For strings that are removed by impressing you, as you did with starting with Wretch, you could have a few written down. So if they do them, you can always point to them and say So-and-so, now have one string removed. And also, add a few cringe traps to add a string. Like for example first one to pick up the Flask of Wondrous Physick or something similar get a string added.
Also, what if the contestants can win things to sabotage the other contestants. Like sending someone to fight another boss or making another contestant stop what they are doing and instead make them do something else like a scavenger hunt like collecting 10 mushrooms and 20 Rowa Fruit.
I really liked the strings concept, hope you have more of these. Just set some ground rules like "only the first hitless / +0" boss kill gets strings and stuff like that. This game show concept has a ton of potential, you're always innovating Chris, rock on! Also, "cheating" a little with the strings distribution towards whoever is last could make it more competitive, and the strings could be worth more time, maybe 2 minutes.
@@star0chris Yeah, I'm going through it now, I actually watched Aggy's perspective when it happened. But anyway, keep evolving this, hopefully one day you can make it a league or cup or something like Bingo Brawlers evolved. Tremendous potential here.
@@DiegoSouto-fy9su I think it's a cool format but it would have to change massively to become a competitive, i.e. not based on one person's whims on how impressed they are.
@@yuza1032 Well, I kinda agree, there'd have to be ground rules added. But the charm and innovation of it are Chris' whims, it's about finding the sweet spot in how that will influence the competition without making it weird. Trial and error will lead to that sweet spot eventually.
@@DiegoSouto-fy9su I'd like to keep his influence an element of the game I just think it suits a more casual format series compared to a tournament like Bingo, unless they really leaned into the meme of him as a sadistic DM. Like potentially other people could come on as host/judge or they take turns doing it.
For the Timer thing: You could have a thing that's like "This is a short timer" if it's 5-6 minutes, or "This is a long timer" if it's 9-10 minutes, that way it's not exactly known, but it's more than just like "There is a timer, it's somewhere between 5-10 minutes"
I really appreciated you putting the discussion/feedback section in the video. It helps to invite feedback from comments somewhat, but mostly I’m just impressed by the transparency of it. Many creators would not have the humility to showcase a 3 minute segment of people critiquing them at the end of such a high-effort production.
Excellent format, would love to see more like this. Really cool to race to a quest objective and not just "finish the game". I also liked how Aggy smashed it purely by racing fast enough to negate a high string count. 5 stars, will watch again.
I honestly think one of my favorite parts about this video was the objective. It was a nice change of pace to not just be another "Generic speedrun" of beating all bosses or getting a certain amount of great runes. My favorite wheel/minigame was where they had to make another save and try to kill the grafted scion, I like the idea of having another mini-speedrun inside the speedrun, that everyone starts at the same point and you can see how everyone approaches the problem at the same time. I also think it could be fun to have the strings be more penalties than just "time" at the end. When I saw "strings attached" I was thinking something like handicaps of using a specific weapon, or not being allowed to jump, or something similar to that. Maybe having some handicaps that players could volunteer to take and if they abide by the rules of a certain handicap for a set amount of time (or like until the next wheel spin) they could remove some strings depending on the challenge, and if they break it, end up with more strings.
