- In zombie movies one of the most important things you can do is to get away from population centers. We've come up with a list of five very common vehicles that you might just see lying around in your neighborhood that you can use to escape to safety

All you need to be is quicker than the zombie so a bicycle is good, it is as you say silent and there are hardly any parts to fix.
A good electric mountain bike with suspension is perfect for a fit solo wanderer.

The motor is only used for occasional heavy obstacles so you never exhaust yourself on a hill and leave yourself vulnerable, and to engage at full power if you need to get away from something fast _(and quietly)_ in an emergency.
You can stick a small solar panel on top of your luggage compartment at the back (why the Uber Eats model is useful, removable insulated cube on back), or even have a fold out panel for charging while you rest.
And you'll never have to abandon it cause you ran out of fuel.
You will nearly always spot trouble before it spots you, you will even hear it first. And situational awareness can really save your life.
You can take the bike with you when you explore, even inside malls, pretty well everywhere except inside a house - and you can park it inside the front door if other humans are an issue and you want to remain hidden.
Out in forest and you can park it by a tree and use it to boost up to climb, and even lift it up into the branches with a few ropes and a rachet/pulley.
Get a pair of *night vision goggles* from a surplus store or wherever (another use for the solar panel) and you can ninja across the landscape. Maybe even sleep during the day and ride at night when even zombies can't see a thing [human eyes].
Carry a spear (clips into board holder on side) and you can kite a small group of zombies without attracting any more zombie attention from loud noises.
Or even go the bow/crossbow route if you reuse after wiping the targets (or just make hunting arrows, they'll be good enough), and it'll also allow you to opportunity hunt on the journey - just clean your arrows beforehand.
And this load out works outside the U.S. where civilian/police military surplus vehicles, ridiculously large trucks and enough guns and ammo to outfit a paramilitary group or Warlord aren't just lying around.
Although if you are US based a good multi calibre pistol (barrel swaps or a few specialist revolvers) and a multi calibre rifle (with a silencer for your most common ammo) are the best options. Once again you don't want to attract attention.
And the best part, getting a electric bike, and even replacing it on the way is easy.
Bikes will get you killed, they offer no protection, and if your not paying attention you will run into a Horde!
Just remember, gasoline will decay after a few years. So get a horse.

A horse is a descent option, though as noted below, they tend to spook easily. Alternatively you could learn how to make ethanol or wood gas, which'll have more uses than just transport.

Gasoline will be useless in a few months without preservatives. Don't count on anything you didn't treat yourself to last more than a few months.

Horse and wagon is your best long term transportation. Make sure to have your buddy sitting in the shotgun seat with a shotgun. You can make a wagon by removing the engine and transmission from a pickup truck. The rear axle and front bearings will still work just fine.
The Cybertruck is the best choice.
More torque than a Ford F150, 500 mile range, and a reinforced frame, literally checks 3 of the 5 boxes.
with that stainless steel it also would rust slower due to being able to get rid of the blood and guts faster

Legit in almost every way. Pack a generator in the early days of the apocalypse and ration out solar power once that runs out. It's armored, electric, solar, powerful and is meant to accommodate power tools.
The best thing is to go for something with good gas mileage, great ground clearance, good rollover protection, is quick to outrun marauding vehicles, and is electric so we can link solar panels to recharge it.

fun fact: Red light is also harder to see from a long distance away, so you can do that observation with more reassurance you're not giving away your position.
Electric mountain bikes, particularly the big hub powered versions, basically don't need the pedals or chain at all, and can be charged via solar, and they can tow trailers or be lifted over otherwise impassible obstacles, and maintenance can be learnt fast as you basically pump the tyres, check the brakes and turn it on.
Or if you live next to an Airbase like me, steal a humvee or Any suitable a Armored vehicle and live in a parked or boneyard C-5 or C-17
Sleeping in a tank is about as sound as you can sleep in the apocalypse.
He's got a point about bikes though, if you have a base handy, see if you can score an M-1030, the dual fuel ones.
or if you really wanna go on the offensive in Montana we have these things called snow cats for clearing out mountain passes in the winter. Basically they're the bastard offspring of a snowblower and a bulldozer. Zombies go in one end, red mist comes out the other.

As a former army mechanic good luck with all that upkeep, and good luck if any engine problems come up (which it will military things tend to break ALOT), underneath is 1 inch thick armor plate that weighs ALOT.

