Personally, I think that this is one of the best looking cars in today's market. I feel that the 370z is probably one of Nissans best works. I can't wait to own one, definitely my favorite car!
I have owned many Z's, and frankly I loved all of them, the 300, was great. The 350 was gorgeous. The 370 was a blast. I even had a G35. Z's are more fun. Yes they are an acquired taste but once you've been bit....not much else will do. Everyone complains about power numbers in this car, but what no one really understands is this is a sports car not a muscle car. 3400 lbs vs say the lightest muscle car about 3700lbs. This car can also go around a curve without going in a ditch. Honestly most people couldn't handle this car at the limit anyway. 0-60 times is for bench racing noobs who couldn't afford a real sports car. I have drove the 1st gen Nismo, and it was great. I haven't drove this version but if it's anything like the first one it will be equally great. All muscle heads go troll for your chevy's and ford's. Leave the race cars to us.
This car does not compete with the Mustang, Camaro, and Challeneger!! They are all COMPLETELY different cars. You are comparing a sports car to muscle cars. The Genesis Coupe is he only car you mentioned that is a competitor. I own a 370Z, I know how the car drives and it's a lot lighter and smaller than any of those cars. The V6 does not sound bad either, idk why everyone says that. It's a great engine and responds to mods very well. I hope that Nissan DOES NOT go with forced induction for the next gen, I will be so sad. There is nothing like the feel of a naturally aspirated engine, I don't care what anyone says. All of the power is available right on command and it's so predictable. This car has never been about raw power, it's always been a very well balanced and stylish sports car.
mhtube01 - Amen! The Z is neither a big heavy muscle car nor a spritely little roadster (many compare it to a Miata). Its a class all its own, and a quite cool one at that.
It is true the mustang v6, Camaro v6, the genesis, the challenger v6, even the i6 Porsche is all in the same class. Fun fact the 370z was actually the direct competitor to i6 porche. 😁
***** depends saabkyle doesn't give opinions and isn't critical something I personally don't like. Doesn't help his videos are too long I liked saabkyle but got tired of it over time. I only watch saabkyle for supercars and cars I am truly interested in.
I have to disagree with you about putting reverse next to 6th gear rather than next to first. Putting reverse next to 6th makes no logical sense. You're most likely to go from 1st to reverse and back the most often, so having them close together makes more sense, and keeps all of the gears in order. What's your reasoning behind preferring reverse to be next to 6th?
Perhaps it's more of a personal preference but on some vehicles with more a more vague shifter, it can be easy to mistake first and reverse gear when they are that close together. Plus, it just feels more natural for us to go all the way to the right and back for reverse versus to the left. To each their own though :)
Greg Seemann That's pretty funny, considering serious sports cars all have reverse on the left. Companies like BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini do this for a reason. What kind of car are you racing?
Kev50027 II am not sure if you can read or talking about someone else, but where did I mention anything about reverse being next to 6th gear? I was simply saying that you have never raced a car, which is obvious by what you said.
FluffieChris GTR... Skyline... I don't know why people are so hung up on the name between the new generation GTR and the older ones... It literally went R31, R32, R33, R34 and now the R35. How much more clear can some one make it? The older ones were Skyline GTS/GTR. And the new one while not directly having Skyline in the name is still a damn Skyline. It follows the same philosophy as the older ones.
from what I have read the nissan gtr is the successor to the skyline but it is not apart of the skyline range but i agree with you it is practically the same thing lol i think the only difference is that one is legal in the us and the other isnt
If we're talking Skyline versus Fairlady, that's a different story. The dude in this video literally said the Z is older than the GT-R and the fact is the 240Z released the same year as the Skyline GT-R.
As a late 20s myself, I find this 2015 fits me perfect. As much as I love the '14. But that big wing gotta go. And that's one of the reasons why I sold my STi too. I'm down with big spoiler maybe when I was teen or early 20s. Def not when ur about to hit ur 30. IMHO :)
Don't care how old this car is, the 370Z is still an amazing sports car from Nissan and still looks amazing to me~ Yes, the GT-R, I'd say gets a lot of attention, but those enthuasists that know how good this car is know just how amazing it is to drive. This and the GT-R, by far their best vehicles.
