    Excellent video, great editing, incredible scenery of a place few people get to see, and a Nordhavn complete with a junior ranger! Thank you.

    I love the boat my only question is is when you're pulling into a dock there's no side rails so you have to get off the boat right away to tie the boat up how do you do that any way nor hobbins are phenomenal and you guys are lucky what an awesome awesome video Vegas bill

    • @CassidysSailingTrawler
      @CassidysSailingTrawler  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill Van Den Ouden - docking is really not to difficult even without the side walkways. We have now and stern thrusters with a remote control so we can hold the boat against a dock while we tie up unless the wind is really blowing sway from the dock.

    How big would a piece of ice have to be to do damage?

    Great video and story. Is there a 'standard list' of tools and different supplies potential boaters should have in mind to consider when purchasing a boat of similar size?

    • @CassidysSailingTrawler
      @CassidysSailingTrawler  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don Johnston - that’s a question that could require a very long winded answer. Trying to keep it somewhat condensed: it really depends on the complexity of the boat, your mission, and cruising grounds. Coastal waters with access to the Coast Guard and private towing services one can get away with carrying less in the ways of spares and tools. Even so, we err more toward the side of being self-reliant.
      If traveling offshore and to the remote destinations that passagemaker boats like a Nordhavn is capable of reaching, it does become important to have some knowledge of how to fix things, adequate tools, and spares.
      We carry enough hand tools and power tools to accomplish almost any repair short or a complete engine overhaul. Spare parts storage space is limited so we carry critical parts such as impellers (and entire replacement pumps) for sea water pumps on the generator and wing engine, belts, fuel and oil filters.
      Let me know if you’ve got any specific questions either here in the comments or via email!

    Cassidy, what wireless headsets are you two using?

    • @CassidysSailingTrawler
      @CassidysSailingTrawler  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SSRacing - they are Eartec Ultralights. Voice activated and full duplex. They work very well and very reliable.

    • @rhinoromper

      Perfect, thank you. We are looking forward to BC boating this summer.

      Mrs. Clause brought me a set for Christmas, we are definitely looking forward to using them this season in the Northwest. Thanks for the info.

    • @CassidysSailingTrawler

      No worries - we have 3 of them with extra batteries. One quirk I’ve noticed is that the “master” unit has a sliding on-off switch so it’s easy to know when it’s powered off. The slave units have a push button that you hold in for a couple of seconds to turn on or off. If you put a new battery in the slave units and close the battery door they will turn on by default. It took me a couple times having dead batteries after thinking I’d put them away with a fresh charge to figure this out.