@@jameskosusnik1102 a Humvee seems the best option and the 6.5 Detroit doesn't seem to bad to work on but considering it's no longer a widely available engine parts would be scarce. So a Humvee with a Duramax would be the best or the LS. Though these models are civilian not sure if the Duramax was used in the military Humvee. I think the best vehicle I would get is a Suzuki samurai, a small simple off road vehicle with some decent fuel economy. A 5.9 Dodge Cummins would also seem pretty good.

One of the greatest problems would be that cars would eventually run out of petrol or diesel and on a two-wheeler you would most likely be very easily susceptible to grabbing by zombies and easily felled and eaten.
So what's then the solution that is not mentioned here, the boats! Most of the big cities are along some watercourse or other. I've never seen a zombie franchise where the buggers can swim, so even a raft might be better than heap of other vehicles. Not to mention that in apocalypse you can steal one of those large yachts, which are all made for long voyages, some even have water purifiers, solar panels and sails or rotary sails.
Also if you travel by water you'd be able to restock your water supply by simply boiling or condensation, there's plenty of fish to be caught and eaten and on bigger boats you might even be able to make circulatory systems and grow some food aboard. Also it's not that hard to find non-inhabited island or small island close enough that you can easily clear it off from walkers and make a permanent base where surrounding water will act as a barrier to buggers. So for a long term plan *insert that "I should buy a boat" cat meme here*. For short term, anything that can get you off to the harbor area alive is good.
Having a large boat also makes you big Target for other survivors.

Well when zombies rot they can bloat and float. Although even slower than before.
Boats also need constant maintenance and periods of dry dock, otherwise they start rotting in the water, not to mention no culture in the history of the world has been able to survive solely on fishing, scurvy can kill after all. And the larger the boat, the more crew you need to run it, especially if it's a sail boat, and while large boats may also occasionally have desalinators, they're not designed to be used indefinitely. So as a temporary solution it's fine, especially for traveling up and down coasts or rivers, but you'll eventually have to set up shop in a dock for extended periods of time, so you're going to need some land transport eventually, even if just to get the supplies you need to repair your boat.

From personal experience I can tell you the Crown Victoria is better than the Dodge police cars. Especially if they have higher miles on them because they have been repaired and reinforced better for durability.
Crown Vics can go thru standing water without stalling. Dodge has way to many fragile electronics on it that will fail. Also lacks truck space.

Crown Vics are also body-on-frame. If you look at police chase footage from when they were the main cop car, you see them attempting pit maneuvers like crazy. With modern unibody Chargers and Explorers, they mostly just follow the suspect.
This is because impacts like that are very likely to result in a modern cop car being written off, while the older Crown Vics and Caprices would only need have a body panel or two replaced, or have some dents hammered out.
Another advantage is sheer abundance. The vast majority of those cars had second lives as taxis after being retired from police service. So you could steal a taxi and basically get the same attributes if you can't find a police version.
Dodge charger does look cool...but trunk space is terrible. I would also recommend crown vic. The new SUV fords have terrible rear view. Too many blindspots...especially if u want to keep watch on an approaching zombie

@@theunknownone5990 If you are talking about the modern Caprice, they are definitely unibody, no separate chassis. Built in Australia by Holden and badged as Chevrolets. Not especially easy to fix.
according to the official zombie survival guide by max brooks the best vehicles are the bycicle and motorcycle, so allen and ben will be fine
No matter what the vehicle, a vital accessory for any is a pair of *night vision goggles.*
It will allow you to see outside the angle of the headlights, _be stealthier,_ and not be a night blind galumph if you need to exit your vehicle or bike.

Most NVGs have very restricted fields of view compared to your eyes and they don't run on AAs.
I'm an Englishman, and alot of things are very different here. It's harder to get electric outputs that are rated for electric cars. We do have a very extensive motorway system that can take you from Cornwall to Scotland in about 2-3 days if you floor it. So the best thing for us would probably be a fossil fuel powered van or lorry. We also have a huge amount of vintage/pre 1980's cars here.

Also my choice vehicle would to reinforce the roll cage on my 2012 ArtiCat Wildcat 1000 four seater. It's awesome off road, but light and maneuverable and can either carry a few people or a decent amount cargo. It would be mostly for short trips once I get to my designated location in a more remote region.

