Hi Isaac! Hahahaha! Ms. Lulu always tells me, "if your subscribers only saw you like I see you every day, they wouldn't think you're so tranquil!" I'm not like Bob Ross in real life, but I sure loved that guy too! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Eric, most of the complaints about fishy taste is not because it's a bass or even a cat fish - it's what they eat (aka biomagnification) and the algae types and amounts which the minnows and other "food" items have consumed prior to their being eaten themselves. Stock up the freezer before the sunlight causes algae blooms, or wait until about 4-6 weeks after, and I'm sure you'll appreciate the taste of about anything swimming in quality waters. Hope this helps you.
Hi Jim! The camera angles sometimes require many different tripod setups. The clips are often many minutes apart. But in editing I string them together to look like one quick sequence! LOL!! Thanks loads for watching and for the good words!!!!
Hi Snoozey!! Up in Finland, it's often very cold! So I'm so glad I can make you feel cozy! Seriously, you are very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Juanelo, you are a treasure to the TH-cam community!! your happiness and love is so inspiring. You and that fabulous miss cheeks are the most lovely people around! If only half this worlds people lived and loved like you, we would be in such a better place! This is ASMR at its best. Much love to you my friend! ❤️
Hi Jason! Aww man, you are too kind! We have our faults, especially me, when off camera! LOL! Just ask Ms. Lulu! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend! All the best to you and yours!
Mr Juanelo those sandwiches looked scrumptious ! Nothing beats a good sandwich! Even the low carb bread looked good ! You really do have such a wonderful , concise presentation in your videos, really easy to follow the recipes! All my best to the lovely Ms Lulu! Thanks so much for another superb video!
Hi Catyear! When I lightly toast this bread, it's indistinguishable from regular bread! You're so kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Ms. Lulu is smiling and saying, "Hi, Catyear!"
Hey John! That was another fun filled day of fishing and I enjoyed watching you pull those bass in. Plastic worm fishing for bass has always been one of my favorite ways to catch bass. That was a mighty fine looking fish sandwich you put together there as well! LOL @ Lulu! I always love hearing what her comeback is going to be :)
Hi Rus! At this time of the year, anyone could catch fish in Lake Ketchabigwon. But plastic worms have always been the most effective lures! The recipe was spot on, it worked! The fish sandwiches with slaw turned out very tasty! Ms. Lulu loved everything! Too bad she is not so in love with the idea of marrying me! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!!
What a great day you had for fishing John. Your fish sandwich looks amazing. Oh how I like coleslaw. I bet Miss Lulu loves all your cooking. You two are just so darn cute. Tell Miss Lulu that pink is a lovely color on her. Hugs to you both, Brenda and Chris
Hi Brenda! I only wish you liked fish because this fish sandwich turned out even better than I had hoped! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my dear friend! Ms. Lulu thanks you immensely for your compliment! All the best to you and Chris! HUGS!
What an awesome video!! Nice bass and good looking sandwiches!! Juanelo your grass is beautiful and green !! By the way have a great day and tell Ms.Lulu I said "Hi"
Hi Juan! It was still spring when I shot this video a couple of weeks ago, and everything was especially green and attractive! The sandwich recipe worked out great for us, so its now a keeper! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Ms. Lulu says, "Hi Juan!!"
Hi Ratdog! We loved these sandwiches! It came from studying many fish sandwich recipes. Nope, I can never get the best of Lulu! She is too sharp for me! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hello from Guelph, Ontario! Juanelo, thank you for making your youtube videos! I feel very relaxed when I watch your videos- you have a very calming persona. Your videos inspire me to find a balance between work and play, and to work towards something I am passionate about. Thanks again,
Hi Ben! You're too kind! I'm just so glad I could bring some relaxation and inspiration to your daily life! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for taking the time to leave the very nice comment my friend!
Always happy to see your uploads, thanks for sharing! Also I like finding the rare episodes in which you bend the rules on fish length for the sake of getting enough fish for the recipe
What a beautiful day for fishing, Juanelo! My goodness, the big bass sure were biting! I'm so impressed with your fishing physics knowledge! The fish was perfectly cooked, and that slaw recipe is a keeper! Your video shots on the lake and in the kitchen are amazing! Ms Lulu cheeks sure is cheeky with her remarks...lol.
Hi Karen! It was a perfect June day for fishing. The fish are always biting in June, so the fishing wasn't too challenging (although the camera shots were)! We loved these sandwiches with coleslaw! Ms. Lulu loved them! You are so right! I never thought of it! Ms. Cheeks is most decidedly cheeky! Maybe that's how she got her name! LOL!! She hit me with yet another zinger! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my dear friend! Have a very happy 4th of July!
Hi Michael! I'm a pretty wacky guy, so why not do some wacky fishing, and cooking for that matter! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend! Ms. Lulu says, "hi, Michael!"
It's either culling small bass or the comeback of weeds that are doing the trick. I still catch a lot of tiny bass, but I'm definitely catching more really big ones. I hope you go fishing before it gets too cold!
Hi Michael! The sizes of the fish in the lake do seem to reflect a good balance this year! You're so kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
Loved how you transformed your bait to a senko, with fantastic results. As our great Marines say, adapt and overcome! Happy Independence Day, my friend!
