This, to me, is one of the classiest gospel groups ever. When I see and listen to the Sensational Nightingales the first thing I think of is pure class and pureness of music.

I can imagine you may have heard them when the masterful Julius Cheeks sang lead. I have the LP album Songs of Praise where the group led by Cheeks first recorded Live So God Can Use You. The bass singer was a phenomenal artist, singing a unique style I never heard before or since and I have been a student of quartet gospel singing since 1962. Early in their career I read where they named themselves similar to the Dixie Hummingbirds, great and recognized quartet competitor. There goal was to make the Hummingbirds "sit down," a friendly competition I suspect. If you ever heard Songs of Praise or some of their other tunes, like Vacant Room in Glory or Canaan Land you just might have asked the Hummingbirds to please be seated. :}

My son wrote an article when writing for Atlanta Consttitution. Traveled with them for more a week. When they came to Tallahassee I baked them a great pound cake for the road. The nicest group I met. Very spiritual. Joe Wallace is so respectful and religious.

Being saved is a permit to get into Heaven, But if you can't walk the walk and talk the talk If you can't then you better check your heart and see where you are in your ! MY JESUS SAYS YOU MUST WALK THE WALK and give up all your sins. just being saved is not enough. God said to pray with out ceasing. the world may turn their backs on you for living for the lord, but it will be worth it after all. wish I had room to preach on here I have a lot to say. and yes I am preaching to myself.
