@richardharden8233 I agree, it was very sad and scary and at the same time, it made me wonder where he was going to take the bomb and put it and how he was going to get back down to the ground since it seems like he can only go up without going down. Unless he knew the polarized power will disappear from him soon and he would slowly be lowered down to the ground.
@@georgemercer402 That's true but, if a funeral was held for him, it would have to be without his body since if he really did die, his body would have been blown to pieces. For this movie, the only ones who would attend the funeral are the bank staff. Or they would have a Memorial Service for him which would be a small service with each person saying something about him where Charlotte would have said how much he tried his best to keep the bank clean as the janitor, Mr. Pendlesmythe would have said that he applied as a bank clerk and he would have been a great bank clerk, Chuck and Bobby would have said what a great employee, friend, and next door neighbor Ernest was to them. However, I would guess if Bobby would have said that he should have said something about his suspicion about Nash being an imposter since the moment he saw Nash, he suspected it wasn't Ernest realizing Ernest has a new hairstyle (which he probably never changes), Ernest wasn't wearing his brimmed hat which he always wears (Nash made an excuse that he lost it), and Ernest had a different voice which Nash says was laryngitis where Bobby could say that if he said something earlier about his suspicion, Ernest wouldn't have died and they could have had Nash put back in jail.
Even as a 38-year-old, I tend to avoid Ernest Goes to Camp because it's hard watching Ernest get realistically hurt when most of the time it's just for laughs. When he's thought to have died, even those who thought of him as a knucklehead still cared. Then and now, Ernest P. Worrell was that friend who may have talked too much or thought he had a better deal than you, but he was still a loyal friend worth having and I think that's why so many fans still miss him.
Jim Varney doesn’t get the credit he deserves. I know not everyone was fond of the Ernest character, but Varney himself was an amazing character actor.

Jim Varney was a fine actor and we lost him too soon in 2000 at the age of 50. He was an important part of my childhood and I will always have a special place in my heart for The lovable Ernest P. Whorl.
I saw this like 20 times when I was less than ten years old. I'm 35 now. Haven't seen these scenes since. It's very weird how I still remember each little detail and still get the same feeling.
I'm glad the TV versions insert the extra scene where we see Ernest did get that job promotion at the end. He got a slight shock from his computer because Bobby and his brother installed a new function to prevent the bank from being robbed. He tested out to see if he was magnetized, but he wasn't (yet), and then we see the metal filing cabinets start creeping up behind him, and he takes off yelling. I think that scene worked better at the end of the movie.
7:56---Earnest does his Nash voice when he says "I came, I saw, I got blown up" right after he kills Nash!! Unless Mr Nash said "I came, I saw, I got blown up!"

As Bobby said "freeze punk make your play" from 1:03-1:06, he probably should have had his gun out and pointing it to Nash when saying it and he could have shot and burned Nash as Chuck said "burn him."

@@brianb.8295 That could be true but, Nash wasn't bleeding and if he really did bleed after falling headfirst, that would be a good reason for Ernest to say "ew."
