- Every generation has those talents that transcend the game. Ones that define a decade plus of the NBA. They come in many shapes and sizes. From overpowering freak athletes bigs. To tall, skilled, and versatile playmakers. To high flying guards that might be psychotic. To forwards that just seem to do everything on the basketball court. To tall wings that do the things usually are reserved for small guards. To small guards with shooting range that completely change the sport. To versatile monster bigs and forwards that dominate the game in different ways.
Well this season we saw the introduction to the next generation defining player. One that honestly has a chance to be the best of all of them. Victor Wembanyama just completed one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time. He put up numbers that only hall of famers have in their prime, as a rookie. It’s very clear he’s a transcendent talent. One that is well on his way to being the face of the NBA. One that already is close to being a top 10 player in the world, if he isn’t already. One that's already the best defensive player in the world. Wemby is the face of a new era of basketball, and was by far the best rookie in one of the best rookie classes in recent memory.

Nice summary 👏🏻. You didn’t mention his competitiveness, which on top of his IQ and physical gifts, could arguably bring him into the MJ/Kobe/Duncan level eventually. Witness his games against Giannis, Chet, and his last played game of the season against Jokic. His inner fire is just as tantalizing as his current ball skills.
I believe I mentioned it in previous videos about him but you’re 100000% correct in that assessment

Started watching him in France...I remember my brother called me when Spurs won the lottery pick. If he improves half the amount he did this last season, next season...it's over. If Spurs make the playoffs, he may win the MVP AND the DPoY
He’s already a top 15 player in the world, and if he improves like he did this season, there won’t be 5 players in the world better than him by the end of next season
Hi Terranova, I was wondering when you'd start doing your draft breakdown, so - I started watching your stuff around the 2021 draft and you have a very nuanced take on each rookie and you go into great deal on each of them. What do you think the spurs' draft will look like? I had them taking Topic but it was just revealed he has a partial ACL tear. I have them taking Stephon Castle with the 4th and taking Topic with the 8th, much in the way the nuggets took MPJ as a prospect who fell due to injury concerns, or more recently cam whitmore to the rockets.
I’ll probably do my draft content after I know which teams they are going to. Personally think the Spurs should take Rob Dillingham at pick 4 and one of the ignite wings if they fall to pick 8 tho

If he improves from year 1 to year 2 like he did in europe the league is absolutely done for. For context here are his year 1 and year 2 stats in europe: 9.4, 5.1, 0.8 and 1.8 blocks per game in year 1 but in year 2 it jumped to 21.6, 10.4 2.4 and 3.0 blocks per game 😮 i know it wont be that crazy of a jump in the nba but thats absurd how much he improved from year 1 to year 2