Good review and test. Just a few observations: The body is Fastback, not Hatchback. It belongs to the C or compact segment; its rivals are Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86, Pontiac Solstice, Peugeot RCZ and indirect Audi TT. The Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Hyundai Genesis Coupe are segment D or medium.
I bought a 2016 red Nismo tech a year and a 1/2 ago and Love it!! I've owned 36 cars, 10 were sports cars including a 73 trans am with a 455 that was featured in a Pontiac magazine years ago, mustangs, camaro's a 280zx and 300zx this car is the best of the bunch!! It's fast, handles great and looks great. I even get 19 mpg, the trans am had 400 horsepower and I got 4 mpg on 101 octane gas.
I don't understand why "ride quality" is a negative. If you walk into a car like this hoping it'd be a smooth ride you're clearly in the wrong section. Do you know how boring it'd be to drive a 370z if it was smooth? It's supposed to be a sporty type of car. This car is the car you buy when your friends have their own cars and you have a girlfriend. You don't buy this car when you're looking to take your friends around town.
+Kyle Spraberry It just bothers me that they want to point out such obvious shit. Like no shit there's no back seats. It's not the "pile in my car lets go to dinner" type of crew. It's the "get in your own fucking car and last person pays the tip".
Not only that, TOUCH screens have no place in ANY car, especially a sports car. Controls need to be tactile - one should not have to avert their eyes so long as to search a menu and make sure their finger is on the right spot at a given time. All the fuss about texting and driving, and yet touch screens have not been outlawed. I'm not one for excessive government control, but since they are already dictating what is and isn't in our cars, touch screens need to be 100% outlawed in automobiles. PS - Sorry if my use of the term "touch screen" is got a little long in the tooth ;-)
da Bob Not to mention that touch screens in cars are usually laggy, glitchy, slow, and quickly rendered inferior. They are more frustrating and less practical than any simple mechanical button/switch could ever be, and, in my personal opinion, cheap and less stylish. If I'm buying a nice car, it's for the driving experience, not the shitty built-in technology.
All Nissan vehicles are noisy. But there's no sound insulation over the rear wheels, so that's a lot of the problem. The best thing you can do if you buy a Z for sound dampening is to take care of the rear cargo area.
For the MILLIONTH time, would you all ( including Reviewers! ) stop comparing this car to a Mustang and Camaro? This is a Sports Car. Camaros, Mustangs and Challengers are Muscle Cars. It's not Rocket Science people. A Les Paul and Telecaster both are Guitars, but are wildly different in their approach. Do I need to make another analogy here or are you guys catching on now? lol
All this dude says in reviews is "it's getting a little long in the tooth" about EVERYTHING. What a princess. These reviews are getting a little "long in the tooth" in my opinion. geeeez.
Overall, you have delivered a very good first person 'street' review of the 2015 Nismo 370Z. I enjoy your insight and on going comparisons to other competitors. Thanks!
From 2015 and up Nissan changed the front and back Nismo bumpers to shorter ones basically neutering the cars prior aggressive appearance. I do really like the newer Recaro seats they look great.
After owning a Genesis coupe for the past year. I wouldn't recommend it to any one over a 370. If you literally have to have the the back seats, fine, thats all its got going for it over the Z. I have never been in the second generation Genesis, but the first gen is a little rough. It has a lot of soft touch plastics, but every thing scratches easy, and the leather might as well be vinyl. My car had 30k miles on it when I got it, and shortly after getting it the steering wheel has really started to deteriorate. I have talked to a couple of other people who own one, and along with me, they have issue with the steering of the car. While driving straight the steering wheel is actually turned to the left by up to 15 degrees I would say. It literally drives me insane. The only time I really enjoy the car is when I get to drive it hard, and all those issues seem to disappear for the time being. Oh, and there might be more sound deadning in the Genesis. The way every one describes the cabin noise in the 370 sounds much worse than the Genesis. The ride quality is all so quite rough. And don't get me started about the 6 speed manual in the Genesis. While I have heard the second gen transmission was upgraded and took some of the issues away, the first gen is utter junk. Hard to drive smooth, especially when going from 1st to 2nd, and sometimes 2nd to 3rd. The clutch is super high and is quite annoying. Take my word for it - 370 > Genesis coupe.
