At the beginning of this year, I came across this channel and instantly fell in love. Seeing Ithya and hearing the music on her journey really opened up my imagination. I started a DnD campaign with some friends and used the "Inspiring Music for Creatives" video a lot when I worked on the game. The campaign has had its ups and downs, a lot of figuring out what works and doesn't for a fun story-filled game. But overall I'm really proud of what I've been able to make and these videos help a lot with that. We had a season finale for the game which was awesome and we plan to continue it this coming year (tomorrow lol). I'm really excited to see where this game goes and I just wanna say thanks Blue Turtle for your help by putting out this music and beautiful animations. Tower Ultima wouldn't be the same without you.
And for everyone else, Happy New Years, I hope we're all able to accomplish what we set out to do in 2022. And even if we don't, there's always next year. Godspeed folks.

@@xeltanni8999 Welp. Unfortunately, the game's over.
We got a little farther into season 2 but I had to can it after that due to in-game drama. We had a "that guy" in our group. Specifically a power gamer we'll call Bob. Now I'm friends with Bob outside of the game and he's a swell guy. But I'd probably never play a TTRPG with him again unless certain promises were made.
Here's the long story, TLDR at the end.
I had run the game rather loosey-goosey with the rules which ended up becoming a problem. So I decided to get serious in season 2 and actually READ the DM's guide. Scary, I know READING. (I'm an author lol) anyways. There were a ton of changes I needed to make to the game since players were simply overpowered. I told the party about it, and everyone was totally on board.
      But not Bob.
Because Bob didn't want to play DnD, he wanted to play a power trip. I worked with him despite his obvious dislike with the changes being made, but he begrudgingly agreed. At this point I should have put my foot down as the DM and made it clear while he's a friend, I'm putting hours of effort into making a game while he has to do virtually nothing to play. I was doing way more work than necessary at the time, tons of maps, music, npc's all with different voices and backstories. It was a lot to juggle, and Bob wasn't making it easier. Just to give you an idea of how new to DMing I was, and how OP Bob was, I gave him two PLUS 7 kitanas.
      Yeah.
But with this new season, I was pulling it all back, retconning, making changes so this game could actually be run smoothly. But since Bob was the power gamer of the group, he thought everyone was ganging up on him, something I did everything in my power to make clear wasn't happening. We wanted to play with him, but he'd also been a jerk in-game which made it hard with characters to connect with him. I talked with him in private and with the group to show how to make his character into a likeable protagonist, something I thought he understood.
      Then, it all went wrong.
In a particularly intense moment of the game story-wise, an NPC friend of Bob's and an NPC friend of Jane's (not actual name) got into a fight with one another. Being the player characters, I was hoping they'd find a way to resolve this in a heroic way. Bob said to respect the 1v1 but Jane went to break up the fight. Seeing this, Bob used his two swords (nerfed at this point) and LITERALLY BACKSTABBED his fellow player. Bob chose NPC's over his fellow player. Jane was pretty invested in this game at this point so this was pretty devastating for her. When Bob stabbed Jane, it felt like he stabbed me because I knew right then, the game was over. Bob acted like a complete ass afterwards, and found out the hard way that people's patience can only run so far.
In truth, I should have kicked him making it clear why he wasn't welcomed back.
But I was so distraught at all my work, all my cooperation with Bob going up in flames, that I decided to end the game. There's a lot of shoulda, coulda, woulda when it came to that game, things I could have done differently as a DM. But Bob was definitely the one who killed the game the moment he stabbed Jane.
This was a long time ago, and time heals most wounds. But yeah, this is a horror story I'll never forget.
On a brighter note, I've been running a Monster of the Week game without Bob and it's going swell. And if I ever ran DnD again, I know I'd do a fine job. People were really invested with the world I created, and someday I might go back to it. But for now, I'm fine running something other than DnD.
      TLDR:
Power gamer couldn't handle not being the most powerful player in the room, so he ended my campaign by stabbing another player in-game.

@@brendondellinger355 I am a 30+ year veteran of TTRPGs and most of that is GMing, so I recognize everything you are saying. I'm not bragging or anything, more like explaining to you that this isn't something unique to your table or in some way your fault. I have had nearly the exact same situation occur in one of my games and I greatly sympathize that you put a LOT of work in (that the players will never fully appreciate since they are blissfully unaware) only to have it ruined by PC BS.
I'm very happy that you didn't fall out of the hobby and just tried something different and got rid of your problem player. Ironically Monster of The Week is a game that Bob might do better with, but I understand not wanting to risk it to find out. I tried to introduce my group to PBTA just recently and it wasn't their cup of tea. If you do try D&D again, I would suggest revisiting your world since you have so much time and energy spent on it already. You can move forward or backward in time far enough to remove the new PCs from all those events, but still recycle any plots and NPCs and everything else they hadn't yet interacted with to make it easier on yourself. The more you stay inside of an established setting (meaning the one you made), the easier all of your prep will be.
Good luck, and thanks for responding so openly and with such detail!

I would like to make a Vr Mmorpg with this kind of music. I imagine that I am making my own hut, making dinner after I have hunted. Luckily, as a Cryomancer Sorcerer, I have resistance to cold, so I don't need too many winter clothes. There are times where I would meditate to focus my power over the cold, going outside briefly, feeling a chill, but it is does not cut through me like it would others. I focus my powers so that I can better prepare myself against certain creatures that have raided the town recently.

Next to my discovery of Adrian Van Ziegler and Brunuhville ten years back, finding your work this past summer tells me this is the start of something new and incredible. I loved your comfy tavern video on a level I never knew I needed, and now you release this masterpiece. The moment the music hit I felt like I was tossed into the Winter of my very first Fantasy project with the highlands and the forests and fields at their foot blanketed in white, and when the night comes with the glinting stars and the pale-blue of the moon, the skies are cut with ribbons of auroran lights. I can feel the cold and voice of the wind simply listening to this, and it feels like being reunited with an old and long lost friend. Never, ever stop your work!

I love your lineart style. Its so simple, yet so effective. Like all of your texture comes from the line art instead of the coloring and the colors just perfectly set the vibe and creates great focal points. Your composition does its job perfectly and it all blends together with the music. Im kinda gushing, but i really cant find anything to critique (not that I was asked). The great animation is just a bonus to really set the mood.

This view reminded me of a beach in Orkney. Never been there in winter, but I imagine it could be like that !

I have been listening to this playlist nonstop the past two weeks while working on a manuscript. Such a beautiful animation to go along with equally beautiful music

You just know it's so warm and cozy in there. A crackling fire and an inviting chair. After a long day in the snow working or playing, just settling into true coziness.