Hi Jacob! When that SnapBack worm just sat there on the surface, I though, "oh no! Now what will I do to make this video conform to the script?" Enter the slip sinker! Whew! It worked! I was never a Marine, but I have new respect for them now! LOL! Thanks a million for watching my videos and leaving the kind comment my friend! Happy Independence Day to you and yours!
Very Nice Juanelo!!! You're doing a great job managing your lake. I'm going to have to give your recipe a try. It looks like a good one. Have a great week my friend.!
Hi Will! I know you'll like this recipe! The fish and sandwiches are real winners! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy 4th!
You seem like a guy who's got it all together Juanelo. I hope that in the future I can become someone as happy as you. Keep up the videos, I absolutely love them.
Hi Size! I make a point to keep smiling on camera! But I'm not always the jolliest guy in the world! LOL! Just ask Ms. Lulu! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
Hi Ray! Fishing and cooking are wonderful pastimes that you can enjoy ALL your life! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the kind comment my friend!
Hi Cheryl! Everything worked out great this day; the weather, the fishing, the recipes, and the romance! Er, well, maybe not the romance, but there's always next week to win over Ms. Lulu! Thanks so much for watching and especially for leaving the nice comment my friend!
Hi Kendall! I'm so glad you could join me fishing and cooking in the kitchen! The sandwiches did turn out great, I have to admit it! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
This one had me rocking back in my chair in utter amazement, John (I sure hope the back of this chair doesn't break)! I can only imagine how GUUD those Bass Sammies were.
Hi Dan! These sandwiches with their blackened bass inside, were ludicrously delish! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Tess! The brand of this bread is "Great Low-Carb Bread Company." I buy it from netrition.com. When lightly toasted it's just as good as any regular bread! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Capn! Aww, I produce these more to generate a smile than for any other reason! So, you made my day! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
I love big huge sandwiches with everything including the kitchen sink in them. I have been catching quite a bit of yellow perch lately. Bet they would go great in sandwiches! And sandwiches travel well to when I am out and about on the ranch. Great idear! Looks great!
Hi Aaden! From what I hear, you could down these little sandwiches in two bites! They need to make low-carb bread bigger! I would have liked to load them up more, like the way you like them! You're so LUCKY! Yellow perch are my favorite eating fish! They are all the rage in restaurants here around Lake Erie. They are perfect for sandwiches! I trust you returned from your trip well rested and invigorated! I sure do appreciate your taking the the time to tune in to my video! Thanks so much for watching my shows, and especially for the great comment my friend!
Mr J, You and the lovely Ms Cheeks NEVER fail to put a Big Ol' Smile on our faces!! Something you might want to "file" for the future - there are a multitude of companies which sell both lead and tungsten weights for inside of worms and critters so as to ad d weight, get faster sinking rates, and also not protrude which reduces snags. To help you visualize them - think of a barbed toothpick. On those floating worms - they do work on the surface. Think of a water snake and how tasty they are to those bucket mouths! Yumm.... LOL One last thing, you sir can cast! Keep 'em coming- we'll make every show! ~Tight Lines~
Hi TOO! Yes, I'm familiar with those insert weights for plastic lures. I don't have any in my tackle box, but the little 1/16 ounce slip sinker worked just fine! I figured it was a bit too bright, sunny and warm for surface fishing today, that's why I went with a weight, and it worked, right? LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the great tips and nice comment my friend! Happy 4th!
Hi Rick! The sandwiches were so simple, yet I have to agree, they were tasty! We loved them! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
Hi Dylan! I'll try my best to keep good videos coming! Since I never grew up, I feel like a kid making these shows! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Fabulous! You are very fit! Who says fishing isn't a sport? It keeps you very strong, and your recipes have me swooning!! Very nice my friend, very nice! And yes I do check out your form lol
Hi Mary! How are you my dear lady? What keeps me in shape more than fishing is running from the dock to the shore to set up the camera, turn it on, run back to the dock, get in the boat, catch a fish, run back to the shore to turn the camera off, put the camera in the boat, etc... I could use your help! LOL! But now I sit here eating M&Ms and feeling very guilty! So much for my form! You are so kind! Thanks so much for visiting me my dear friend! You're the best!
Hi Allen! Generating a smile is my goal, even more than demonstrating fishing or cooking! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
We have been eating many fish sandwiches lately, but none of them are fresh caught! YUM I am going on a vacation this summer to a place which is known to serve the best fish sandwiches in the world (we shall see!). I hope to do a copycat recipe when I return, maybe later this fall. However, it is fried, so, not low carb. Enjoyed the video very much. I know they are very hard to record and the fish splashing into the water was great footage. Too bad you can't keep all those beautiful fish!
Hi Donna! Aren't fish sandwiches wonderful? I hope you let us know if those fish sandwiches live up to their reputation! You know I'll be the most attentive viewer if you do a copycat recipe of it! Fried is great! I have low carb substitutes to use for all sorts of breading! The bigger fish that I return to the water might give me even more pleasure in the future, right? Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Juanelo! I love seeing your videos pop up in my feed, they always brighten my day! I live very far from my dad and watching your content reminds me of all the good times I had fishing with him when I was young. And your food always looks so delicious! If you ever find yourself in Sweden, get in touch and I'll treat you to some of the "interesting" fish delicacies we have here. :)
Hi Theral! I'm really very honored that I could remind you of the pleasure you had fishing with your dad! I've read that the Swedes have some wonderful fish recipes! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the invitation and very nice comment my friend!
