I like how Eugene makes sure the quiet girl feels comfortable, while not FORCING her to talk. As a quiet person myself, I hated it when as a kid, adults forced me to talk because they assumed that I wanted to be heard. Eugene's skill is a skill that few people have.

As a fellow “I don’t want kids because I’m terrified of fucking them up because I got fucked up” I can confirm that most of us are excellent babysitters, mainly out of fear and empathy
100% agree, almost every job I've ever had involved working with kids (2nd grade IA, summer camp counselor, math tutor, babysitter, junior high coach) and the kids love me because I listen to them, am not too grown up to play with them, and really try to get to know them and respect them as people. My #1 goal in life is to always try to treat kids the way I wish adults in my life had treated me, without having kids myself.
I love how Eugene noticed that Olivia was kind of taking over the spotlight and Eugene made an effort to include her.

Yeah, she’s a whole child worried about how many calories are in a Girl Scout cookie. I was that kinda kid, and I’m 22 and still have an eating disorder
I think the mindset is different for a kid than for an adult. She might have been taught that high calorie foods are bad for you. Simplistic but that’s a concept a child can understand.
My mom taught me that everything is okay in moderation when I raised some similar concerns about Girl Scout cookies when I was about 11 years old.

Yeah my best friend and I had the exact same dynamic when we were in primary school. Now we're in highschool and still best friends even though when we were younger I was super quiet and she had the backbone in the friendship.

Olivia just seemed genuinely outgoing. I can't believe y'all are criticizing a child so much.
Couldn’t agree more! I was a lot like her when I was a kid. If you got me hooked on a topic, I could go on about it for ages. Not helping is that I’m autistic and I had a lot more trouble with social cues when I was younger. A lot of kids thought I was obnoxious.
She’s self confident and outspoken, and thats smth we should be respecting about girls. It’s not necessarily her fault that Georgia is more quiet and reticent. She’s also kind of at that weird age here, where you don’t quite have that childish empathy that the really small kids have, or that ability to read another person’s behaviour and adjust accordingly, like you get when you’re older. Childhood development is complicated and ppl gotta be less quick to criticise just bc they aren’t at those points yet.

As I was watching this I kept thinking 'holy shit I was just like Olivia when I was 8. I looooved being the one who always got to talk and genuinely loved being the center of attention and still do. But after reading the comments I realized everyone who resonated with Georgia hated Olivia and called her a bully. My god if I was a bully I am SO sorry. I can assure you it wasn't because I thought I was better than anyone, I just loved to talk and lead! Oh man, being mean or exclusive was never my intention.
Nah they’re just assuming, based on the fact that she didn’t let Georgia talk as much. It’s impossible to tell that someone’s a bully from 17 minutes, a video no less! You don’t have to worry about that. Most of my friends happen to be super social and talk a lot, but are SUPER sweet. So no need to apologize.
