Those guys ended up releasing an album without Ben's say and there was a lot of legal strife to sift through for Ben to keep the band's name whilst also firing Aaron and Mike. Chad Szeliga, the drummer in this video, ended up leaving shortly after due to "creative differences". So Ben was on his own fighting his health problems and the legal issues until 2015 when he came back with all new members (and they added an additional guitarist, making the band a quintet for the first time). Those new members who he added at that time were Jasen Rauch (guitarist originally from the band Red), Keith Wallen (guitarist/backing vocalist, originally from Adelitas Way), Aaron Bruch (bass/backing vocals), and Shaun Foist (drums, originally from Picture Me Broken). This is still the current line-up of the band today. After growing frustrated with the lack of answers regarding his health condition, Ben decided to abandon searching for a diagnosis and focus on the next album, which was their newest album in 6 years, Dark Before Dawn. It broke records and pushed them into the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time, among others, making it the band's most successful record to date at that time. If you're looking for big listen to Breath by them. It's my all time favourite song and The chorus builds every time into a massive outro, it's breathtaking. Edit: Also as far as commercial appeal, it was in the soundtrack for a Bruce Willis film Surrogates.

I think the real power and depth in i will not bow's chorus is the instrumental especially the guitar, the tone they have is very unique and just so good. The chords are powerful intricate and calamitous all at the same time, while bens voice sings more calm melodic but powerful lyrics. This song is absolutely one of the best a joy to play on guitar and in the car.
Ben was sponsored by PRS guitars for quite some time so he had custom made PRS McCarty 594 semi-hollow body guitars with just a pickup selector and volume knob only (which he has in this video). Now he plays ESP LTD guitars and has a signature model.
Highly recommend that you react to Phase, So Cold, Break My Fall, Hopeless, Breaking the Silence and Crawl by this band. If you want something heavy, then Believe is the absolute best song to react to.
I don't know about your preferences or anyting but I love this chorus sure it might be slower but it has great impact because of it to me it just sounds so melodic

Phase, sugarcoat, away, next to nothing, water, wish i may, break my fall, follow, breakdown...this list on great songs goes on and on. So Cold is the song that really brought them into the mainstream.

Yeah, I'm surprised you missed them. I have every album and they're super consistent. There's a few subpar songs here and there, but not one bad album at all. I've been listening to this band since '04, and I'm honestly surprised by the lack of reactions to their stuff!
My favorite band since 'polyamorous' (remember playing original Xbox and listening to BB) lol The singer Benjamin, had/has a lot of phobias and thus came that album. Glad you found this band! Enjoy, love your channel. ✌
I think youd LOVE Gemini Syndrome. A little heavier, but similar style to TD, BB, etc.... Pleasure & Pain, Anonymous, Remember We Die, Zealot, Basement... all great tracks. Pleasure & Pain has a sick breadown for Alt. Metal.
Not sure if it will be good for views particularly so maybe this is just a suggestion for your personal enjoyment but the band Mandroid Echostar released an EP called "Citadels" and its hard to describe accurately but I'd say "prog metal with belted clean vocals and some of the best songwriting I've ever heard". I've heard people call them "periphery with more dad rock influence". Their song "The Sleeper" or the title track off the EP would be a great example of their talent. I can never listen to that EP just once. It's one of my go to records on long drives because singing along keeps me going.
I dont think it needs that "push" because i think it would mess up the flow of the song. Breaking benjamin formula to their songs are always calm sounds into agressive sounds then back into calm sounding. the scream at the end of the chrous wouldnt stand out as much if they added the push.
Yes he is holding a guitar he just wasn't playing the guitar atm. If you look very closely he is holding it via the strap on his shoulder. He just kicks in with it later. He's wearing it--it's just harder to see because of the darker video shots and his dark jacket that he always wears lol.

Why does it have to be a mainstream song if the chorus doesn’t fit your liking? The chorus is the most impactful part of the song. If you add too many sounds then you take away from the message.
Hey Shamarr I’m thinking I didn’t get my message across correctly in this one, I would never say something is mainstream due to it not being my personal taste. also I disagree that having additional parts to a chorus loses its meaning, that’s way too general. All songs are different and this song is a massive hit, my thoughts towards it while listening to it for the first time a decade after its release don’t really matter anyway, right?
That chorus is flat as a pancake imho. None of their (excellent) signature choppy angular geetar, uninteresting melody, tame drums, nothing special vocally.... I just found myself waiting for it to end so we could get back to the other parts which are way more BreakingBenjamin-y !! Felt like a wasted opportunity to me. Frustrating. Well done you, for being way more diplomatic about it than me! :)

BB is on their 3rd drummer. In my opinion this drummer in the video, Chad Szeliga, was the best of the three. Loved his style and power.
