Since moving to the Verde Valley 20 years ago, i found your videos, with my focus on petroglyphs, very inspiring to explore the great 4 Corners. Wally talks about the Anasazi culture, explaining their dependence on slave trade. They seemed to copy much of the Aztecs traditions.

Thanks for sharing Alex. Recently I was in turkey at an archeological site Catalhoyuk 7000bc. Looking around (like you do :) I saw lots of pottery. It’s so exciting and makes it a lot more interesting than only being focused on what’s behind the red tape or glass. I left everything at the site were it belongs. Thanks again for your stories.
when you think about it, these days were not too long ago. How many generations? Who went which way, carried their genes in which direction? Where are the very descendants of the people now. If we could see an accurate time chart (that could not possibly exist) and who knows, the guy next to you at work could very well be one of these people and not have the slightest clue
What an enjoyable trek. Thanks Alex. I was imagining the thrill not would be to assemble all the pieces mod the black and white pottery shards in the shot of them laying on the ground as they were found. Cool stuff for sure.

Very nice treks of some gorgeous places to have once been lived in. It would be nice to take a more extensive look in those canyons to not only see what might be there but to explore the beauty of it all. :-)
You are truly walking in the foot steps of the ancient people's and your montage of still shots and videos show us exactly what they saw. Incredible work! Some of those cliff edge trail shots were kinda spooky. Especially for us flatlanders here in Florida. Thank you again for sharing these places were would never see. 🙏🏻🪶🙏🏻

Where can I find them? you should look into creating “playlists” Alex. thanks for all your work. creating playlists for each “genre”, or series of videos, would make navigating to, finding, watching and sharing your content easier. for example.. a playlist titled, “Finding Lost Civilizations (all parts)” and contained within are all 8 videos so we could then watch them in order. Or a playlist titled, “California native village locations” with a bunch of your central California videos within. just some thoughts. Thanks again. Best wishes.
Hello Alex, I've been watching your videos for a few months since I found them. I wish I could be there exploring with you because it must be so exciting. I've actually learned something that I never knew. I was out hiking with my photography group in southern New York and came across what looks like cupules in 3 places on the sides of huge rock formations and I took pictures of them. Any suggestions on how I can find out if they are real? One site I'm positive they must be. Now when I'm out hiking I'm looking for signs like the ones you point out in your videos. You do an awesome job! Thank you!
Made my day you out exploring again I always learn some thing amazing video..., I hope you never stop.....Going thru Yosemite and going south by mono lake and south , I want to get some pictures of sheep and a mountain lion petroglyphs going to little lake. And then little petroglyph canyon later this year....the petroglyph at 5:40 Is beautiful.......

laurels heart 1, thanks for watching the video and your question. The circle with a dot at its center is an ancient symbol used by various cultures with various meaning depending on the culture. For example, in some cultures it represented the solar system with the sun being the dot.................alex
One thing seems for certain the people that lived in these areas were trying to avoid/hide from some one hunting them. In the end of the Book of Mormon a prophet near the end of the book talked about how people were put to death who would not deny the Christ… The book of Mormon timeline ended about 700 years after Christ.

Anthropologists claim that the Anasazi are the ancestors of the modern Pueblo people's. I don't buy that hypothesis. I cannot believe that the artisans who built masterpieces like Chaco are the same people who built the crude dwellings that stand in the pueblos today.
I believe the current thought is that Anasazi were peoples who moved into the Southwest and 4 corners area from Mexico and further South. The local native people were very much afraid of these newcomers, and considered them enemies. I believe this is where the idea of slavery and cannibalism (practiced by southern indigenous peoples) came from. Ie, they conquered and enslaved the northern tribes. This is why the ruins commonly found are often high, and barely accessible , it's a defensive strategy. It may also be why some of these populations just up and vanished, for no apparent reason. It is accepted that the builders of Chaco Canyon were competent at astronomy and mathematical calculations, as well as land measurements. I think this was the more advanced culture which overran the cliff dweller/possible ancient puebloan populations. The ones that escaped are the ancestors of today's pueblo tribes. At least, this is what I'm gathering from other videos and documentaries. I was hoping to find more videos discussing this particular timeline of occupations in the Southwest/4 corners area.