Having a separate wheel for minigames that comes around either on a schedule, or when you feel it is appropriate, I feel would avoid quit out fatigue as it happened in this game. Also, I think for subjective calls, it might sting less for the person in 4th if you work backwards. If you can pinpoint the winner based on logic, then 2nd etc., it's less "you are last cause you suck" and more "you are last cause others were demonstrably closer to the criteria". Fun concept, keen to see it evolve
i like the minigames as they break up the flow of the runners, it throws in a wrench that no one can plan for. instead of killing boc, how about killing kalle or killing patches (or pope turtle if you want to be evil). Its a bit slower but it throws the same wrench in their plans. maybe a tierlist of weapons to use on a certain boss? i.e. whip on redahn is -2 strings, hitless renala -2, dagger on baneful shadow -1. just some ideas i had, But overall HIGHLY entertaining to watch keep up the good content mr. 0chris👍
For what it's worth as a random commenter I have some suggestions on how I think the game could be improved as a spectator. Consider mini-games that can be done without existing the game so you can keep the momentum up, e.g. asking trivia about Elden Ring or the spelling bee while playing. That way they have to juggle decisions while playing the game. Take out some of the harsh punishments because as a player it's demotivating to lose progress for no reason without competing. Like "lose highest upgraded weapon" should be a consequence of losing a minigame so it feels deserved and encourages rivalry. It's fun to see people suffer but if it's completely arbitrary it loses it's bite. Make tasks inconvenient but doable, e.g. invert controls/change your control scheme for next 5 minutes, cosplay as a particular enemy or NPC and the most impressive wins. The goal is to avoid being "last" in the pecking order moreso than being first because that is where the harshest punishment could be.
Thanks for the feedback :) I think having powerful wheel spins like lose your weapon that applies to everyone is good since it would prevent players from doing the most obvious routing for the race and instead promotes more interesting ideas
@@star0chris That makes sense, I hadn't really considered how that meta-knowledge would affect the game. Anyway, I'm happy you're discussing the format with your players and they're the main people to listen to. Love the videos.
12:30 To be fair, under the law (at least here in switzerland) pets and animals are considered objects, and thus are 'things' (they are considered objects, so for example stealing them goes under theft, injuring or killing them goes under destruction of property, and as well, so that the owner of the animal/pet can be held liable of they hurt other people/pets)
i like how lilaggy at the end there when his screen shows load game screen has a character called YEP rock that is 53 minutes into the game and is at 163 level somehow
They’re all using cheats and character editors to set up different runs. There is a mod that allows you to buy any item in the game from Kale for 0 runes.
In terms of letting the contestants know the timer, it might be worth letting people know when 4 minutes have elapsed. That way they can make the choice to gamble on a boss fight and possibly have to quit out 1 min later or wait at the fog gate for potentially 6 minutes.
In regards to the end feedback, I personally REALLY like the unpredictability of the wheel, and the "subjectiveness" of the mini games. Specifically with the cool items one, they were trying to impress and pitch the item to YOU, the host, which to me was really fun. It all adds to make it a more whimsy in a charming way, and I think that's what makes this series so great. The more regimented and "fair" it is, I think the more it loses out
To add, I think the strings removed for "oh he picked Wretch" also just makes it more fun for everyone involved. The players have to go out of their way to try and do potentially miniscule but different things to try and get an edge. It's spontaneous, it's different, it's interesting.
I reckon to spice things up a bit, being more generous with the "I did a cool thing" strings and gifting proportionate string losses to how much time it took to do the thing could be cool. That way you don't just end up with a net negative by making a fight take way longer, and then only getting 1 min worth of strings back. And therefore to rebalance the string economy, make the wheelspin timer longer, but make the string rewards/punishments from wheel tasks more significant.
I like the convept, and I think this round was better than the last one, but I think one thing that could be improved is the mini-games. A lot of the mini-games in this round were pretty time consuming, with each player taking time to create/find something, then present it, then get judged, etc. And it kills some of the momentum of the race. I felt like most of them went on too long. I liked the Grafted Scion minigame because all four players could do it at once, and it was a lot more exciting to watch. I think the mini-games need to be quicker overall, have a clear goal like killing Grafted Scion or finishing the Wordle from the last round, and not be judged so that they finish quickly and keep the action moving.