Electric cars are earlier useless than the fuel cars because Prower grid down & also yopu can not carry reserve electricity with the energy density of fuel ... only partially negated when you live in a sunny state & everyone has photovoltaics ... also the charging takes long
Allen, my man, in these sort of situations it's not stealing, it's liberating.
Toyota Prius. 50mpg, on a 15 gal tank. 750mi range. Strap three gas cans to the roof and you've just doubled that. Low speed silent running, and plenty of room to sleep in the car. Check out Prius camping in the search feature. The Prius is THE ultimate zombie apocalypse bug out vehicle.
#6: Bicycle
Works as long as you have legs
I have an R1200GS, but here's why I think it's a good compromise. I don't have the Adventure, but the normal liquid cooled GS is ludicrously quick. I've hauled tons of cargo on it, meaning it would serve excellently as a way of carrying all the survival equipment you'd need. Tools? Yes. Spark plugs/fuel/oil? Yes. Tent? Yes. Food? Yes. Tons of ammo? Yes. Water? Yes. With the cargo capacity, acceleration, decent offroad abilities and ease of maintenance, I would easily call an R1200GS one of the best compromises as a zombie bike.
The first vehicle I would choose would probably be an up-armored FMTV (army truck) with a hardened shelter on the back. They have a straight-6 engine, auto trans, with extremely low gearing and very reliable. Not to mention excellent off-road capability, high ground clearance and durable run-flat tires. The fact that the bed and cab are 5ft off the ground means it would be next to impossible for zombies to get at you while you're driving/chilling/sleeping in the shelter. But the best part is, the engines can burn just about any type of fuel. Diesel, JP8, kerosene, gasoline, ethanol, etc. If it lights, it will run on it.
The added benefit to a motorcycle is that a good set of leather armor, boots, gloves, and helmet will give you extra protection from scratches and bites.
I'm down with the BMW F650GS for the height, carrying capacity, and the Rotax engine is durable as hell.

Pre 1995 diesel vehicle. Probably an f350 4x4 from the late 80s for me. No turbo or emissions equipment so less stress and fewer parts to break down. Still has plenty of power and space with the added bonus of being able to run on almost any combustible liquid. Mix the bad gas with the motor oil out of the vehicles you scavenge or raid restaurants for frying oil, new or used.

If you need wheels after the apocalypse, forget all these newer computer driven engines. Get an older mechanical diesel engine powered vehicle. Very simple to work on and can run on anything from watered down jet fuel to cooking oil.
M113 tracked APC, Tall enough to allow you to attack the horde from above, able to clear them from before you with many types of weapons! Runs on diesel, we use to run the 24/7! And has a 10” thick ramp on the back for quick access!
Best choice if you have enough fuel/spare parts around and know your way around track maintenance.
As far as motorcycles go I think Street Hawk would be best, it's an all-terrain attack motorcycle! Two machine guns and rocket launchers, a laser with both stun and cut settings, a ramp-less jump fiction, air brakes for quick stops, and a max speed of 300 MPH!
One thing to consider: you can easily convert diesel engines to run on basically any flammable oil or liquid fuel. You have to be careful with the more volatile liquids like gasoline, but you can pull your truck around the back of Burger King, and fill up your tank with French fry grease.
That is way easier with older diesel engines, the simpler the better
New ones are just too focused on being Eco friendly so they are way more picky about what can you power them with
Good idea would be a high-crop sprayer. Absurd ground clearance and thin tires means you can just wade through seas of zombies. And on larger models, the sprayer tank can possibly be replaced with a makeshift camper or mobile fortress.
And honorable mention…the humble mountain bicycle.
When all fuel and axles and brakes and solar panels are gone…you got your muscles to keep going.
The modern American High school is a ready built fortress.
When I was in school I imagined turning the school into a paintball area if it was decommissioned. With the post columbine stuff, they are built tough like you say.
Honestly, the best thing you can have is an ultralight. Many of them require no pilot's license yet can still carry the pilot plus a small amount of cargo. They can take off from almost any street, too. Note that technically the ones that do not require licensing have certain strict requirements (maximum weight, maximum fuel carried, etc.), but many of them can, in an emergency, be modified beyond these specs with a few bolt-on additions that can be installed within a few minutes (extra or larger fuel tanks, etc.). Basically, you could maintain them in a legal configuration but have the parts ready to install in an emergency.
I would go with a Brinks Armored Truck. Runs on diesel, plenty of room (you can stretch out when sleeping and can carry a lot of supplies) and very secure.
You're wrong about diesel powered vehicles for one main reason. They can run off of many different fuels without modifications. Such as vegetable oil, oil run off from cooking meat, peanut oil, soybean oil, fuel oil, some can even burn motor oil(military all fuel engines(diesel based)are even better).Gasoline engines can run off of high proof alcohol too.
I was expecting the car in the thumbnail, the Volt. He listed the Bolt, but the Volt is an electric car that can run on gas. Like it's both. Not a hybrid, it can alternate. Additionally, it's still quiet, has CRAZY MPG, and is larger, able to carry 4 people and a trunk, perhaps for a generator or gun. It accelerates well, has a quiet horn for communication (made to signal to pedestrians/bikers you're there without the big horn, because a quiet car is harder to notice with headphones). It has less range than the other electrics, but again, gas, and is also very quiet even using an engine.