Thanks John for the smiles, I look forward to every Sunday evening to see what you are up to each week. Hope you and the misses have a wonderful and safe Independence Day sir and a great week.....love the coleslaw recipe.....
Hi Bill! As you see, Sunday nights, we're up to no good! LOL! But the coleslaw was especially yummy! The sandwiches too! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy Independence Day to you and Bren!
After reading one of your admirers comment on your great camera angles and such............. John, I think you should do a video on how you do a video....well dang, you know what I mean....would love to see behind the scenes like how many cameras and where they are placed and how you adjust them etc...and also where you guys come up with the absolutely wonderful and hilarious closing lines.....and as a bonus how you managed to land such a lady that gives you great hugs and looks at you with such loving admiration.....all this in your spare time ya know......lol....
John, wow, great fishing clinic with your wacky rigged SnapBack worms! I've never heard of them, but since they were so durable and floated they may very well be a precursor to the current ElaZtech formula Z-Man uses in its lures. Wacky rigging is an excellent and fun way to fish and has an interesting history according to what I found: "The first plastic worms made by Nick Creme were made of such tough plastic that we all referred to them as "rubber worms". Shortly after their introduction (1949), some anglers in New Jersey would rig those nasty worms by hooking them through the midriff, leaving both ends to dangle free. For many years this was known as the Jersey Rig, and still is in certain circles. Then about 25 years later the Jersey Rig gained national prominence, but would go down in history as the Wacky Rig." (BassResource.com Forum) It is also very apparent that Lake K is a really good fishery for bass, bluegill and crappie (the only fish that matter - ha!). On to the fish sandwich recipe...excellent! Beautiful job blackening the fillets and if folks haven't had slaw on fish, they MUST try it! Ha, ha, ha, and after all that wonderful and delicious dining experience Miss Lulu knocked your lights out....again! Terrific skit; you guys are the best. Have a wonderful 4th of July and all the best to you and yours. Don, Brenda & Lorraine
Hi Don! I zoomed in on that Z-Man logo only for you! I knew you'd be interested in how this SnapBack product might relate to the origins of ElaZtech! I believe I ordered the worms from Cabella's back in '04! I had no idea whatsoever as to how wacky rigging became so popular! Your restatement of its history was utterly engrossing! It came from the Jersey Rig! Fascinating too was the story of how Nick Creme's first worms (I had known he was the inventor of plastic worms) were called "rubber worms!" I need to dig deeper now at BassResource.com forums! Jeanne and I loved these sandwiches! The recipe is as simple as can be, yet they hit the spot with their wonderful coleslaw filling! I simply combined a few recipe ideas I stumbled upon online to create the sandwiches. What a pity Ms. Lulu has such a negative attitude toward marriage, revealed by her weekly zingers! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the most interesting, kind comment my friend! All the best to you, Brenda, and sister, Lorraine! Happy Independence Day to you all! -- John & Jeanne
Very cool lure the sinker is a cool idea :) looks like beautiful day there John those few fish had a lucky escape :) loads of big fish there John the sandwiches look great thumbs up :)
Hi Kate! The sinker worked! LOL! I knew you would be rooting for the fish to be released! But I had to sacrifice some for dinner! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
Hi Kyle! When I was a young man, I found Geological Survey maps to help me find little lakes and ponds to fish! (There were no Google Maps!) I knocked on many doors to ask permission to fish. I had a half dozen great places to fish after awhile! Finally I saved up my money and we bought this place! You can do it!!!! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Anne! These sang-witches were awesome! Too bad my strategy with Ms. Cheeks wasn't as well executed! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my dear friend! Happy 4th!
MMMI love blackened bass!! That low carb bread dooesn't look half bad!! You make me crave fish! We eat quite a lot of it around here. So good and good for you! Just like your shows are! You always bring a huge smile to my face! Did I detect a satisfied smile on Miss Lulu's face with the last line there? lol Great looking sammies sweetie! BIG HUGS!!
My darling Sue!! When I see you show up and my heart skips a beat! How've you been? I have to tell you, once you lightly toast this low-carb bread, it's indistinguishable from ordinary bread! I know you eat a lot of fish up there in the NW! What a cornucopia of great seafood you have there! You're very fortunate! You know my primary goal in making videos is to generate a smile in my viewers, even above demonstrating fishing and cooking, so your kind words make my day! Lulu loves delivering her ending zingers! I think there is some truth in her words, so I need to up my game! Thank you immensely for being YOU! No one is youer that YOU, and I'm so glad of that! BIG HUGS!!
I am just obsessed with your videos. So relaxing to watch, and scratches my fishing itch when I myself can't go out to Deer Creek (Central Ohio) to fish. I love your lake, and the whole setup you have with your boat and shed. I'm so curious, what have you done for a living?? Very personal I know, but you seem fairly well off to have all that beautiful land nature around you:) Keep on fishing Juanelo!
Hi Jared! How are things down there around Deer Creek? We were very lucky 30 years ago to find this 37 acres of property with its 6 acre lake at an unbelievably low price! I'm a poor retired estate attorney. But believe me, this property was cheap! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
Hi Rona! These sandwiches were easy and delicious! I wish I could serve you some right now! If only I could reach out to the other side of the world! LOL! You are very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my dear friend!
Hi again Gravity...! I'm retired now from making videos, but I left behind hundreds of these silly episodes for you to watch, or to use them as sleep aids, like I do. 😁 Thanks so much for taking the time to leave the good words!