Pre-prepared checklist is an awesome idea. Give the players a couple as a sort of bait with high risk, but keep the majority of them secret - some only attainable by 1 player: * Be the first to kill a boss with a remembrance weapon * Be the first to upgrade flasks to +5 That sort of thing. Maybe some random events like modifications to the goal. * Killing Leonine Misbegotten is now required. * Must clear X Catacombs or Y Tunnel. * Players have 15 minutes to obtain X tear, or Y weapon. * Players must kill a boss with an upgraded weapon. * Flasks are now forbidden for 15 minutes * Weapons with bleed are forbidden for 15 minutes. * Sorceries are forbidden for 15 minutes. Secret stuff would be like the cutscene. Sometimes events don’t have to be followed through either. Rather than complete Millicent’s questline, have players move her to Altus, or move another NPC, or collect a specific bell bearing. But yes, checklist 100%. Likely an Excel spreadsheet with various generalizations. Sure it puts more work on you as a host, but ensures a fairer (and much tighter) competition. Excited for the next one!
This is such a cool concept with a lot of potential and imo can be better than most other competitions with bingo and what not though with what aggy said maybe having some mini games that don't require the players to quit the game could be more fun like trivia or something like that to encourage players to maybe take a risk for playing longer and risk the wheel spin
33:30 Domo's advice.... LOL. I had fun watching this. It's always great to see Yojo just being the best dude he is and hanging out and be the best sport there is....
This was great! One thing you might be able to compromise on is have the random timer as you currently do, but maybe give a warning that the wheel will be spun when there is one minute left. It still has that element of randomness but lets people feel less like they're getting screwed. They won't be able to completely plan around it and could lead to situations where they are scrambling under the pressure, which sounds like it could be entertaining.
Kind of like the idea of this as a bachelorette style dating show, where all the minigames are themed around proving what a ranni-simp you are by rememberingkey details about her character model and lore.
The strings concept and new mini games and returning ones we're fantastic and I love the fact that there's the bonus with the mini games and winning so that players can compete in the next challenge gaurnteed I don't remember who all was in the first challenge I think it was today's cast too but still smart and generous of you to try and get everyone in on this challenge series Chris, my only critique is to make some harder challenges for the wheel that aren't mini games you could use some bingo squares if you want but I can also see too many bingus squares as wheel spins would be a bit less creative Anyway enjoyed the vid my dude
Chris probably does the most fun challenge runs and Elden Ring content ideas I'm kinda regretting I havent subbed for this long after seeing him in Aggy videos.
Peak Content! A little fuzzing and this could be the new Bingo Brawlers or 0Hit League! Nice fomat, cool guests and host. Loved every second. Have my Like Sir and take care, looking forward for more. And btw, all the Fun imaginable for the DLC :) !
I love that domo was still going through the challenge even after all that feedback talk. Still had to kill adula and get to ranni, dude didn’t give up
I think she would've came in higher if she didn't title it as a Haiku. it's a perfectly fine poem if not for the initial "LOL THAT'S NOT A HAIKU 🤭" aspect of it
This was a blast to watch, I'm excited to see more of this! I really enjoy the subjectiveness of the mini games, it gives it the vibe of something like Taskmaster, where there is some inherent unfairness which can create friction and debates, lets you rig things to keep the competition active without anyone feeling it's hopeless, and just adds the feeling of playing to the judge instead of it being an objective measure. Leaning a bit more into that with the "please the puppet master" energy will help that feel morelike an intentional theme instead of having too much friction with the on the spot decisions. Splitting things into two wheels might also be a good idea, so you can alternate between in-game challenges and mini games, so the scary events like discarding a weapon or dying can be spaced out, and the quit outs for mini games don't come back to back, helping the pacing and fatigue from repetition, plus it helps the randomness not feel as severe for boss interruptions. Having a list of what you'd consider impressive given the route for the goal while also leaving room for interesting creative ideas would probably help too: the free form nature of it is great, but some consistent structure you can reference back to when there's doubt or conflict can help with presentation confidence. The confusion and creativity for the players is great, so having those consistent details be largely obfuscated to them is fun, with the added consistency you already decided on at the end of this video. Anyways, there's my jumbled thoughts on it, great work, this is a great idea for a semi regular thing and I'm excited to see how the dlc shakes things up!
