I ordered all the ingredients I needed for the coffee scrub and the rest I had so I didn't order the kit and I was going to make the scrub when my shipment came in and now the instructions to make it is not online. What's up with that ? You can only get the instructions only if you order the Bramble Berry Kit? You have the video here but doesn't say how much to use of all the ingredients.
Just because we don't buy the whole kit, how come the recipe is not available. I bought the items I needed on Bramble Berry and didn't get the recipe contents and it doesn't show the instructions unless you buy the kit. Now I have ingredients that I can't use for this particular scrub.
The coffee extract is optional, but it will change the texture of the scrub. We recommend replacing it with any lightweight, liquid oil of your choice such as avocado oil or sweet almond oil.
We used Optiphen as the preservative and our liquid soap concentrate as the liquid base. Any liquid will dissolve the sugar, but none of these are at a temperature high enough to make a difference. These people have been in business for over 30 years, I think they know what does and doesn't work for a sugar scrub.
I have a feeling it will be okay because they added oils first before the liquid soap. The soap is covered in oil which repels water. Sugar can take quite a bit of time to dissolve even in water.

No you can't, it changes the texture and makes it last a little less, as for the other perservatives, TaraLee has some good options.

We really like Optiphen for this recipe, it should last about a year when stored in a cool, dry place

U can use optiphen, but make sure it is only optiphen, and not optiphen plus. It will last 6-12 months depending on where you store it!

It actually doesn't. I make scrubs like this all the time and they are heavenly!
