Idina Menzel & James Marsden Perform 'Enchanted' in Deleted Scene from Film

- In this deleted scene from the movie 'Enchanted', Idina Menzel and James Marsden perform the title song. It was supposed to play through the ending montage and part of the credits and then 'Ever After' would play but this scene was ultimately cut due to pacing.

I never understood why they had idina menzel in a musical without having her sing. I may like the flow of the original ending, but this was cool.

I wondered the same thing and shrugged, deciding they were trying to be ironic? The genuine singer, Broadway legend even and nope, no songs for you.
Idina a made a statement saying she liked how they appreciated her for her acting abilities and not just to use her voice
@@silklavender Huh. Cool. Seriously, that's cool. And she definitely can act (and honestly anytime she sings, no matter the part, I always at least to a degree hear Maureen. It's me, I know. I have just listened to the original cast of RENT so much, that I can't... I was halfway expecting Elsa to say "Moo with me".)
I think they made up for it by having her sing in Disenchanted.
Anyone else feel like Enchanted is a better 100 year anniversary concept than what we got (Wish)? It both parodies and honors all classic Disney tropes while simultaneously embracing the “modern” with live action…I just feel like it’s a better celebration of Disney’s legacy overall
Disenchanted was a good family movie, with some romance thrown in but not as the main focus, exactly like how more beloved Disney movies were for me. A worthy anniversary release that I wouldn't have complained about if it was longer.
I loved Wish, and thought it was a great celebration. Especially the animation style, absolutely beautiful.
No. I don’t feel like that at all. I think Wish did the 100th Anniversary justice in every way. I really, truly do. Also, it’s one of my favorite Disney movies. I watch it all the time and listen to the cast recording all the time. I’m also trying to learn the title song.
I don't think wish was a bad movie I just don't think it was 100th anniversary movie it just there's something missing from it I don't know if it's the soul or what. I agree with you enchanted comes more off like what 100 anniversary movie would be like but it didn't come out then it came out way earlier and there you have it... As for disenchanted it was okay it's just also was missing some soul. Whoever made disenchanted was obviously in a hurry because it wasn't as thought out and as I don't know how else to put it it didn't have as much soul as the original.
I think there should be a proper sequel to enchanted and I don't think it's disenchanted, because it makes Nancy and Edward look like nothing really has happened for them itself and that's kind of wrong, also enchanted left some holes in it too and that is when Robert kisses Giselle and breaks the curse it isn't Edward who breaks it it's Robert therefore why did the evil queen Narissa decide to really go after Giselle it makes no sense. The only way it makes sense is if it turns out that Giselle was her daughter and therefore if Edward doesn't marry and Gisele does then Giselle would be the heir to the throne and if she married somebody worthy well that's something that her mother wouldn't have wanted.
I wish this was in the movie. It would have been so nice to hear Idina sing here.🥲❤
She once said that she was glad she had no songs. She said it was nice to be hired only for her acting abilities for a change

heck no, this whole thing feels off and for Nancy to sing towards the end didn't make any sense. Gisselle was the main character.

Now, a light finally shines in this once-forgotten Enchanted duet that should've DESERVED to have made its place in the final cut of the movie.

I mean, the Menken part is probably a demo... the rest would've been either a duet with Marsden and Menzel or a pop star.
can't believe they cut this out, it's a wonderful song...reminds me of when they took if i never knew you out of pocahontas's theatrical release

O:03 so that's where this scene was from,as there was an Enchanted picture book back in 2007 with this photo shown in the end of the book but wasn't in the final film.
The editors did the right call. But this was interesting to see 👍🏾

I think they made the right call deleting this scene, but it still would have been great to have this included in the deleted scenes all those years ago. The people are right, we were robbed!
i remember watching the kevin lima's director's commentary on enchanted a couple months ago and heard him mention this song, so cool to finally see it!
personally i do like ever ever after more since i think it ties up everyone's arcs perfectly, unlike here where it's focused on nancy and edward

From a storytelling perspective, I understand why this was 'deleted'.
It would have taken the focus from Giselle instead.
Now you know why it was a happily ever after for Nancy and the prince I do wish they had left it in… explains why they seem to be doing better in the sequel then Giselle and co.
To be honest I’m kinda happy with how the movie ended anyway as much as good as this scene is

So....near the end of the movie, this song was supposed to be before "Ever, Ever After"?? woow. O_O shame it got cut, but I understand the pacing.

@@BonBon-su9dz it still wouldn't work since Nancy had so little time in the movie and for her suddenly do a full title song was off. Idina was mostly known by broadway veterans at that time and not full mass until Frozen many years later.
I would have cried a lot if they decided to have the moment with Giselle, Robert and Morgan in the film

I really don’t like how this great closing musical number was replaced by a pop song by Carrie Underwood, which is a nice song as well.
Back when Disney could make musicals without the actors looking like fools with random lyrics while simultaneously making fun of the whole concept of musicals anyway😂
The original sequel disenchanted doesn't work but they should make another movie but this time basing it on and Andelasia itself because I never did understand why nerissa the evil queen had to challenge and grab Robert to get Giselle I mean I never understood the whole point it's obvious Giselle has found somebody else will not be coming back to Andalusia so what's the point and the answer to it might be more interesting, especially if the sequel to the previous sequel because that one was absolutely I mean the music was wonderful but the rest of the storyline left a lot to be desired and a lot of people saw it that way I personally think it would have been better to have the sequel around Nancy and the prince.
I love Enchanted so much and Disenchanted is a perfect sequel but man!!!!!