Thanks for all the feedback and I'm glad you enjoy :) Also yeah basically everything you mentioned I did for the next Strings Attached episode (video soonish) except for the 2 wheels. I did split it up though and decided to just do a minigame (that I chose which one myself) or spin the wheel whenever the timer was up, but yeah 2 separate wheels could be better
I like this mario party version of elden ring lol, maybe make note of the cool things players do throughout and give those out as "bonus stars" at the end rather than announcing them as they go. Could cause some more surprising twist endings
This is really good as a concept. That being said the criteria for what is impressive to Chris feels a little arbitrary. I think there should be known criteria for each boss and minigame that way the players can race to tack on bonuses. This is a great concept please keep making more ❤
I really loved the video, but my favorite part was how you had the integrity to keep in the Q&A session at the end. It was very big of you to seek criticism, and you accepted it very well
Yo chris i know you always like comments like a maniac, but i wanted to tell you that your vids have become something of a comfort zone for me and when i want to relax i watch any of your challenge runs and it brings me so much happiness and peace idk. Keep doing what youre doing youre insane + W streamer
i’m loving these competitions! it’s getting more refined and entertaining. feels like elden ring mario party style 😆 seeing everyone try to impress you was cute/funny. especially when eventually you were like ‘eh’. can’t wait to see the next competition!
I definitely need more of these concepts. I've seen so many "Elden Ring but I only do X" or "every boss x50 at lvl1" and it's getting a little stale. So this stuff is really fun and refreshing. Although, if I had to name one aspect I'd like to see changed in coming projects it's the definition of what does and doesn't reward the runner. That way they don't do any crazy strats that gain them nothing in the end. (I know it has been said before but I wanted to chime in anyway).
Mb add mechanic which revolves around the number of strings the player currently has. For example, the more strings you have you need to get worse punishes. Mb like, person with the least amount of strings needs to destroy only current armor, and the one with the most, needs to destroy all of it. It creates negative feedback loop for comebacks, but mb make it so, successfully completing a punishment removes more strings for them. I just like the lore idea, that the more string you have - you get worse punishments. Also you can add some betting mechanic, like, I m betting N strings for completing this boss hitless. Or straight up items, like your are immune to the next challenge, or make another person complete a challenge, something like that.
The impressive things should be listed beforehand I think! You can have the list for ur stream or just to show after and that way the runners dont need to keep asking/begging for something to remove strings. I also liked somebody elses idea about doing the minigames while the run continues. Trivia/spelling bee sort of stuff could be fun to pressure the runners in intense moments
Poor Domo. Great vid! I think you should somehow balance the mini games so they aren't all at the end like this Maybe set every 4 spins is guaranteed a mini game
Great video again Mr. Chris. Also what you can do about the timer what Aggy was mentioning, you can share the time and when it goes to like 2 minutes or so you hide it so they know it's close but they don't know the exact time of the spin. Just a food for thought :D.
As I was watching I was thinking: to prevent the wheel from giving you too many minigames in a row or non-minigames in a row, you could have 2 wheels, one for minigames and one for other stupid tasks/commands. Then you could time them around each other, and do say 3 tasks/commands, and then do a minigame. I’m sure having no structure makes it way more fun and unpredictable lmao, but at least that way the contestants could maybe at least know that the next wheel spin would be a minigame? Just trying to throw an idea out there 👍
once again, commenting that NSA3 is very strong. i like the direction NSA2 took but i am glad points arent arbitrary or "subjective" anymore. the wheel + mini games are great mix-ups but i think the "secret objectives" are the magic bullet. also your choice of players deserves a shoutout, i know aggy and its nice to watch/discover new souls streamers! idk how many more episodes you're gonna make, i will for sure watch out for #4!

Really dope concept! I definitely would love to see more!
Loved the concept, great vid! My favorite souls creator!!
33:30 Domo's advice.... LOL. I had fun watching this.
It's always great to see Yojo just being the best dude he is and hanging out and be the best sport there is....
The revenge subplot between BB and Aggy was _golden_ LMAO
And we learned once again, Revenge never pays off lol
This was great!