You should have included wood-gas powered cars. They really deserve more attention. Being able to run your car in literal wood after hooking up a wood gasifier to it. They were popular in Europe during and after WW2 due to fuel shortages.
A brinks armored truck, a trailer with a bunch of 55 gal barrels of fuel. Gunports, already near bulletproof, 4x4, able to carry a lot of stuff inside. Driver accessible cargo area
Military vehicles can run on almost any kind of oil based liquids. The duece 1/2 troop truck is a good example.
The BMW I3 also comes with a Range Extender or REX which is a small petrol engine that charges the battery
A problem with electric cars you seem to have missed is their batteries deteriorate over time, especially when operating with a lower charge on a frequent basis. In a post-apocalyptic situation, you probably won't have the luxury of being able to keep it anywhere near a full charge.
Just FYI...where do you find fuel a few months into the Zombie Apocalypse? Fire stations! Ever see a big red fire truck filling up at the 7/11? No because every fire station had their own diesel pumps! Most police stations/sherriff offices have their own pumps too. The more you know...

The Ford vehicle shown at 3:53, as issued by the municipality depicted in the footage has additional external armor cladding added that makes it an interesting buy low key choice with the light bar removed and a more generic paint job.
Original land rover. There is a reason the British Army kept these for 50 odd years. They are easy to maintain and like the energizer bunny it just keeps on going.
Old farm truck is the best zombie rig. Durable, and easy to fix.
Whatever I use, it'd have to be durable, easy to maintain, have great fuel/electric efficiency, have a good-sized cargo and/or passenger capacity, and be able to go for long distances at high speeds if necessary.

For me it would be an Jeep Cherokee XJ, that’s the Cherokee from 1984-2001, not that Italian crossover they sell now. They’re cheap, extremely reliable, not too big or small and will go anywhere. That gasoline 4.0L inline 6 is bulletproof but I wish they had a Diesel 4 or 6 cylinder for improved fuel economy since the 4.0 is a gas hog, sadly I think they only sold the Diesel Cherokee in Europe...

I would use an electric fully armored Unimog with a remotely retractable plow. You don't need to go fast, you can run over anything or push things out of your way. Have solar panels on top of the camper shell. Go anywhere, live anywhere, run over anything. Survival at its' best.
Long term, look for a old pickup with a carburettor, build a gassafier system that goes in the bed of the truck and attaches to the carbie. As long as you can find wood to burn you have fuel for your truck
with electric hehicles you get the option of hooking up a generator you keep in the trunk for when you just need hours of electricity.
I'm just gonna put it out there, LC 70 pickup tactical. It hauls, it climbs and it shoots.
My picj for something I'll keep maintained for when the fuel starts to go bad is a Zero Motorcycle FXS pretty agile off road electic bike with a 100 miles range and a quick charge time on an inverter and some solar panels. I've riden one and when I'll get the money I want to buy one if them for a cheap commute.
I would recommend a first responder vehicle like an ambulance or fire engine. They are all heavy duty and kept in top shape with tanks topped off. A bonus would be medical supplies or water.
electric cars would be my choice since if you have the knowledge you could modify it with solar panels on the roof to help keep the battery running and solar panels would be fairly easy to locate since many private homes use them as well as many roadside traffic monitoring devises use them as well on the highways. The only real negative is you would be sacrificing your roof storage space but that would also only be temporary till you find the equipment to raise the pannels to have some free space underneath for some light storage.
The Cybertruck was practically designed for the Apocalypse.

Personally, I am of the opinion of a metal fleck green, 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 as the best looking car. However a Boss 302 would be one of my next choices.