I like the 370Z i really do, but they overrated and are just not convenient. To be a daily driver it just wouldn't cut it, like you mentioned there are no back seats but most importantly there is not enough trunk space. As a second car, sure why not? But as a daily user one car, then not really. Everything i said though doesn't apply to the Nissan/Datsun 240z/280zx. Those are just awesome masterpieces!
I had a Genesis Coupe as well, got rid of it after 10 months lol. The only reason anyone (like me) would have bought a Genesis Coupe is because they couldn't afford a 370Z
I never really saw this car as being in direct competition with V8 muscle cars. That being said, the 370Z Nismo is a lot faster than this video suggests. MotorTrend recorded a 4.8 second 0 - 60 time for the NON - NISMO 370Z, so this one should be even a little quicker!
The look of this Nismo is awesome. But the reason the Z doesn't get any love is because it needs more horsepower to stay relative. Car buyers in this segment have a lot of hp options. 400+ for similarly priced offerings from Ford and Chevy. So either add more HP or remove some weight. Having driven the 370Z for the last 3 years, the reason I replaced mine was because I just wanted a little more umph. Great steering, bullet proof drive train and lots of fun with the 6 speed. Tech package is a must.
eltingville81 Yes it has more hp than the V6s in its class, but other makers who are also in this class/ price segment have 400+. Don't get me wrong, I thought it had ample power when I bought it in 2012, ( which was the same in 2008 when it came out) but now in 2015, 350 hp for $46,000 isn't enough in my opinion.
2021 and they are finally redoing it. 400z. In the mean time everyone who gets in these loves em and will be crying for them to be had later on after their turbos burn up their 4 cylinders
Another great review.Really brings it home that the Z needs a redesign. 40+K is way to much for what you get these days. Back in '03 this was a sweet ride for around 30k. But it did chew up front tires like me chomping bacon at an all you can eat Bfast buffet
I just graduated nursing school I have a 04 g35 coupe I love it, I'm thinking about either getting this car a nismo 370z or keeping the g35 and getting an STI not sure what to do
Good review. Would you say the poor exhaust note is probably an exhaust tuning issue? I haven't heard a 11:1 CR engine revving to 7600 not sound good with a tuned exhaust. Much like the nice kits on current 370Zs.
Nice review. Is this your car? The nismo is harsh. I put on some PSS and it helped immensely. I went to Hobby Lobby and got a foam pad and just tossed it in the seat. On bumpy roads it improves the ride quality significantly. The clutch is hard the replacement spring (check the forums) improved to make it a much better driving car. Enjoy.
It's doesn't have good ride quality because it's a track ready car from the show room floor. It's you want something for a daily with good ride quality stick with something American made. Well done Nissan this Z is sexy
***** We did notice your comment yesterday on the Subaru video, sometimes circumstances require us to skip a week and we apologize for keeping you waiting. Usually, we try to upload one a week, and currently, we've got 6 more videos to be worked on so keep a lookout for them :)
No excuse for the technology being so shit in a modern $35,000 dollar car They can never make a decent UI with responsiveness comparable to what we get in a $200 tablet. Pathetic.
Because your tablet is designed to run off an open operating system. For whatever reason, car manufacturers refuse to make their OS open so that everyone can design software for it, not just them.
+MALI MALI Although true, it's still a load of crap why manufactures are so slow to integrate iOS/Android with the ICE (In Car Entertainment). Fortunately, that's all changing and some vehicles have Android integration now.
Inorite thats cool that android is doing that...the way i see it is that car companies make cars.....technology companies advance technology. So im not that suprised auto companies arent as tech savy
+Biddybalboa the reason why i went with a new mustang v6. May have less power but base of base of base has bluetooth, usb, aux, cruise, backup cam.... for 10k less.. that 10k can be for mods. And now with the IRS(independent rear suspension) she handles like a dream. The mustang may be a bit heavier then the 370z but it handles the power well. And the stang gives you an LSD from factory and more room. ALso comes with track options like a 0-30/60/100 timer and vise versa.
