You missed the best part when you break it up to eat it. I had these in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and I decided to make my own. Thanks for the video!

I had one when visiting there in 2007 and I loved them. Mine was laced with chocolate in between layers.

I chose the pistachio snowball cookie and my sons chose the ones just dusted in powdered sugar. It was a wonderful experience at the shops in Rothenburg ❤

Awe! Thank you Adele, I am very flattered! I honestly struggled with the fact that I am on camera for a while. It's so weird to see yourself cooking! Now I am doing this for a year and I feel that I am more relaxed and confident in front of the camera. It actually became fun over time. Thank you for watching!

Wow, that's surprising. Maybe it is just known in Rothenburg and not in the surrounding area? Viele Grüße oder wie wir in Hamburg sagen: Moin, Moin :-)

Saw another video on how to make them and they used large tea balls to keep the shape

But where would one get such large tea balls? I've never seen them anywhere. If you find them, let me know. Thanks for the information.

~ I became intrigued by these "Schneeballen" after I recently saw a video of a German girl selling them from a booth at at a Christmas market - , probably in Rothenburg. Due to curiosity, I searched the Internet to try to find some "schneeballen tongs" - , but I could barely find any photos of those tongs, let-alone actually find any for sale. The closet thing that I _could_ find to that specialized device, was a large-diameter steel "spider strainer". I am including at the end of my comment, a "link" to a listing for one model of those strainers at Amazon, com. Using some device like that would at-least help cooks attempting to make Schneeballen in their home kitchen, to be able to maintain a rounded shape while the pastries were frying.

Wow they look very interesting and yummy! I am going to have to ask my mom if she’s ever heard of them. ( my mom makes a fried yeast dough called Keklah, I know I spelled that wrong but that’s what we call them, keek-lah. Is how I would pronounce them. Do you know it? Thank for sharing your recipes with us! Nancy

    Uff, gerade noch gut gegangen.
Ich meine das heiße Öl im Topf und ständich rutschendes Brett mit Nudelholz.
Die Bällen sind zu dunkel geworden, muss es so sein?
    Schmecken die nicht bitter?

I do schneebalen here in Brazil!!!

Really? Wow! That is surprising since most regions in Germany don‘t even know these Schneeballs. It always amazes me how far recipes travel in the world. I guess you have German ancestry from the region of Rothenburg.

Hi, I met the schneeballen in the city of Füssen in Bavaria. Loved it! And now I do and sell it here in Brazil. Kisses