Okay, the best way to survive a zombie apocalypse would be in a dessert for many reasons, but mostly, because zombies will be burnt to a crisp before they ever reach you. You won't need a vehicle in the desert, and if you do need one for any reason, get a diesel. They can practically run on ANYTHING = Limitless fuel forever. Diesels also require allot less maintenance than all the vehicles mentioned in this video. Actually, the vehicles in this video were pretty bad advice. Looks like someone's trying to divert the competition away from the best most reliable vehicles! Smart move
How about a boat house? You could float right around them and never leave home. I haven't seen to many zombies swim.

Best vehicle : Tesla Cybertruck long range tri-motor. Three electric motors, a large 100+ kilowatt battery system, cold rolled stainless steel Uni-body exoskeleton, with ground clearance between 12 inches to 18 inches. A range of 500+ miles. Solar panel bed cover.
My first choice is a large City or Highway snowplow equipped dump truck with a converter Dolly and refer trailer. Pre 2004 if possible. Being sure to fill the bed with 55 gallon drums of diesel and lubricants.
Zero DS/R or FX electric dual-sport motorcycle as a scout/recon vehicle while having an Earthcruiser RV as your main. I was researching the Earthcruiser EXD with a CNG engine using a Biogas converter. Or using biogas to generate electricity for an electric truck, i.e. Rivian.
Or those Harley livewire advs that even mcgregor just rode up from chile
I'd use a posimotrack because it a feul efficient / sometimes electric powered piece of heavy machinery that is like a tank for construction I bet you could modify it to even have a cannon
In the eu any pre 2000 car with a low pressure pump system diesel ... Economical (5 and less L/100), abble to run on purified oil or any other oil (ideal when finding gas is hard or dangerous...), discreet (diesel + small displacement) and also lightweight enough to be decent in an all road situation (and some light all terrain).
My choice would go to any PSA car with the XUD7 or XUD9 as such...

I like the idea you have about the motorcycles I've always thought you'll Sports would be best any survival situation and I think I would have one of those as kind of like a scout vehicle or better yet off-road Mountain High bike they're good quiet easily concealable that way I can scout an area for zombies and see if I can grab a couple of quick supplies but my main vehicle I would probably see about stealing one of the Wylie larger trucks from National Guard base when I get a chance because you need a good strong off-road vehicle act as a base and I need you to the dirt bike and mountain bike getting closer where you want to go just as a scout

What about steam power? A modified sterling engine with a modular heat source could be a perfect choice. Run on anything that burns, and even electric heating elements could work. Bear in mind limited torque and no prior availability, but it could be fabricated post-apocalypse with relative ease, and can last the better end of forever with due care.
You'd be surprised what you can run on E85 ethanol. I ran my near stock 92 5.0 Mustang on it for a year and a half back in 2008-2010 when I lived in Nevada as it was readily available. Yeah I beefed up the fuel system a little bit with a bugger fuel pump and adjustable pressure regulator. I also got rid of the catalytic converters, EGR and smog pump, bumped up fuel pressure from 37psi to 41psi and advanced timing to 17 degrees BTDC, seapped in hotter plugs with a slightly wider gap and indexed the plugs. I still have that car with the original engine running strong had to switch back to gasoline when I left as E85 isnt as easy to come by in New England. Not going to say you won't have problems long term ethanol eats rubber but it'll help you get through the first year or two anyway.

Not fuel efficient but sturdy as he'll, with a full workshop on back (which helps if you have a machinists background), with a hard mounted V plow so that it can knock most vehicles to the side of the road/tunnel to clear an escape path, and you can make the parts you may need in the on board shop (which is why it is good to have some machining skills) 🤣😅😂
You can run diesels on vegetable oil. like straight frrom the fryer after being put through a filter. add some acetone to help with burning
multi fuel diesel engined truck. you can run them off just about anything that burns, you can up armor them, you can add a wedge and shove cars off the road, easy maintenance, plenty of space for stuff, family, solar pannels, whatever you want.
Just keep in mind that running off of anything that burns doesn't mean it runs well off of anything that burns.

