The life-extension obsessives keep dying at ordinary ages, like Dr. Roy Walford, for example. Back in the 1990's Walford was the Bryan Johnson of his time, writing books and giving talks about his self-experimentation with caloric restriction to decelerate his aging and trying to live to at least 120 years in good shape. He died short of his 80th birthday in 2004, and then the life-extension obsessives just stopped talking about him all of a sudden, perhaps out of embarrassment.
This has happened to similar self-delusional people as well, like FM-2030, David Kekich and Saul Kent. I'm willing to bet that today's examples, like Bryan Johnson, Serge Faguet, Aubrey de Grey and Ray Kurzweil, also won't be able to escape the tyranny of the actuarial tables.
