Naisha expresses her love for chocolate in the initial sentence, stating, "I love chocolate." This transforms into Naisha says that she loves chocolate. The reporting verb remains in the present tense, and I am curious about the potential number of mistakes that may arise later on.
1. She said that she loves pizza. 2. They said that they were going to the park. 3. He said that he had finished his homework. 4. She said that she couldn't come to the party. 5. He asked if I would help him. 6. The teacher instructed us not to touch that.

Good morning Tr. Chetna. I'm Moses hailing from The Republic of Uganda, currently enjoying Chetchat. It's such a fascinating lecture. Could you please deliver a lecture about essay writing for academic reasons, I stay awaiting for your consideration. Have a beautiful day.
I believe both are correct, because in cases of universal truth or facts, we do not change the tense. However, this statement is not *necessarily* a fact, so we can use either of the tenses
Hi mam😃 Thank u so much for ur wonderful class. This helped me a lot in exams.😊 I was so glad to hear ur classes and now that resulted a great change......❤ Thanks a lot..😊
Mam when the reporting verb is in present/future then the tense in the sentence doesn't changes But you changed in the example 1.Naisha says "I love chocolate" (Direct) Naisha said that she loved chocolate (indirect) Correct indirect is- Naisha says that she loves chocolate.
actually, you have also made a slight mistake it's not says rather it is said but your are indubitably correct that it shall be "Naisha said that she loves chocolate." as the verb is still continuing that is she still loves chocolate at the time of convenance.
I have learned allot, thanks ma'am... When ever i watched this video, i learned new concept. I am watching again and again when get confused... Thanks again ... I love the way you teachs...
Mam in the first example of chocolates the introductory verb is present and one of the rule is that present and future introductory verb having sentence didn't change anything in the past said things
Mam thnx for this video 🎉but the first sentence, Nisha says "I love chocolate" in indirect speech your sentence is wrong because if the reporting speech is in present or in future tence then there will be no changing in reporting and reported speech: thnx🎉🎉🎉

Very informative class Ma'am. One confusion if you wouldn't mind clearing.. at 8.24 minutes under "change the pronouns" the example of direct speech "He is tall," she said.. should the indirect speech be "She said that he "was" tall instead of "She said that he is tall" ? I thought it we needed to change the tense when we report a speech from the past or am I wrong Ma'am? If you can kindly elaborate on that as well? Thank you!

@@ChetChat101 Respected Ma'am, words are miserably inadequate to express my deepest feelings of gratitude to you for your accommodating gesture towards me; the way you solved the problem clearly speaks volumes for the fact that you are undisputedly the greatest grammarian of this generation.
Mam I have a small doubt please clarify this while explaining backshifting of tenses you said if the reporting speech is in present tense then the reported speech remains the same for example : time 13.35 He says . 'He loves his job' changed to He says that he loves his job . But in 2.25 Naisha says 'I love chololate ' changed to Naisha said that she loved chololate My doubt here is why Naisha says that she loves chocolate is not coming ? Please clarify mam

Teacher, when the reporting verb is in present tense (here, says) is it correct to say she loved choclates. Iam taught rhat there is no change in the reported verb(loves), for the reporting verb is in presebt tense. Pls comment.
Chetna, just a small correction; if the reporting verb is in the present or future tense, the verb in the reported speech is not changed at all. Therefore, the correct answer is: Naisha says that she loves chocolate. 😊
