I grew up with a happy Goodman family. Every Sunday morning we would run and turn on the TV before we went to Sunday school. The TV would say.” live from Pensacola, Florida., the happy Goodman family” and they would sing” jubilee”. We had the TV playing real loud while we were getting ready for Sunday school and church. What a way to start your morning.
Depois que eu conheci essas vozes abençoadas nunca mais deixei de ouvir los!!! ❤maravilha de Jesus ❤🙏🙏 parabéns pela postagem do vídeo. Cumprimentos aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷
LOVE every member of this group...all outstanding musicians...they're all singing in Heaven with the Angels now... P.S. It was the days of "big hair"...it was the "thing" that we all did, though not quite like Vestal's...but Vestal is a special lady and she can wear her hair (or wig) just however she wants to, IMHO!!!
Vestal said in her book that she could have hidden a football in her wig! After her heart surgery, she decided not to wear the wig anymore. A bunch of church women were very ugly to her for “cutting “ her hair. They really hurt her feelings.
@@barbaracox8613 Sorry to hear about the church women...but Vestal continued to outshine them all...as we get older, it becomes the wise thing to do to make adjustment to make life simpler and neater, frequently including a change in hair style...I know!!!
@@23Josilee I never heard of her until January’22. I was so upset when I realized she had died and had been dead for 18 years at that time. But I have learned a lot about her and I know she had to have been a wonderful woman.
A country where no twilight shadows deepen, Unending day where night shall never be. A city where no storm clouds ever gather, Now this is just what Heaven means to me. Chorus: What will it be when we get over yonder And join the throng upon the glassy sea? To greet our loved ones and crown Christ forever, Oh, this is just what Heaven means to me. And when at last we see the face of Jesus, Before whose image other loves all flee. And when they crown him Lord of all I'll be there, Now this is just what Heaven means to me.
My gosh! I needed this so bad right now! My husband of 55 years got COVID three years ago and it's been a nightmare for me ever since! Blood clots, cellulitis twice, pneumonia twice! I'm so exhausted!
We had no idea what nightmares were to come! My husband of 55 years got COVID and our lives have been turned upside down! He's never had sick, but a blood clot, cellulitis twice and pneumonia twice... our happy retirement turned into a nightmare! Twice I had to call EMS! We're both saved but he's 76yo and his family lives into their 80s and 90s!
Actually probably it was mid 60's. I was in nursing school & wore my hair up like that. But not quite that tall. She always had beautiful hair that made a statement called Vestal❤
Yes. I went to their concerts beginning in the early 60s. Had the honor of seeing Vestal at her last concert in 2003...I can't express how much the Goodmans' (ALL) have touched my life. ❤
Those how like this group, start it at time index 30:28 high note sing off between Mrs. Vestal & their Tenor Johnny Cook with the old Favorite "Looking for a City".
God bless them all singing in glory now!

Great singers and song writer’s they are singing over yonder around the THRONE OF GOD THE FATHER AND JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD!
I remember seeing them live over 50 years ago… where did the time go?

The hair was in the 70 or earlier- She is beautiful inside and out♥️♥️♥️

This is 1970's because of Johnny Cook being with the group. This was during Vestal's health ordeal.

One good thing about her then, she wore no makeup.
I don’t understand the reason for the hair? I expect a n opening and a minabird comes out!
How long is it and how long to get it up there? Do they sleep with it too?
@@donsnider4607 LOL~!!!
@@donsnider4607. It was a wig! 😊
Honey, this was long ago! Probably seventies or sixties! Different ball game then! Ha
That was called the beehive. So funny to look back at some of the hairstyles in the late 60's
Who is playing the steel guitar?
I believe it is Jack Smith. Someone supply a correction if that isn't right
Definitely Jack Smith. Good, isn't he. So tasteful. Passed away in auto accident, four or five years ago. Such a loss.
And no jewlery!
lol😉