One thing you might be able to compromise on is have the random timer as you currently do, but maybe give a warning that the wheel will be spun when there is one minute left. It still has that element of randomness but lets people feel less like they're getting screwed. They won't be able to completely plan around it and could lead to situations where they are scrambling under the pressure, which sounds like it could be entertaining.
Kind of like the idea of this as a bachelorette style dating show, where all the minigames are themed around proving what a ranni-simp you are by rememberingkey details about her character model and lore.
The strings concept and new mini games and returning ones we're fantastic and I love the fact that there's the bonus with the mini games and winning so that players can compete in the next challenge gaurnteed I don't remember who all was in the first challenge I think it was today's cast too but still smart and generous of you to try and get everyone in on this challenge series Chris, my only critique is to make some harder challenges for the wheel that aren't mini games you could use some bingo squares if you want but I can also see too many bingus squares as wheel spins would be a bit less creative
Anyway enjoyed the vid my dude
This but with a randomizer attached should be on the menu at some point
a fun idea could be to spin a wheel at the end to see how much time a string is worth, just for the chaos
So good i was laughing a lot in this video, such a cool concept. Great content Chris
no hitting red wolf and radahn but then dying to mimic tear twice is such a mood
Chris probably does the most fun challenge runs and Elden Ring content ideas I'm kinda regretting I havent subbed for this long after seeing him in Aggy videos.
Bri: "I have all the details that matter except the feet apparently"
Ranni stans will tell you you're missing the ONLY detail that matters
Peak Content! A little fuzzing and this could be the new Bingo Brawlers or 0Hit League! Nice fomat, cool guests and host. Loved every second. Have my Like Sir and take care, looking forward for more. And btw, all the Fun imaginable for the DLC :) !
I love that domo was still going through the challenge even after all that feedback talk. Still had to kill adula and get to ranni, dude didn’t give up
The bias is real in the minigames
Bri genuinely had either the first or second best poem
Nah, solid 4th. A rotten land squirt is better.
Ikr
I think she would've came in higher if she didn't title it as a Haiku.
it's a perfectly fine poem if not for the initial "LOL THAT'S NOT A HAIKU 🤭" aspect of it
It was well worded, but it wasn't a poem at all tho
It wasn’t a poem. Yosh’s was easily the best
Thanks for all the feedback and I'm glad you enjoy :)
Also yeah basically everything you mentioned I did for the next Strings Attached episode (video soonish) except for the 2 wheels. I did split it up though and decided to just do a minigame (that I chose which one myself) or spin the wheel whenever the timer was up, but yeah 2 separate wheels could be better
This was super fun to watch, Chris. Love your content. Also, Josh is killing those mini games. Great poem and paintings. Josh is so talented.
brie got robbed on the poem one
Thank you. I was getting bored while I waited for the DLC to drop.
When they started doing the spelling bee, I could almost hear Ludwig telling us he was an english major
Just finished the previous "fun" race, so this is a great surprise to see that a new one just came out c:
I like this mario party version of elden ring lol, maybe make note of the cool things players do throughout and give those out as "bonus stars" at the end rather than announcing them as they go. Could cause some more surprising twist endings
Domo should’ve been last in the poem competition, it sounded like a last minute middle school poem and I think even he would agree
for sure the most fun Elden Ring video i've watched in a while. Super excited to see where this goes!
This is really good as a concept. That being said the criteria for what is impressive to Chris feels a little arbitrary. I think there should be known criteria for each boss and minigame that way the players can race to tack on bonuses. This is a great concept please keep making more ❤
40:13 - If you ask Miyazaki, the feet matter most
Josh, best voice in the business
I really loved the video, but my favorite part was how you had the integrity to keep in the Q&A session at the end. It was very big of you to seek criticism, and you accepted it very well
Marry Ranni
YoJosherino: "I don't even know if I know how to do this!"
Never been more disappointed. He has sinned in many ways.
