Harry I would like to mention 2 things. 1. You've just done the EASIEST leg of the whole brave/daft escapade (!!!!). 2. There is an old saying that goes "the boat will often take much more of a sea than you". I wish you well on this amazingly well produced series, but do hope the lifting seas you will start to get as you head deeper into Cornwall won't put you off! It's great to see you admitting your mistakes and mishaps ....especially in the case of not checking charts for lulworth ranges hahaha. Personally id advise not putting to sea in Goodwin in any more than 15- 20mph wind unless the land mass is such to reduce the sea. But you will learn as you go ! The best series on you tube!
IT'S LIKE A PROPER BOAT! Just rewatching the series for the third time. You should upload the singing in the lighthouse section from part 7 as a promotional clip. Can't wait for the next one Harry!
You were lucky enough to have an aluminium propeller broken. If you had a stainless steel one you could have the engine's shaft broken! However, I am really excited with what you did and I can't wait till next May that I will start from Piraeus to do the Round of Europe trip on board a 6 m. r.i.b.
This Englishman in Vegas is reliving the English weather, choppy channel and wonderful southern coast with your terrific adventure story. Keep it up fellas 👍
OK, here's question. What makes something really great? Perhaps we've gone to see a film and it turned out to be spellbinding? Or a piece of music that we can't get out of our heads. If someone was to ask what it was that made the experience so profound we probably couldn't say. Perhaps the answer is something deep inside us, we are incredibly complex creatures each moved by different things. The misanthropist Harry has hit all of the right buttons, the music, the drone footage, the guests; everything just knits together perfectly. Good on you Harry, you've made a great many people happy with your superb adventure.
Great video. Reminds me of a trip my brother and I did in a 12ft Zodiac from Chicago to the Gulf of Mexico by river. I think it was around 1200 to 1300 miles and we did it in 13 days. Brutally long hot days, running out of fuel and dodging water moccasin snakes but the pain has faded in memory and now I just remember all the amazing things we saw and the people we met. Bravo setting up a crazy adventure and following through!
Love your Videos! I've just turned 40, have a daughter under 10, work etc etc... i bought a 17ft speed boat with a 30hp 3 years ago and it hasn't moved of the trailer in that time. Your vides give me hope that one day she will meet the ocean. But for now I'm living the dream through you. Keep up the great content! Cheers from Merimbula, Australia 👍
Ballsy chaps. GREAT JOB. I am a RIB enthusiast in Florida and take my RIB on 30 plus round trips into the 10,000 wilderness south of the Everglades. EPIC.
Really the best series available for hhe moment. It’s got all the ingredients to be a real adventure - 4m open RIB, stretch goal, winter weather, rough camping... I really hope and pray that you continue - I’m living my life vicariously theough you!
I don't care if you finish this journey. It's already succeeded in my eyes. Adventures full of childlike wonder! Love it! Thanks for the effort to film and edit it man!!
Power to you for having the fortitude and gumption to undertake this. Keep an eye on the weather, the tides and potential dangers. The ocean will kill you with complete indifference in conditions that you thought were safe only moments before. Buy a UK cruising guide, it doesn't cost much and always check for conditions! Good luck, your adventure is lots of fun to watch. Good on you!
The way you say “we’re looking at a seal in the tender” cracked me up. It’s the excitement of messing about in boats with your mates. Doesn’t get better than that. Safe trip.
I've just come in from walking the dog in the rain thats on the verge of turning into snow. Put your video on and i could feel the warmth of the sun on my back after 5 minutes. Cheers.
As a brightonian lifer, I used to love going sailing with a friend and later taking a speed boat out of Brighton marina. The view from the channel looking north with Brighton as the view is my favourite view of my city. Good luck. (8 started to watch 3 before remembering I'd not seen part 2)
Whitnell and I the nautical remake. As a sailor I'm cringing but also loving this very innocent voyage into coastal sailing......just try to avoid the live firing ranges in future and good luck and keep safe.
DON'T GIVE UP! I am waiting to see what you think of the Northumberland coast especially a lovely place called DRURIDGE BAY. Beautiful sandy beaches not like some of the pebble beaches down south. Cannot wait for episode 3!!!
The water it puls and puls cant wait go out again and again love sailing love motor ribs and cant wait to make the same voyage you are undertaking whit my dad
@@AirCrash1 Goodwin has a propeller and depth gauge hanging off the back, both of which were broken last time he took it ashore. I guess for the sake of not damaging the larger boat he bought the little blow up dinghy
@@HisnameisRich I live on the Southern Ocean, you can't legally take a boat out without 2 engines and 2 props. All critical systems must have redundancy...this was discovered about 500 years ago. If he had just prepared his boat for offshore ocean use then he could have completed the mission without interruption. He would also have discovered that your skin starts to fall off after about 10 days if you can't dry it off. A long journey in an open boat is only possible if you can keep dry for a few hours each day. I challenge him to do the same mission solo as I reckon the only reason he is continuing is because he know he wont die alone..lol Also depth gauge and 10ft boat like wtf? if you can't see with your own eyes water that is too shallow for a 10ft boat then you should not be out there. This is just a clown show for TH-cam the surf rescue where I live uses the same type of boats with a single outboard and they just fit a prop guard so they can beach without damage. Any small boat going offshore must be able to cope with multiple capsizes which means everything on board is kept in waterproof containers lashed down at all times. A small boat on the ocean can be blown across the surface like tumble-weed in a squall. I reckon one capsize of Goodwin and this foolish endeavour will be over.
@@AirCrash1 Certainly takes balls to do what he is. Having said what you have he never seems too far from the shore. You make some good points, but in the Australian Army we use Zodiacs and found that prop guards cause cavitation which results in a reduction in speed and breakages to the prop shafts. Not ideal for our use when we end up with a third of our craft unusable.

Hi Harry, I just recently started watching your videos. One thing I must say is your attitude to life is a positive one. Your channel has grown a lot and you have become an inspiration to many! That prop replacement many would not touch on the water, but you have a can do approach and I really like that keep up the great videos and stay safe out there!
Thanks for watching, there's more prop changing in an upcoming episode i'm yet to edit. In this new one we take the advice of a TH-cam comment and use an upturned umbrella over the water to catch the washers and nuts as they fling off!
It might be worth your while to install the transducer inside the boat so it doesn't get torn off again. The new depth gauges can transmit a signal through the hull of a fiberglass boat.

To protect the new prop you should look into getting a prop cage, we use them in Australian surf lifesaving to allow us to beach our rescue boats at speed. It would make beaching a lot easier for you, especially on the rocky shores you have over there.
Fantastic videos looking forward to following your trip. having done a few hundred mile in a 4mtr inflatable around the west coast of Scotland I know you will enjoy it up there just keep at it!!!

The sea, a small boat, friendship, a proper adventure. At this moment my favorite TH-cam channel.
Still my favourite! Episode 14 we are waiting patiently sir. Greetings from Salisbury
A whole 35 minutes of my current favourite TH-cam series. Love the videos, keep it up!

Agreed, I think it’s refreshing to see something down to Earth.