Hi Ross! Seeing that I'm only 71, all I can do is hope that I get around half as well when I'm in my 80s! LOL! That Reddit article had it wrong! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
Hi Scott! Fishing is always easiest in small private lakes! We were lucky to find this place 30 years ago. This was June, and the weather was outstanding! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Skip! It was a prehistoric prefab today, but that translates to a run down doublewide! LOL! She hit me with another zinger! Ouch! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy 4th!!!
Hi Jonathan! I'm so honored that I could remind you of your dad! I'll try my best to make good videos in the future! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the kind comment my friend!
Hi Markus! Your grandpa is a great guy! Say hi to him for me! I bet your daytime lasts 20 hours up there in Finland at this time of the year! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Oh man Juanelo!! The bite was on, but you either caught a nice big fish, or one of the smallest fish in the pond! The bass that hit the lure at the boat was amazing! Keep it up!!
Hi Caden! Yes, the bite was on! Perfect for my recipes would be fish just under 12 inches. But like you noticed, they were either to big or too small! It's aways great fun to actually see the fish take the lure! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Al! I'm very lucky to have a lake that's loaded with fish! You'll love the coleslaw! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the good tip my friend!
Hi Caroline! You are so kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Ms. Cheeks and I wish you and yours a very happy 4th of July holiday!
Hi DC! I feared the same thing the first time! If you don't move it for at least a minute the fish comes FREE! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Fishen! She always hits me below the belt with her zingers! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
I really, really need to give this recipe a try. Your blackened fish cooked up perfectly! I wondered when you would have to relent and keep a slightly large fish. They were really biting! A delightful video as always. Give our warmest regards to the lively Miss Lulu. 😍💕
Hi Laurice! I felt the pressure of doing a hookin' and cookin' video! If I had thrown that slightly over-sized fish back, what would I do if I couldn't catch enough small guys? I might have to forgo producing a video! The original recipes were not intended to be for sandwiches, but why not? They were so GOOD! I'm behind on watching my favorite friends' videos. You're on that list! I'm sorry for not seeing your latest one yet. I'll be over to visit soon! Thanks so much for watching my shows, and especially for the very nice comment my dear friend!
Juanelo1946 No worries at all. We've been very busy ourselves. Gilly is off house/dog sitting, so we had to scramble to get 4 videos filmed in one week, so I completely understand. I always, enjoy your videos!!
Hi Michael! Don't forget there are spring and fall in which to fish too! Some people manage to fish even in winter! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Brandon! My thinking is that doing a family friendly show isn't anymore difficult, nor does it take anything away from my videos. They're just as goofy! Thanks so much for watching and especially for leaving the nice comment my friend!
Hi Jonny! I need to mail you some fish sandwiches! Check your mail every day because fish sandwiches don't last long in the mailbox in midsummer! 😜 Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment mi amigo!!
Hi Derpin! You have to try these sandwiches! SO GOOD! Good luck fishing on the 4th! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
I just cooked and ate blackened bass tonight, too. After diner I opened up TH-cam and one of my most favorite TH-camrs has just uploaded a Blackened Bass video! (That's you BTW) Well done sir! Blackening is my favorite way to cook fish. Bass is delicious that way. But I kept the big ones and threw the small ones back. Keep trying to woo LuLu one day she'll bite too.
Hi Big Lew! WOW!! What a coincidence! I love blackened bass because the recipe is so easy! Most lakes require that you throw back the little ones. But ponds and private little lakes are the sometimes the opposite. Keep the small ones and the others will thrive! I'll win Ms. Lulu's heart yet! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Love it. Cajun cooking is very popular down here and I love my fish blackened with their spices. It may be a Southern thing, but when it comes to pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, using coleslaw is a must.
Hi TTRR! I dunno if it's a southern thing, but you are so right, coleslaw goes perfectly with pulled pork and fish! MMM! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy 4th!
John, you are one of the only guy's I know that is disappointed in catching big bass..LOL But I understand about getting the little guys out of the lake...I just love coleslaw with fish...As far as I'm concerned it's mandatory...LOL I really like your blackening technique..I need to try that for sure...I always enjoy fishing and dining with you my friend...See you next time.....
Hi Mike! You know, I have only this ONE day each week to produce a fishing-cooking video, so when I don't catch the fish I need, I worry about what I'll show the fans. Will I have to skip a weekly video? That's why I feel a bit down when I have to return a fish! There were a lot of blackened fish recipes out there, and a lot of coleslaw recipes, but none with blackened fish and coleslaw in a sandwich! Putting them together WORKED! LOL! I hope you can try this recipe! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy 4th!
Juanelo looks great! I love those circle hooks for big cats and red drum. Try Gamakatsu octopus circles in a large 5/0 size with one side sharpened. Great for big game.
Hi Matthew! I'm using Gamakatsu Octopus circle hooks here, but in little size 2! LOL! 5/0 is huge! LOL! I'll need to get hose for my channel cats! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Fuzzy! Just when I think I have only big bass left in the lake, it's guaranteed that the next outing will produce only little ones again! Thanks so much for tuning in and leaving the nice comment my friend!