Thanks for the review, I have a 15 and can agree with most of what you said. It is fun and very nice still. I am disappointed that the turbo and t tops went away and they(Nissan) are stingy with the horsepower. However comma the GTR is not in my tax bracket, and while the Mustang, Camaro and others offer more bang for the buck I'm stuck on Z cars. For me road noise no problem , back seat not needed, and I can drive it daily. But Nissan if you are listening 350 HP is not really competitive anymore. You guys did a lot better in the old days.
Saabs go way more into detail. And most of his "Reviews" aren't really reviews in my opinion. More like he went and did some research on said car, sat in said car, talked about said research in said car. He rarely ever gets to actually drive the cars he is "reviewing." Can't blame him though, he does get the chance to show some of the most expensive cars there are.
That's oil temperature, not oil pressure, by the way. It's not as big a deal in Z after 2012 (Nissan added an oil cooler standard that year), but the oil temp used to get out of control really quickly and put the car into limp mode.
Personally, I think that this is one of the best looking cars in today's market. I feel that the 370z is probably one of Nissans best works. I can't wait to own one, definitely my favorite car!

That cabin noise sounds pretty bad. Do you think the noise is due to the tires or insufficient sound insulation?
Most likely a combination of both, this car wasn't designed to be quiet
All Nissan vehicles are noisy. But there's no sound insulation over the rear wheels, so that's a lot of the problem. The best thing you can do if you buy a Z for sound dampening is to take care of the rear cargo area.

I have to agree, I had an '11 3.8... I think we've chatted before lol
***** Why would I need to upload a video? Plenty of other Genesis coupe videos on youtube.
I had a Genesis Coupe as well, got rid of it after 10 months lol. The only reason anyone (like me) would have bought a Genesis Coupe is because they couldn't afford a 370Z
***** Did you have the manual transmission? I can't wait to get rid of mine.
@redline review can you leave the camera angle more on the road than your face so we can kinda see the cars abilities if possible plz
What the hell does "long in the tooth" even mean??? Old? Old works great in a sentence???
Nice Review Of 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo. 😁
I would love to have this for a track day car!!!
This review was a bit long in the tooth for my taste. But it was a good, thorough review. Good work.
It has more horsepower than any V6 version in it's class. You're comparing this V6 car with V8's. Of course those V8 cars will have more power.
eltingville81 Yes it has more hp than the V6s in its class, but other makers who are also in this class/ price segment have 400+. Don't get me wrong, I thought it had ample power when I bought it in 2012, ( which was the same in 2008 when it came out) but now in 2015, 350 hp for $46,000 isn't enough in my opinion.
then blame left party slugging business , why consumers get less for there money
m2 is 55k with 368hp
Redline Reviews: When will you review the 2016 Nissan Maxima? Looking forward to it.
Do you work for a Nissan dealer now?
370z touring, liveable? how bad is the wind noise ?
2021 and they are finally redoing it. 400z. In the mean time everyone who gets in these loves em and will be crying for them to be had later on after their turbos burn up their 4 cylinders
2015 is the best looking one even after. 10 years.
Can you review a g35 coupe 6mt
Saving up for one hopefully i can get on these stand out !
Yup. Once you drive one:) Once you drive it to where it feels loved... You are in love.
Ugh, their V6 engines just sound so damned good!
How are the seats for comfort? Good for a daily?
Does it have a slot for an Aux Cord?
Yes
Yes but don't need it lol it has Bluetooth for your IPod/ android phones which sounds a hell of a lot better.
+350gtrs THANK THE LORD!! I also forgot all about this comment
+350gtrs How the fuck would wireless sound better than wired?
+350gtrs please stop spreading false information
Great review!!! is their going to be any F-150's or new mustangs?