Yall are wrong on this one, the best option is obviously the M35 Deuce and a Half.
Why? Because it has an engine designed to run on multiple fuel types, gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, vegetable oil, motor oil, even used motor oil (though the engine may run rough on some of these). You also get 6 wheel drive, a 5000 lb off road load capacity, and a pto driven winch on most models. Even after being retired by the US military in 1999 it continues to see use with civilian individuals and organizations including, fire departments, electrical companies, towing services, farmers, and even as snow plows. However, this is a large military vehicle, so good luck trying to get it through narrow city streets. Although the engine can run on anything, it does have a rep for being a little bit maintenance happy because of the added complexity it needs to run on all of the different fuel types. All of the joints for the driveshafts, pto, and some suspension components need to be greased regularly as well, which may be a pain in some situations.
Despite the flaws, I believe the M35 is one of the best options for any type of apocalypse scenario. However if you disagree, that’s ok too.
The best vehicle is a trained police horse ;-) It can withstand stress, noise, pain and narrow spaces, it feeds off naturals and you can pad it with tear-/puncture proof textiles. It also has good senses and can warn you at night, when you are sleeping.
Try the XR 650. I had an XR 500 which also does the trick.
Best vehicle for the apocalypse: a mountain bike.
Reasonably fast, infinite fuel source (as long as you are alive), and practically indestructible.
It also mean that you can ride practically anyway (with some training)

Anything with two wheels and engine is a real bike I’ve had some of my best rides on 250s
@@GenerationFilms Well, yeah I guess. Smaller bikes are fine for riding around town, and taking on some trails. Extra power isn't at all needed in those circumstances. But I don't personally feel safe on the highway with anything less than a 500.
But when it comes to surviving the zombie apocolypse, or an invasion from the dastardly alien menace, a smaller bike might preform equally as well as a larger one in many situations created by such a scenario. If ever the day may come, the Humanity First resistance group will ride it's bikes of freedom into battle against the alien scum!
im friends with a giant Scottish man. he's 6'7" and about 400 pounds, he rides a honda and it almost looks like he's riding one of those minibikes. i still chuckle everytime i see him riding around town.
If you really just need to get out of town start with a couple bikes in the back of the bearest Brinks truck. Designed to force it's way through roadblocks, gun ports in the doors, run flat tires,and a big Cummins diesel for power. Once into the wilds you can put a few hundred gallons on the roof & sleep soundly knowing nothing can get in.

As few ppl already mentioned, Tesla Cybertruck would be great for Z-apocalypse. Thing is, that the material they used (which limited them in design) is so sturdy, that there would be probably no dents even after plowing through horde of Z's.
Plus it's electric, so you can charge it from a hydro powerplant at your secret anti-zombie base decades after the Z-Pandemia shut down refineries.
Battery will probably max on 60% of original range by that time, but will still work.
Not sure about the reliability and reparability. It's easier to repair a gasoline or diesel than battery. You need extensive knowledge and special tools. Remember, KISS
@@bigbigmurphy That isn't true even if you compare EV with pre-2000 ICEV, where some of those had pretty nice repairability- particularly those from soviet block, as spare parts were expected to be scarce and it had to be designed to be repaired with a hammer in the middle of swamp - but fuel efficiency was TERRIBLE.
In EV, there is not much, that can break down. There are no moving parts, that would wear of, motors are usually formed by permanent magnets, so no wear there as well.
Pierced tyre or worn brakes are problem for both...

New designs need a few years to work out kinks and make improvements, and if the on board computer start having issue, this is pretty much over. This is why KISS is the key. Look at LC 70, as long as you can find some fuel it will run. No computer, all mechanical.
Short term to clear out an area of zombies: construction vehicles. Uses way too much gas for long term, but almost any but the smallest construction vehicles are unstoppable by a horde, have closed in and reinforced compartments, and some of the larger ones can go through any debris. Bulldozers are my favorite because of the treads for any terrain, and the shovel has all sorts of uses from clearing out spaces to lifting up survivors. And the noise... remember how I said great for clearing out an area? The noise will attract more zombies. Just continually run around the same few blocks you want to clear out and pile up the bodies under your wheels or treads. And if they manage to climb on top in enough numbers to be an issue, just tear through a small building or housing to clear them off.
the best vehicle will always be a bicycle maybe not in the first days when you have to put as much distance between you and a city but when your car runs out of fuel you are going to want to have brought a bike with you because they are silent easy to repair and can go anywhere and do not require fuel maybe you could combo it up with an electric car and use the bike whilst the car charges
Fire truck. Has ladders. Has water tanks, huge fuel tanks and pumps to collect water. I'm also pretty sure the water turret would be great to clear zombies
And you could probably find a way to attach a plow blade to the front one.

@@JamesFrancisCawfee it would be an emergency to use the tank water for that. But say you're in a position to use the truck as a barrier and there is water to pump. People can be looting or fixing something while you rip up and knock down the rotting horde
Serious question why did you not mention hybrids? Can run on fuel (many e85 too) while also having a battery that recharges itself and can take outside energy?
