- Hey Everyone! Today I'll be showing you the 2018 KIA SOUL ! it's fully equipped with all the bells and whistles that most people want. This is my first time actually reviewing a New Soul and I'm pretty excited about it:) So far so good! I'm liking the Panoramic Glass Sunroof and super fun features to check out. I'm Chad Dolbier the creator of CCV. After High School I was unsure of what to do for a career as many young adults are. Instead of going to college I decided to start working in the car business in 2000. My first car job was at Acura of Charleston being a car detailer/washer. In 2003 our Acura store started to clear land next door and built Audi of Charleston. After a few years passing and still detailing Acura's & Audi's in 2005 I was asked to be a car salesman. In 2006 I started the Internet Department for Acura & Audi. Then in 2008 is when the car videos all started up! 2010 is when I left Acura & Audi and started my own car dealership video business. So far today I've built TH-cam channel for over 18 car brands & dealerships. So enjoy my channel and hopefully you can learn something new! I've owned my 2014 Soul for 4 years so far. Drove it off the lot brand new, now have 82,000 miles on it so far. Still love it!
Better hang onto it. They don't make them like that anymore, unfortunately.
Still have my 2010 Soul that had 7 miles on it when I bought it. Now close to 168,000 miles on it and still running like a champ! Get you some!

Which engine variant and how has your kmpl numbers been
As nice as it is to see the all singing all dancing versions of the new 2018 soul. It would be more helpful to the average person to see the basic model too.
I have the base model of this and I love it. Under the floor of the rear hatch is more storage that's fairly deep if they don't come with the spare tire. My came with a tire filling kit and I like that better because I don't want to change a flat tire. Also, the glove compartment is very deep and can hold a lap top. One of the things I like best about the base model is that the tires aren't low profile being on 16" wheels so the ride is comfortable on most roads. My fuel mileage is excellent I average 32.5 MPG in the summer and 35.5 in non-air conditioned weather.

The moment the Kia Soul with Awd and turbo hits the lot, I will be there testing it. And if I got it, I will buy a hamster head costume just to freak out people in a parking lot.
ha ha I'd like to film you wearing that costume if you live in Charleston. That would be really funny to see, but on a serious note. I filmed this video many many months ago. Have they not released a Turbo AWD Soul yet?
Originally it was a concept for a 2015 release. Now rumors hint at a 2020 model year. Yes it does look like a rip off version of a Jeep renegade. Heavy canvas top style rollback, roof racks. Burgundy chocolate interior all the Kia Soul design cues. I think they haven’t done it yet for it might cut into the Sorento’s sales numbers and at the last auto show the Telluride concept popped up. Either that or Kia hasn’t gotten around to re-designing their AWD system to fit the chassis for the Soul and choosing how much additional ground clearance will be needed yet still keep it close enough to make it easy to enter and exit. But if you want to see sheer off-road hamster fun check the Kia Soul Trailster concept. No voice over or specs mentioned. Just Kia doing some coasting up and down forest trails like a Mini Cooper Countryman can handle.
I just bought a 2016 Kia Soul base model with the key start and M/T. Insurance premium just about doubled on this car due to the fact that this is one of the Kia models that can be easily stolen. Other than being somewhat gutless, it is a fun little car. One of the options available for this model is the remote keyless entry. I've read that this option has to be enabled through the BCM (Body Control Module). Does this have to be done by a Kia dealer or can an automotive locksmith do it? I would really like to have the keyless entry on this car.
I've got one just like that silver one right behind the one featured in this video same silver color too mine is not the base base model but the base it has the backup camera and the uvo system it doesn't have leather interior or navigation but it does have some nice options for a base model the soul is one sweet ride now I know why I see so many of them

We hit a small deer with our 2014. They totaled it cause air bag deployed.Pitiful. Body shop said it was fixable.
The car looks nice the only thing I don’t like about the car is the shifter it’s kinda girly.

He was in the top of the line Exclaim model. Probably 23-260000.
$22k base for the Exclaim (!) trim the one in the review had the tech package ($3000) and the pano sunroof ($1000) plus rear spoiler, auto dim mirror with homelink and some other extras. The gray one next to it is what I have and it's MSRP was $28k - they don't deal a ton on these as they're the most popular model (Soul) that Kia sells with around 155000 units last year. $13,000 was the base price for the previous generation (2010-2013) - You may be able to find the previous year's for the high 16's but they're probably gone....
I would pick that model over the gt model
They are the same line. They just started calling them the GT line in 2020. Well that's what the person at the dealership told me!? Who knows? But I do know that they have the same features. I have this same model that's in the video. Mine is black though.
2018 and no AWD, /sigh, why?
Rumor has it that 2019 or 2020 will offer AWD. For about $2,000 more you can get a similarly equipped Subaru Crosstrek ($30-31k) and comes standard with AWD. I had a 2015 XV and sold it - now I have a Soul !. Honestly, with winter tires I think the Soul should do just fine. The Crosstrek was a champ but it was time to get a new one (I drive a lot for work). The Subarus will hold their value much better than Kia but you'll also pay more and won't get as much in the way of discounts from a Subaru dealer. Kia is the last to offer the "box" style car - The Scion xB is no more, the Nissan Qube is no more, Honda doesn't make the Element and of those only Honda made a 4wd/AWD version.

Just so everyone knows, got in one for a test drive yesterday, the back up indicators do move... when you do!!!
Also for future videos, please be kind enough to just point the center console air conditioning vents up... especially since you commented you don’t want them interfering with your video... it was so annoying I quite watching at that point!!! Better luck next time, also please get familiar with the vehicles ahead of time, very unprofessional

Kia should have left off the red stripe. Looks pretty stupid on the colors that it clashes with. And the 2020s and 2021s look like old woman cars, inside and out. They are no longer funky and unique and have joined the race to make the ugliest car with all the other car makers. They also have the crappy "1 speed CVT" transmissions now. Hate them. Way to go Kia. You completely ruined a great vehicle.

good question. I know most newer cars take synthetic and it helps with not having to change the oil as much. I'm not exactly sure tho. Maybe try doing a google search and see what pops up. Chad