Absolutely, you should see videos on both soon :)
Another great review.Really brings it home that the Z needs a redesign. 40+K is way to much for what you get these days. Back in '03 this was a sweet ride for around 30k. But it did chew up front tires like me chomping bacon at an all you can eat Bfast buffet
The 370z didn't exist in '03. You must be talking about the 350z.
split those hairs chuclehead,350=370
um, no.
Crispin Sugita
um yes,
redeisign with upgrades
get over yourself
Well, they both are Z-cars, but literally speaking, they are different cars.
nice review, makes me miss my 09 z :-/
Geiles Auto👍
🎉Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr 2023🥂
🎉Happy New Year 2023,I wish you 🥂🍻🎊
I just graduated nursing school I have a 04 g35 coupe I love it, I'm thinking about either getting this car a nismo 370z or keeping the g35 and getting an STI not sure what to do
MT 370Z NISMO!
I'm wondering if the next z car will have its engine on the rear.... Since the trunk space is pretty small.
Dream Car :)
What process do you take to review an older car, like maybe a 1.6 miata ? Just curious, do you get em from friends or sellers?
Good review. Would you say the poor exhaust note is probably an exhaust tuning issue? I haven't heard a 11:1 CR engine revving to 7600 not sound good with a tuned exhaust. Much like the nice kits on current 370Zs.
Nice review. Is this your car? The nismo is harsh. I put on some PSS and it helped immensely. I went to Hobby Lobby and got a foam pad and just tossed it in the seat. On bumpy roads it improves the ride quality significantly. The clutch is hard the replacement spring (check the forums) improved to make it a much better driving car. Enjoy.
Nissan is just incredible!
It's doesn't have good ride quality because it's a track ready car from the show room floor. It's you want something for a daily with good ride quality stick with something American made. Well done Nissan this Z is sexy
Youre vids are so good but not frequent anymore....why :(
***** We did notice your comment yesterday on the Subaru video, sometimes circumstances require us to skip a week and we apologize for keeping you waiting. Usually, we try to upload one a week, and currently, we've got 6 more videos to be worked on so keep a lookout for them :)
Redline Reviews Do any of them happen to be the 2015 STi? :)
No excuse for the technology being so shit in a modern $35,000 dollar car
They can never make a decent UI with responsiveness comparable to what we get in a $200 tablet. Pathetic.
Because your tablet is designed to run off an open operating system. For whatever reason, car manufacturers refuse to make their OS open so that everyone can design software for it, not just them.
it's a car not a smartphone I use my phone and phone meant for most of the navigation and music anyway
I guess in America you need more power because the roads are generally straight, long and boring. Here in the UK the power is more than enough.
As far as “long in the tooth” goes, if they were still mass producing the 280Z, 300ZX TT, or the NISMO 370Z I will buy them all. I never tire of them.
Can you make a review on the challenger or charger 2015 or mustang plz
i wonder if a VR38TT will fit in this car
TY sooo much for saying Zee and not Zed...my plate will one day read NOTAZED lol
That's a really shallow trunk. If the engine is in the front, what is below that bottom to take so much space in the rear? Spare tire?
Thanks for the review, I have a 15 and can agree with most of what you said. It is fun and very nice still. I am disappointed that the turbo and t tops went away and they(Nissan) are stingy with the horsepower. However comma the GTR is not in my tax bracket, and while the Mustang, Camaro and others offer more bang for the buck I'm stuck on Z cars. For me road noise no problem , back seat not needed, and I can drive it daily. But Nissan if you are listening 350 HP is not really competitive anymore. You guys did a lot better in the old days.
So you want forced induction cause you don't like to redline it... redline hum...
would you say the exhaust on the nismo is louder than the one on the reg 370?
Would this car be good for taller people? By this I mean would it be comfortable to sit in and have enough room?
This guy is like Saab Kyle but better and doesn't have an annoying voice
Two different reviwers don't compare them.
Is the 350z any good?
That's oil temperature, not oil pressure, by the way. It's not as big a deal in Z after 2012 (Nissan added an oil cooler standard that year), but the oil temp used to get out of control really quickly and put the car into limp mode.
