The Nicrew breaking after a powercut is strange. I actually had the same issue a few weeks ago with a Nicrew Slim LED. Electrics were tripped by something else in the house. When I came to reset the light timer I found the light unit was dead. Luckily it was still in warranty so the company sent a replacement. I tested the old transformer plug on the new one and it worked so it was the main light that died. Maybe it's a fault on the Nicrew lights that even surge protecting sockets can't protect.
I am glad bought the hygger you recommended, since accidently dropped mine into tank and still survived well. Though kinda wished I noticed that the other hygger light had strong lights, would fit my tank much better for better growth. 48 watts ws my current 26 watts is a good amount
A good video.. I have a small Nicrew set that has been faultless for around 5 years now, but I did have a Hygger set that just stopped working after not very long at all. I think it's a bit hit and miss sometimes, but they certainly do perform well when they work and are a good price.
Yeah could be any number of reasons, however I have the same fault in the same model so it could either be a coincidence or a proper fault. Otherwise Nicrew lights are excellent performance for the price
I have great results with the hygger 978 on about 50 percent intensity..8 hours light schedule 3pm to 11pm ..of course in a dirted tank freshwater ..absolutely love the spectrum of hygger over nicrew..✌🏻
Ey! Wondering if you an answer this question about the 24/7 mode on the hygger. Around 9:30.. Your light is flashing. Is the 24/7 mode working here? Mine doesn't seem to work properly. No matter what I do, 24/7 mode is just frozen on whatever amount of light is on the time slot. I tried leaving the time slot blinking like that.. I also tried a long press after, which stops the blinking. No luck. I think 24/7 is just broken for me.
Great video, great review. Very helpful. No further questions on the Amazon lights my cheap arse was looking for too. Except for maybe the placement of your sockets right on the back and top of the tank, mate. I don't want to be the HSE git but at least I would not trust me having them there. Obviously you know what you're doing there but it gave me a little shiver is all. Still, the video was spot on!
So beautiful tank. Im totally confused if its marine/reef tank or freshwater planted aquarium. If it is saltwater tank then i have never seen so beautiful plants in marine. Plz guide us how you grow plants. Awasome bro. Very happy subcribe your channel.Lots of love from INDIA.
I had a similar thing happen with KZKR lights. Power cut caused it to malfunction and now its half the brightness and goes back to full brightness randomly.
Great video. I thought I'd give one a go but when I looked for 75cm C10 and 978, BOTH availability issues. Maybe your great reviews emptied the stocks? 🙂
But can these just be left on if u dont touch the tiner or are they always going to just randomly cut off because of the built in timer, all my other tanks are on electric wall timer and cut on and off at night, and I dont want to even think about trying to synch one random light,I'm wanting to upgrade my lighting for my 80 gallon as I want to add more plants
The hygger 957 is terrible...the 48 version supposedly puts out 72 watts but its mostly wasted on heat generation not led output and the integrated contol panel is super frustrating so stay away from that one
if you have common power outages then why are you not running surge protectors on all your electronics they will save you alot of money and hassle in the long run.
So you telling me I coulda been using all these spare nicrews I have laying around from my freshwater tanks to grow soft coral and macros? I just always assumed they weren't strong enough lol

Interesting, could be something related. My other Nicrew lights are OK so I can't really say anything about other models 👍

Really like your videos and setups. I have started my own macroalgae tank. Can you please do another tour update of your fish room?
I will do soon
I have two of the same lights that went bad after power cuts at different times as well.
There are HG999 and HG957 with displays but I'd recommend the former.
Wonder the par on these
All I know is the Nicrew SlimLed is 65 par at 30cm in air.
The 24/7 rgb is 100 par at 12 inches in water. That's from a guy that tested it with a apogee par meter. He has a review on Amazon.
Love your vids 👍 I bought the fx 2 thanks to you and I love it . Just wanted to say thank you
Thank you for watching 👍
You should do one of this with reef leds. I have a feeling people underrate leds.
I don't own many reef leds haha
I don’t underrate LED’s , what bothers me is the false advertisement, poor quality and lack of options with these brands.

Love these follow ups 🙂
One of my pet peeves is open box "reviews" with no idea of how it lasts and long term well rounded thoughts, This was well done!
Thanks im glad you enjoyed it
Just got a nicrew let’s see if it wirks
To be honest, wich corals? These sometimes can survive with Ambiente light from a window
What’s the best light that will bring cichlids color oht? That won’t break the bank tho
Is the hygger good for a 65 deep tank? I have a juwel vision 260 and need to replace the light, appreciate your input

My exact thought
So you telling me I coulda been using all these spare nicrews I have laying around from my freshwater tanks to grow soft coral and macros?
I just always assumed they weren't strong enough lol
Yup
I use them not single problem I also have glass on top of my tank
I want the lights just for the aluminium casing 😂
My aqualux broke after unplugging
Over the long term these almost always become dull because they use such poor quality LED. As you can see the electronics are poor too
Bros using a premium fluval led to light up a bucket
It's a big bucket though
@@EverydayAquaristnot saying you can't just seems like a waste of money for that purpose
It's HIGrrr
Thanks
Love my hygger, dont like the controller
