by Zane Hodges : The Final Judgment . In John’s well-known description of the Final Judgment in Revelation 20:11-14, we do not even find a reference to sins, much less a reference to unforgiven sins. Instead, we are told, “the dead were judged acording to theirworks, by the things which were written in the books” (Rev 20:12; italics added). To be sure, the works of unsaved people contain innumerable sins, but it is still significant that sin per se is not referred to, as we will point out in a moment. Yet even though unsaved people are judged on the basis of their works, they are not condemned to hell on that basis! On the contrary we read, “Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev 20:15; italics added). People go to hell, therefore, because they do not have life! This is precisely what we might have concluded from the theme statement of the Fourth Gospel: “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31; italics added). It is also evident in John 5:24 where our Lord states that the believer “shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” (italics added). We conclude, therefore, that the possession oflife is the critical issue between God and man in terms of eternal judgment. There is no Final Judgment to determine one’s eternal destiny if he already possesses life. But sin is not the critical issue. Why not? John’s own writings tell us why. According to John, Jesus is “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29); and “He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world” (1 John 2:2). The hymn writer was correct when he said that “Jesus paid it all”! So marvelously complete and full is the sacrificial death of Christ for our sins that God’s justice is satisfied by that sacrifice and no man is condemned to hell on the grounds of his sins. But by the same token, the cross of Christ does not automatically regenerate men and women. They still need to obtainlife and this is available to them on one basis only: faith in Christ. But then, one might ask, why do men’s works come up at all? The reason must surely be that at the Final Judgment mankind will get a full and fair hearing. Since multitudes have supposed that they can reach heaven by their works, these works will be examined on that day. But as Scripture already informs us, no man can be saved by his works (Eph 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Rom 3:20). The outcome of the final examination of the works of the lost is a foregone conclusion. Any claim to God’s salvation that is based on the deeds a person has done will be swept away by the contents of the books that are opened at the judgment. Man’s one last hope will rest in the Book of Life, which will be duly consulted even though those being judged do not have their names written there. But the absence of their names from its pages is the basis on which the lost are cast into the lake of fire. Thus one can see that the issue at the Final Judgment is not man’s sin, since Christ has atoned for that in its entirety. Instead, the issue is whether someone can make it into the kingdom of God on the basis of the works they did on earth, apart from the miracle of new birth that comes by faith alone. But as the Lord Jesus informed Nicodemus, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). hello brother Jesus Christ our Lord bless you and may the grace of God be with you, I have some questions: when we believe in Christ Jesus for eternal life, in addition to that we obtain justification? all of us born again are declared righteous? Justified of all things right? since Jesus Christ mentions that the righteous will go to eternal life (Matthew 25:46) so it is something that positionally is in every born again believer, is it correct?

Faith justifies the sinner. I find it difficult to maintain that faith can exist at the same time as justification, and to say that justification is not determinative of salvation.
Nowhere in the book of John - nor anywhere else in Scripture - does it explicitly say : "Whosoever believes that I forgive their sins has Everlasting Life" . Location , location , location = context . Future sins are never explicitly declared to be forgiven as a package deal (Past, Present, Future) . Thus , a temporal consideration (forgiveness) has no necessary connection to the reception of Everlasting Life. Regeneration is entirely apart from all behavioral matters .
I wanted to know if you could help me by answering some questions since it is necessary for me to be able to Evangelize in the best way, there is much talk that Jesus Christ already paid for all the sins of all the people who have existed in history until now and the final and many blessings that we have today are based on the fact that God can give eternal life in a fair way in addition to the resurrection, thanks to the perfect redemptive work of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the cross my questions are: 1.- What about the Old Testament saints, how did they receive salvation and eternal life without the work being done on the Cross? 2.- Is there any advantage that we on this side of the Cross have so to speak over the Old Testament saints? 3.- If Christ still did not remove the barrier of sin in the Old Testament, how did God give eternal life and other blessings? I understand the position of GES is that: sins are no longer the problem and people are not judged for a problem that has already been solved, but because people who go to hell it's because they not have eternal life. Since as the sins in themselves are not the Problem, neither were they in the Old Testament since they were saved looking towards the coming messiah. So I come to the conclusion that they never have been, since God predestined us to save us all freely by the future sacrifice of Christ on the Cross, am I correct? Sins have never been a problem but the absence of eternal life, The New Birth
@@robertomoreno3364 Do you understand that forgiveness of sins is never an Everlasting consideration ? Ever . This is the thrust of Antonio's message . Only faith in the Christ (Jesus) for eternal life is the singular means of regeneration from Genesis 1:1 - Revelation 22 . Noone will be in the lake of fire because of their sins or works , but only because of unbelief in Him for His doubtless Guarantee of Everlasting Life .
"Remember, sin isn't the issue. Do you believe that? That's what ZANE believed." has to be the scariest line said in this entire thing that makes me concerned about GES' beliefs now... i feel like that was such a cultic thing to say. i've been on the fence about focused free grace theology, and lines like that make it real hard to even consider it any further
Antonio seems a little more "passionate" than the others, don't let that turn you off from Free Grace as a whole. I think a ton of people have a hard time taking him seriously, so he's qualifying his presentation with "even Zane believed this stuff," someone who's teachings free grace people have great respect for. Every denomination has someone who's passion can be a turn off. Unfortunately, free grace has that, too. Jeremy Meyers is another free gracer who's interpretations can sometimes be strange, and he can be very resolute. At least in his earlier years. But he still helped me come out of Calvinism. And he has a solid foundation, so I can occasionally seek his perspective on a Biblical matter.
I'm sorry, I do not understand your analogy at the very end of your talk about the stars and going to Disneyland and how that equates the Heaven and Hell. It sounds to me like you're giving a third option you either go to heaven and you have fun, go to heaven and you're restricted, or you go to hell and don't have a good time but you're basically a good person.
That was better refreshing, on so many levels.
Great job pastor
Much love❤
Thank you!
