Thanks, this was really helpful
now my layout is working fine
+Jacob Jarrett (JacobJayCraft) Jacob, thanks for the feedback. Glad you were able to solve your electrical issue. Cheers, Kevin
I used the TCS KAT 22 ( I think) on two BACHMANN Gp7s. Ran them though a very complex yard throat ( over 12 very dirty tracks) at very low speed pulling about 20+ cars. NO STALLING !! Incredible decoders . Also have above average motor control . Well worth the money especially on short wheelbase equipment !
+Rich Palmieri Great. Glad to hear the KAT 22 is working out for you. The Keep Alive decoders certainly improve the enjoyment of your layout since minor imperfections in electrical connectivity won't cause major operational problems. Thanks for the feedback on how the KAT 22 worked for you. Cheers, Kevin
Really helpful!! Thanks!
Scale Model Trains & Colorado's Joint Line have anything you do not want, use, or is broken in HO scale?
what was causing the flickering headlight? i would expect the current keeper to provide constant power... but evidently that is not occuring. the motor appears to be unaffected by the power drop off, but the headlight seems to be a different story. do you concur?
what type of decoder do you have in that bn kato sd40-2 because my board actualy stoped working and i have to get a new bord because of the decoder
The Kato BN SD40-2 has a Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder. If you don't want to go that route both TCS and NCE make several good decoders that would work in your engine. Most of my non-sound engines have NCE decoders.
Thanks I love nce it had a soundtraxx mobile decoder I just wanted to see what was working for other modelers
Awesome but the lights shouldn't Flicker too
Length of time on stay alive depends on load the loco is pulling and the grade
This is really great, glad Bachmann included them with the chargers.
