I agree that we need shows with 20+ episodes. Idc if some are filler, with more episodes the audience can actually grow attached to the characters instead of the show feeling plot-driven.
i see a lot of jacob slander on twitter and it makes me so sad. i know where they’re coming from and tbf he IS annoying but i could never hate him bc i know everything he does comes from a good place. i love him cuz he’s kinda like a people pleaser just like me 🥹

Great video! I like your ranking system! My favorite supporting character is Erica, Janine's new non-work friend. The actress just delivers the lines so well. She has a presence on screen, great comedic timing and she brungs out a diff side of Janine.

I only started watching when season two episode two aired and I fell in love with it. I’m the same with you in that I prefer the supporting cast usually. Well I did adore Serena in gossip girl so exceptions as well.
I recently asked myself which character was my favorite and I was super surprised that my favorite was Mr, Johnson. My mothers favorite is Melissa
I love Everybody Hates Chris and Abbott Elementary. Comedy needs to be brought back in a big way.
Barbara, Melissa will always be my Number 1s, but I would def love to get to know more about Barbara as well.

Ava, Gregory, Barb, Melissa, Janine, Mr. Johnson and then okay fine Jacob 😂. Jacob annoys my soul... which means he is doing a great job acting. We like Tariq with this broke a$$, 😂 Your dissection of Janine was spot on. She is annoying too sometimes but she cares and we love her ready to take on the world attitude. Gregory does it for me, an educated perfectionist nerdy black man with daddy issues 😂. His timing is hysterical. Barb and Melissa... The family heads. AVA.... you better do it all dag on day long with yo non working principal a$$. Thank you Quinta for this show and thang you Sagid for your take. Loved it.

The weakest aspect of Abbott Elementary is the focus on Janine and Gregory. I get that network sitcoms are supposed to be formulaic to some extent but I’m getting sick of the Pam/Jim storylines that are shoved into every sitcom’s first & second season. They’re lazy, uninspired and in the case of Abbott Elementary they distract from some of the more novel satire about the decay of the American education system and cynicism woven into our learning institutions.
That’s what makes Abbott Elementary interesting. It’s not Janine and Gregory’s predictable high school bullshit.
Also I don't think they had good chemistry (people are going to hate me for that I know). It feels forced, like they had to be together because the show decided they had to, but I don't see how they could work in real life.

Nah Gregory is low tier, he is a Petty Betty. He sabotaged Ava to get her fired when she had that meeting with school administration at the end of season 1. Gregory is also super creepy with how he treats Janine sometimes. He's super possessive of her when he's out there being a hoe and it's honestly so satisfying whenever we see Janine tell him to mind his business about her dating life.