Hi Tommy! We were delighted with the way the sandwiches turned out! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Didi!! These sandwiches were delightful! Again, I was lucky to find the recipe! OH YES! The daikon radish fries!!! I almost forgot! I'm afraid to ask; how did they turn out? Siempre eres tan amable mi amiga! LOL! Muchísmas gracias!
Yes! I'll take a couple! When you toast the bread, it's carmelization which is sugar which is why bread tastes better toasted! I agree! Our Chico is so scared of fireworks tonight, he is hiding out under my pit. Poor little skipper lol Great sandwiches man two big thumbs up!Happy 4th too! Any big plans?
Hi Joel! You could eat 5 of these little fish sandwiches and I'd be happy to make them up for you! They were great with the slaw in them! So is that why toasted bread tastes so much better? I never would-a thought of that! Aww your poor Chico!!! We have cats that are, well, scaredy cats, but I haven't heard a boom yet! Tomorrow we go out to dinner, not too far away, and now we are asking ourselves whether we're too old to watch the fireworks after? LOL! Still undecided! I know you'll see the fireworks! You did last year! I remember! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend! Happy 4th of July to you and your good lady!
Hi SwordChux! We loved these sandwiches! Bread is usually off limits as you already know, but this bread is VERY low carb, 1 gram per slice! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi TMS! Hahaha! Bass are so dumb! They didn't realize that I broke all the rules for rigging that plastic worm! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Sandwiches are the best way to eat on the move! Err....or standing up :) Beautiful fish you pulled up, yeah gotta release the big ones. Oh apple cider vinegar....you are my hero! Coleslaw mix and cilantro......delicia! What a feast in the making, Juanelo. Blackened fish on that wonderful toast looked fantastic. Yum! So golden, so tasty. Aww.....she shot you down again. Ahh well, no worries, there is always a tomorrow, si?
John, tocayo, each time I return a big fish to the water I think of how much bigger it'll be next summer! The size of the bass does seem to be trending upward. [Fingers crossed]. I simply followed the blackened bass recipe and the coleslaw recipe. Neither of those recipes were intended to be used in a sandwich. That was my idea. Why not?! It worked!! I think Ms. Lulu has a slightly negative outlook on marriage. You know me. I'm not giving up! It's a matter of time, and she'll be mine, maybe in the next episode? LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for taking the time to leave the very nice comment my friend!
Oh that sky! and that beautiful lake - oh you live in sucha beautiful place! ug - throwing back that 13 incher! oh that would have been so dang harD! Dang 14 inches!!! heart break! lol oh what a beautiful sunset! I wondered how you were gunna do the bread - thats great you found some :) mmm - dog-gone that fish looks so good - that sandwich looked so great!
Hi Miss Judy! Yes it was hard to throw the bigger fish back because at the time, I never know if I'll catch enough keepers to do the recipe and the weekly show! The low-carb bread is great, when lightly toasted! Everything worked out well in this show, ah except for the zinger Ms. Lulu hits me with! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my dear friend!
Please forgive me - but I must admit something - I rarely watch that last minute of your videos - please forgive me... It just hurts my heart when anyone is mean to you - and I know it is all in jest and just fun and it isnt meant in a mean way - but it just hurts my heart... Im sorry
I found a simple low carb recipe recently that we enjoyed with bluegill fillets. You simply role them in a mixture of almond flour and coconut flour and the skillet fry.
Hi Roadrunner! Yes! I have used coconut and almond flour in loads of recipes, right here on my channel. One of the easiest and best was this: th-cam.com/video/_zpQH9ksMO8/w-d-xo.html. Recently I've been favoring almond flour over coconut flour because coconut flour is so much more absorbent it can be difficult to use, whereas almond flour acts more like regular AP flour! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the great comment my friend!
Hi Nick! It does seem that the size of the bass are trending upward! I'm hoping this day wasn't just an anomaly! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy 4th to you too!!!
Hi Jeff! This is one of the best recipes I stumbled upon and it worked great for us! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Mina! Butter is quite acceptable on low carb diets! I hope you try this! The recipe is a keeper! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
I was going to say that 7" worm is attracting larger bass. You downsized it and caught more smaller ones. I bet you had fun catching those larger ones anyway. Really nice tasty looking fish sandwiches The wrong house. Zing!
Hi Steve! You known, I never even thought of that, but you're right! When I took the ribbon tail off that worm, the fish were smaller, perfect for eating! I sure didn't plan that! LOL! The sandwiches were great! Catching fish is always fun! Catching another zinger from Lulu, not so nice! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Tom! I was thinking that might be the case too! I was wondering what I was going to do for dinner! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Absolutely love all your videos. You're so positive and happy that I tune in if I ever need a pick-me-up. Have you ever had an estimate of how many fish are in your lake? How many do you take each year... and do you have to stock the lake to keep the numbers up? I'd love to see you do a fish pie recipe. I made a paleo friendly one with sweet potatoes, but if you were aiming for low carb I'm sure you could use mashed cauliflower instead!
Hi Dothomir! I tried to conduct a semi-scientific survey of the "catchable" bass in my lake over a period of about 6 years. I did it in accordance with a pond management book. I marked the tails of all the bass I caught with a paper hole puncher. The tails healed over quickly but left a noticeable scar. I then marked down each time I recaptured a marked fish versus those caught that were still unmarked. The final results were that there were well over 2,500 catchable bass in the lake. Even if I were to remove 100 or bass from the lake in a year (a high estimate), I wouldn't harm the population. Nature has a way of filling any void anyway, as more fish would survive through reproduction! I have never supplemented the numbers of bass or bluegill in the 30 years we've owned the lake. WOW! Fish pie? I've never heard of it before but I will surely look into it! Yup, mashed cauliflower might work! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the great comment my friend!
