i use a thin strip of leather about 12 inches long. I pre punch holes every half inch. Then
wrap around gourd rim ,and mark each hole Very easy.

If I understand this correctly you’re making a quarter inch spaces for hole’s. I think the tape measure makes this a bit of a pain. Why don’t you get a piece of wood that is 1/4 of an inch wide and move and mark accordingly.

Hi Am trying to grow a gourd, but the seeds dont sprout and then I either water too much and rot or not enuf... Do they need lots of heat (live in hot place)? Since have so many long needl pines around here, can try this. Want to try make a container food safe too put in kitchen.

It would be helpful, for demonstration purposes, to number the holes, at least the first six or so, and then saying which hole to sew into to create the "V". I cant see which holes she sews into and am unclear on that technique. Is it traditional to leave the fascicles on the pine needles?

Too long. Music annoying. Yes turned it down. But need to cut out parts. I wanted to see you do pine needles. But wait was just way too long
Markings are not correct due to your tape not laying flat ~ you would be better to make one measurement on card, then make one dot on the line, place edge of card on dot and lay card around gourd until you reach measurement, mark another dot~ repeat moving the card to mark the dots!!