Yo chris i know you always like comments like a maniac, but i wanted to tell you that your vids have become something of a comfort zone for me and when i want to relax i watch any of your challenge runs and it brings me so much happiness and peace idk. Keep doing what youre doing youre insane + W streamer
Thanks for the kind words :)
There's no shot the best drawing got called the worst. This is riot material.
pls keep this series going it’s amazing
i’m loving these competitions! it’s getting more refined and entertaining. feels like elden ring mario party style 😆 seeing everyone try to impress you was cute/funny. especially when eventually you were like ‘eh’. can’t wait to see the next competition!
The format is super fun to watch. The contestants got very creative in an attempt to please chris, so it was very unpredictable but enjoyable
(I know it has been said before but I wanted to chime in anyway).
lol the infinite screens in the upper left at 12:20
Bri showed up with the best poem, legitimately leagued above the rest
This was such a fun watch. Great video concept. Looking forward to your next video
Lil aggy beating the corruption just like cr7,I know ny goat
In Bree’s defense a noun is a person, place, or thing. Dog would fall under “thing” category, justice for doggo!! Dogs are very cool.
Bri got robbed in the poem minigame especially when there was Josh's 😂
gotta do more like this! this concept may be my fav Elden ring vid
32:12 underrated joke
Lmao for real, best joke of the race. I didn't even realize Domo said that until watching the video back hahaha
39:34 telling aggy he got the eye on the wrong side when hes the only one who got it right is criminal
it's on the wrong side tho. it's meant to be on her right side
It's on her right eye, Melina has her eye thing on the left eye
But have you considered that she's looking in a mirror??
the wheel should be like a 20 second warning, so you dont always know but you know right before its gonna happen
It’s like a combo of bingo, um actually and taskmaster? I like it, quite entertaining!
For next time you can invite gino and cbd and aggy, gino, yojo and cbd's speedrun will be cool
These are so much fun, and I think they'll just get better as the format is refined
Josh would do a killer Postal Dude impression.
I actually agree with the players seeing the timer. Cause I think they can also strategize tanking the string
Poor Domo. Great vid!
I think you should somehow balance the mini games so they aren't all at the end like this
Maybe set every 4 spins is guaranteed a mini game
You should get chat to vote on some of the more subjective mini-games, judging poetry is tough. Hoping to see more episode of this, super fun concept!
This is always so fun to watch! Keep cooking for more content ideas too! Absolutely love it❤
Dude you are the king of souls comedy holy shit this was a blast
Great video again Mr. Chris. Also what you can do about the timer what Aggy was mentioning, you can share the time and when it goes to like 2 minutes or so you hide it so they know it's close but they don't know the exact time of the spin. Just a food for thought :D.
The content lately has been fire. This is another banger!
did i just come across an actual elden ring GAME SHOW??? i hope this video pops off its rly fun
I'm so glad I get to watch this in the stupid hour I have to wait for the dlc.
Until it came up here I actually forgot that Fort Laiedd even existed lol
As I was watching I was thinking: to prevent the wheel from giving you too many minigames in a row or non-minigames in a row, you could have 2 wheels, one for minigames and one for other stupid tasks/commands. Then you could time them around each other, and do say 3 tasks/commands, and then do a minigame. I’m sure having no structure makes it way more fun and unpredictable lmao, but at least that way the contestants could maybe at least know that the next wheel spin would be a minigame? Just trying to throw an idea out there 👍
love the video, id like to suggest a minigame, players have one minute to find the coolest item in the game they can find and do a show and tell on it
once again, commenting that NSA3 is very strong. i like the direction NSA2 took but i am glad points arent arbitrary or "subjective" anymore. the wheel + mini games are great mix-ups but i think the "secret objectives" are the magic bullet. also your choice of players deserves a shoutout, i know aggy and its nice to watch/discover new souls streamers!
idk how many more episodes you're gonna make, i will for sure watch out for #4!
“People normally mix up the N and Ls in rennala” even more so with the dlc out