You can never have too much tartar sauce or coleslaw in my opinion. So, those fish sandwiches would work for me! As to coming home to the man who would "give you a little love and attention and tenderness"...well...here's my advice. Kick that up a notch or two and Ms. Lulu will be yours! I humbly submit that I am pretty good at that attention and tenderness stuff. I can give you references. Should you need help, my fees are reasonable. I might just settle for that fish sandwich as payment!! Love your videos John! Honestly, I look forward to every Sunday evening. I sometimes don't know what day it is but then I think..."OMG it's Juanelo Day"! Even Dorothy reminds me that there's a Juanelo video coming up today. A million thanks for what you do! It's so great to have something happy and fun to look forward to.
Hi Terry! "I humbly submit that I am pretty good at that attention and tenderness stuff..." Oh, oh! I hope Ms. Lulu doesn't see this! I can almost hear her now, "SEE?? See, how nice Terry is?" LOL! I'll call your office for a SECRET appointment! I'll bring several fresh fish sandwiches! Oh my, Terry, you are just too kind with your comments! I'm framing them! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for all your kindness my friend!
Hi Chase! I do remember them! Uncle Josh pork strips is what I used to use. I'd attach them to the back hook of a Johnson spoon. I don't think they make them anymore. They worked OK, but I don't have them. Thanks so much for watching my videos! Thanks even more for the kind words my friend!
Hi Linda! Great to see you here! It's hard to beat your own freshly caught fish! The sandwiches were amazing! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Looks like your culling technique is making for some nice bass. Great recipe! I recently stocked a spring fed mountain pond of my friends with 50 nice trout. I think the snapping turtles got most of them as only a few come to feed in the evenings. I have caught 2 large snappers out of there so far. Hopefully I can try again in the fall.
Hi MrOldclunker! Some days, like this, it seems that culling is having a great effect. The next day it's back to catching mini-bass! LOL! I've been trout fishing only a dozen times or so, but I've had fun. I hope your remaining trout survive the summer! In my (reservoir) pond, the experts told me that trout would die in the summer. It's a put and take proposition. But your spring fed pond might be cool enough! I hope! Fall is a great time to restock! Good luck! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi Tyhone! Yes, it does seem that the fish are trending bigger this year, so Lake Ketchabigwon is living up to its name! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Hi dxer! I try to do what is best for this little lake. The biologists have told me that it is better to return the big fish. You would love these fish sandwiches. I wish I could serve you some! Thanks so much for watching my videos and for the kind words my friend!
That low carb bread looked really good John! Your fish and coleslaw filling was on point! I'm going on a little family holiday the next few days, hopefully they have a place where they sell fish so I can make these! since it is a great idea for lunch or dinner! :-)
Hi Julia! It's so nice to see you! How've you been? You would love these sandwiches! We sure did! This recipe would work with any kind of fish! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Have a super great time with your family!
You are the Bob Ross of fishing! So relaxing to watch!
Hi Isaac! Hahahaha! Ms. Lulu always tells me, "if your subscribers only saw you like I see you every day, they wouldn't think you're so tranquil!" I'm not like Bob Ross in real life, but I sure loved that guy too! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
You are my absolute favorite TH-camr. The production quslity is fantastic and you are very entertaining.
Hi Dasherli! Aww, you are too kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Juanelo1946 you are good at fishing
I always love watching your videos
Hi Beb! You're very nice! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the good words my friend!
Juanelo1946 Your videos is something i look forward to seeing ...one question..IS BASS FISHY TASTING?
Eric, most of the complaints about fishy taste is not because it's a bass or even a cat fish - it's what they eat (aka biomagnification) and the algae types and amounts which the minnows and other "food" items have consumed prior to their being eaten themselves. Stock up the freezer before the sunlight causes algae blooms, or wait until about 4-6 weeks after, and I'm sure you'll appreciate the taste of about anything swimming in quality waters. Hope this helps you.
Eric Villasenor yes I eat bass and I love them
That was a great video! I'm amazed at how well you film all of those fishing scene's by yourself. You caught some pretty nice one's as well!
Hi Jim! The camera angles sometimes require many different tripod setups. The clips are often many minutes apart. But in editing I string them together to look like one quick sequence! LOL!! Thanks loads for watching and for the good words!!!!
Don't give up on her she seems like she's sweet on you too
Huge fan from finland!! Can't wait for your next video, your videos make me cozy !
The blackened bass looks great! I don't think you will ever beat Lulu in a war of words! Tight lines my friend.
Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for taking the time to leave the very nice comment my friend!
another fine video Juanelo. I watched this as I was having my own supper this evening. thanks for a good watch!
Hi Hellegion! I hope you enjoyed your supper! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Always happy to see your uploads, thanks for sharing!
Also I like finding the rare episodes in which you bend the rules on fish length for the sake of getting enough fish for the recipe
Hi Nolan! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Haven't missed a video. I sure do enjoy the wacky fishing an cooking. But most enjoyable thing for me is the love you guys have
Hi Michael! I'm a pretty wacky guy, so why not do some wacky fishing, and cooking for that matter! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend! Ms. Lulu says, "hi, Michael!"
