excited for this! Mage Knight is a long time favorite of mine and I actually never imagined it would get another expansion this far into its life.

Perfect timing! I have had MK since 2015 but avoided it after trying to learn how to play due to the vast amount of rules. Last year I was thinking of selling my copy and decided to give it one more go. Somehow this time around It clicked. I had to download some PDFs to streamline the rules and watch some videos to refresh my memory, but I fell for the game and finally understood why Solo players rave about Mage Knight. I bought up all the expansions, upgraded the minis and purchased the new 5 cards so I am playing with the ultimate version in the original box (perhaps I should have just sold the original and bought the Ultimate version). I even 3D printed a box organizer for it all. SO ya this is a day one pre-order for me.
These are absolutely breaking news! I love it. The most exciting boardgame news since a long time. Thanks Paul!

And actually the fan made campaign,The Betrayal,does it in a great way. Your score at the end of a mission is like currency. You can spend your score to buy crystals,a couple of cards,maybe a unit or even an artifact. Then you start the next mission with a few extra power ups so to speak. You'll never have enough points to get everything you want do you have to choose from mission to mission. If you keep a certain card or artifact you can even keep them at a reduced score cost. It gives you a great feeling of progress between missions. It's a fantastic way to play and even works with the Kahn expansion for Star Trek Frontiers. Now there's a game I would love to see a new expansion for.

This sounds awesome. I need to play Mage Knight more, I am one of those people how have the Ultimate Edition and I've not played it since I picked it up as I feel intimidated by learning it again.

One thing I was hoping for from this expansion was something like the Prelude expansion for Terraforming Mars that would offer a set of cards to draft to shorten playtime.

The tezla rulebook has variant options that can be played with any scenario to kickstart your starting position and reduce game rounds
New advanced actions, spells, and units is what I want most!!
Yeah that stuff is great since it affects all your games, without a lot of new rules.

Yeah, kind of a bummer to know there are no plans to add anymore of it. Let's see how how they will fill this expensive $60 box, tho!
Same with me - more artifacts, spells, advanced action cards, units, enemies would refresh the game across the board!!

I still play Mage Knight every weekend. Its the only solo game I never get tired of. Hopefully this expansion adds a lot to the solo aspect.

Great reveal. I've too many games, and haven't played beyond the base of MKUE (although it is definitely one of the best games), so wasn't planning on picking this up. However, it has certainly piqued my interest and whetted my appetite! So maybe. Sounds very interesting.
32:20 i disagree Paul. I think Lost Legions really took Mage Knight from at 9 to a 10.
Every other expansion after that wasn't necessary, but I would never play base MK without LL.
I did not ask for it. I did not wait for it. I did not expect it! But damm I so happy to hear it!

I just bought the game a couple of weeks ago and now there is going to be a new expansion. I haven't even figured out the base game yet. I might buy the expansion when it's released. Don't know yet
TBH I’m less excited about scenario. The new Mage Knight is great. But I hope to see new Units, Artifacts, Spells.

Let's keep in mind that it's priced as roughly 50% of the Ultimate Edition price, so we expect roughly 50% of the Ultimate Edition content!

I really hope they will release a new, smaller box for the game. The Ultimate Edition Box is a joke.
Yeah, I think's it unnecessarily too big, but maybe this is for the best because MAYBE the new expansion will fit in it.

Why would we want that? It's a big boardgame, that is best played on a table, on a small screen it would be a nightmare

Maybe on PC or a big tablet at minimum, but on a phone I would never touch it even for free

For me this is a valid point. Cards are fine, but miniatures and components 😵💫

@@HikeAndTrip yes. They updated the minis which look way nicer now. I think this version is from 2021, you can check the code on the back of the box, above the barcode. There is a BGG thread with images.
