Are You Held Back By Golden Handcuffs?

  • Have you ever heard the term "Golden Handcuffs"? It is used as a term to express how employers use benefits to keep employees from leaving or jumping from employer to employer.
    -
This creates a false sense of security and keeps people trapped with their own fear so they don't leave because they will lose their benefits. Watch and hear my life example of getting caught in it and then how I realized what was happening and ultimately broke out on my own and free from the golden handcuffs.

Good advice man. I know the feeling when your son says daddy why can’t you come home you have a bed here. Man talking about wanting to pull the pin and dragging up.

    Hey Robi!!
Good advice there man, starting as a side hustle while still having your main job is the best way!
Even IF you stay at your job and end up just doing your hustle part time.
Actually, if you kinda treat your hustle somewhat like a hobby, you are still building your business, but without the pressure of trying to get off the ground and running fast, your now able to have the time to learn thing's, and experimenting with different idea's while still keeping things under control financially.
    Stay safe brother!

IT takes a lot of guts to be independent, and with a lot of grit you can do it.

Here's the thing about golden handcuffs - people think being an employee is "stable" and the company is taking all the risks - but that's baloney. If a business is starting to take hits, they're gonna start making cuts. People are gonna get fired, pay gets cut - and you don't have any choice in the matter. It's not 1950 when you would start a job and keep it to retirement. You won't get raises appropriate to your position unless you job jump. You want one employer in control of your paycheck, or 20 clients? You lose one client and you have time to go hunt down more. Especially since you're making better money because of the risk you are taking.

Hay just a side note on 401k's your money is not guaranteed you can lose it and some places only honor the company matching if you work there 15-20 years if you get laid off they'll take there part back so make sure you read the fine print on that stuff