Great job God bless you both, allways looks so good, thank you for your video
Hi Kelly! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the nice comment my friend! All the best to you!
Just be glad that all those 13+ inches means that the fish are getting healthier and bigger, and that the lake is getting better!
It's either culling small bass or the comeback of weeds that are doing the trick. I still catch a lot of tiny bass, but I'm definitely catching more really big ones. I hope you go fishing before it gets too cold!
Another great video. I think you found the perfect balance of big an small bass in your lake . You sir make My day by just watching you fish
When i grow older, I want this exact life! Keep the videos coming man, you do a great job!
Hi Ray! Fishing and cooking are wonderful pastimes that you can enjoy ALL your life! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the kind comment my friend!
Looks like a beautiful day! Nice catch too!YUM....I'll take one or two of those sandwiches!!! That Cole slaw looks delicious too
Hi Cheryl! Everything worked out great this day; the weather, the fishing, the recipes, and the romance! Er, well, maybe not the romance, but there's always next week to win over Ms. Lulu! Thanks so much for watching and especially for leaving the nice comment my friend!
the production quality on these videos is unexpectedly good
Hi CTT! You're so kind! I try hard to make the videos watchable. Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
John, I really enjoyed this video! It's so fun watching you fish. That fish sandwich looks super good.
I'll say YES to that fish sandwich. Looks yummy! I am going to search out some low carb bread. I love your humor Lulu :) You both take care.
Hi Tess! The brand of this bread is "Great Low-Carb Bread Company." I buy it from netrition.com. When lightly toasted it's just as good as any regular bread! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
*Happy weekend to our great friend and may you catch tons and tons of fish*
Hi TYG! *Thank you a million for watching my shows and for the good words my friend!°
I love watching you enjoy fishing and cooking. Thanks for making such high quality videos!
Hi Vincent! You are very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the really nice comment my friend!
Your videos always make me smile! Thank you Juanelo.
Mr J,
You and the lovely Ms Cheeks NEVER fail to put a Big Ol' Smile on our faces!!
Yumm.... LOL
One last thing, you sir can cast!
Happy 4th!
John your blacken bass sandwiches looked absolutely delicious and the coleslaw was amazing creamy great meal my friend.
Hi Rick! The sandwiches were so simple, yet I have to agree, they were tasty! We loved them! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
your videos are so much fun! makes me feel like a kid again watching early morning fishing shows haha, keep em coming!!
Hi Dylan! I'll try my best to keep good videos coming! Since I never grew up, I feel like a kid making these shows! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
hey juanelo! nice bass! the sandwiches made my mouth water. thanx as always for posting another fun video!
Hi Freeb! These sandwiches were awesome! I got lucky again!
Your videos have become a surefire way of making me smile! Keep up the excellent work. :)
Hi Allen! Generating a smile is my goal, even more than demonstrating fishing or cooking! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
We have been eating many fish sandwiches lately, but none of them are fresh caught! YUM
I am going on a vacation this summer to a place which is known to serve the best fish sandwiches in the world (we shall see!).
Hey! been watching your videos for a few years now and love them!
so many good recipes. I wish I had a lake with so many bass in it around me
Great video my friend.
Spectacular Sammie and the banter between you two at the end never disappoints.
Hi Anne! These sang-witches were awesome! Too bad my strategy with Ms. Cheeks wasn't as well executed! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my dear friend! Happy 4th!
I always love a good sangwitch.
😜
Another great video with a great looking recipe. Great job Mr.Juanelo
Hi Connor! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
I love fish sandwiches.. For sure yours sandwiches is very delicious because the fish is very fresh.. Thank you for sharing.. Your the best chef J.
Hi Rona! These sandwiches were easy and delicious! I wish I could serve you some right now! If only I could reach out to the other side of the world! LOL! You are very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my dear friend!
I'm so glad I stumbled on this channel, I rarely if ever follow but you deserve it.
Hi again Gravity...! I'm retired now from making videos, but I left behind hundreds of these silly episodes for you to watch, or to use them as sleep aids, like I do. 😁 Thanks so much for taking the time to leave the good words!
You get around so good for a guy in his 80's! Great job man!
Hi Ross! Seeing that I'm only 71, all I can do is hope that I get around half as well when I'm in my 80s! LOL! That Reddit article had it wrong! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the very nice comment my friend!
The lake and weather look great. It really looks like all the fish in your lake will bite on just about anything!
Hi Scott! Fishing is always easiest in small private lakes! We were lucky to find this place 30 years ago. This was June, and the weather was outstanding! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Just love! all your videos both fishing and cooking. Keep it up!
Hi John! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
the wrong house - slammed again in your run down double-wide, ha ha. great video Juanelo - keep em coming brother!
Hi Skip! It was a prehistoric prefab today, but that translates to a run down doublewide! LOL! She hit me with another zinger! Ouch! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy 4th!!!
This is awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed it, felt like I was out on the water with my dad. Keep up the great work!
Hi Jonathan! I'm so honored that I could remind you of your dad! I'll try my best to make good videos in the future! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the kind comment my friend!
Hey Juanelo! Great video! Also, the food looks amazing thank you for entertaining me once again!
Hi 614! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my Ohio friend!
"that was fun the look at..."

Hi Markus! Your grandpa is a great guy! Say hi to him for me! I bet your daytime lasts 20 hours up there in Finland at this time of the year! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
YOUR VIDEOS ARE WONDERFUL AND SO ARE YOUR KETO RECIPES. THANK YOU SO MUCH. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Hi Grandma Liz! You are as nice as they come! We sure do appreciate your visiting us and especially your kindness! All the best to you and yours!
Juanelo! love your videos, thanks so much for making them and keeping me entertained!
Hi james! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Lots of big fish on this video! Thank you for the coleslaw dressing recipe.
Hi Al! I'm very lucky to have a lake that's loaded with fish! You'll love the coleslaw! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the good tip my friend!
Best part of Sunday nights! Happy Independence Day Juanelo and Miss Cheeks!
Hi Caroline! You are so kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Ms. Cheeks and I wish you and yours a very happy 4th of July holiday!
I was sure that fish was going to completely stick to that skillet. Nope. It's well seasoned and the fish looked great.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi DC! I feared the same thing the first time! If you don't move it for at least a minute the fish comes FREE! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Lol. That was great! Your wife and you are too funny! keep it up!
I always, enjoy your videos!!
nice video.....please make more... I'm gonna go fishing because it's summer......keep up the good work!!!!
Hi Michael! Don't forget there are spring and fall in which to fish too! Some people manage to fish even in winter! LOL! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Juanelo u always post good kid friendly content and are always having fun doing what u like
Hi Brandon! My thinking is that doing a family friendly show isn't anymore difficult, nor does it take anything away from my videos. They're just as goofy! Thanks so much for watching and especially for leaving the nice comment my friend!
I'm very hungry, looks delicious! I need this now😃
Hi Jonny! I need to mail you some fish sandwiches! Check your mail every day because fish sandwiches don't last long in the mailbox in midsummer! 😜 Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment mi amigo!!
Thanks for the recipe! just in time for my all day 4th of july fishing trip!
Happy 4th!
i love your videos and wait for them non stop. thank you for the wonderful content!
Hi 2Guys! You are really very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
This man has made my day for 3 years
Hi TNF! You are too kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Looks like your conservation efforts are paying off with all those big fish you're catching!
Hi Fuzzy! Just when I think I have only big bass left in the lake, it's guaranteed that the next outing will produce only little ones again! Thanks so much for tuning in and leaving the nice comment my friend!
I always enjoy watching your video's the sandwiches look very good. Thank you for the video's
Hi Tommy! We were delighted with the way the sandwiches turned out! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
That intro where you drop your rod makes me laugh all the time. Cool videos sir. Definitely subscribing.
Hi Ali!! I'm a klutz, what can I say? LOL!! Thank you loads for the visit and for subscribing! I especially appreciate your good words my friend!
This looks so delicious juanelo. I made the daikon radish fries today. Love watching your videos always. Gracias.
Keep up the good work! These videos are great! I stay low-carb too, and I can't wait to try this one out. :)
Hi SwordChux! We loved these sandwiches! Bread is usually off limits as you already know, but this bread is VERY low carb, 1 gram per slice! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
wacky riged a bait thats made to be texas riged and used a circle hook..... and it got fish i love it! great video!!
Hi TMS!
Juanelo: Another great video -- the bass are getting bigger in Lake Ketchabigwon! Hope you and Ms. Lulu Cheeks have a nice 4th of July!
Hi Nick! It does seem that the size of the bass are trending upward! I'm hoping this day wasn't just an anomaly! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend! Happy 4th to you too!!!
Great video as always, and a fantastic looking recipe!
Hi Jeff! This is one of the best recipes I stumbled upon and it worked great for us! Thanks so much for watching my video, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
very nice way to cook the fish..seems like you really love using butter..!! I am gonna try it soon..thanks my friend
Hi, John, I thought you might have caught all the little ones for a minute.Lol !!
Great video! I don't know if you remember the old pork frogs and I love to see a video on them! Keep up the good work👍🏽
Hi Chase! I do remember them! Uncle Josh pork strips is what I used to use. I'd attach them to the back hook of a Johnson spoon. I don't think they make them anymore. They worked OK, but I don't have them. Thanks so much for watching my videos! Thanks even more for the kind words my friend!
This makes me want to go fishing!!!! YUM!
It certainly was Lake Ketchabigwon today wasn't it mate? Sending love and gratitude for your videos from here in down under!
Hi Tyhone! Yes, it does seem that the fish are trending bigger this year, so Lake Ketchabigwon is living up to its name! You're very kind! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
Nice catch, you have thrown many fishes under 14 inch, but in our country we ate all sizes. I want to taste your sandwich with fish
Hi dxer! I try to do what is best for this little lake. The biologists have told me that it is better to return the big fish. You would love these fish sandwiches. I wish I could serve you some! Thanks so much for watching my videos and for the kind words my friend!
Goodness, those sandwiches looked so good! I'm so hungry now!😍
Hi Gilly!! These sandwiches hit the spot! Thanks so much for watching my videos, and especially for the nice comment my friend!
I've been great! Finished school two weeks ago, but I have had zero time off to watch youtube videos, lol! So much family to see and visit these days!
Family should always come first! 👍✌️👌😊
Hi again I caught cleaned and cooked yellow perch for the first time and it was delicious
Hi Miyo! Wow!! Congratulations on a successful "catch and cook!" You can be very proud of yourself! Keep up the good work, and enjoy it to the max!
