    having the perfect faded OMBRE comes down to having the perfect application. your balayage or ombre should always have a SEAMLESS line going from dark color to light color. an ombre done well can grow out for LONG PERIODS of time without you having to refresh the color very often. the ombre can sometimes be a bigger job initially, but is definitely very low maintenance to upkeep.

    This isn't "how to do the PERFECT FADED OMBRE" it's how to retouch the perfect faded ombre. There's a difference.

      The retouch application is the same process to doing a full ombre. Same placement and technique :)

      I think instead of adding color for the bottom section, you just apply a light or platinum blond and blend with the top color

    Just brilliant. The back combing is an excellent idea to help soften the blend. 6 hours is a long session but the maintenance is soooooo much less when you do a blended root. Having the patience to do it right is certainly worth it. Also great clear instructions.

      The beautiful thing about the application/ formula is that it starts a little more opaque and fades over time. We did it another way before but found that it was so much more maintenance to keep the pink vibrant. Starting with it a little more opaque Akeem's the colour fresh longer. Also it gives the client a little variety in their colour as it fades.

    The colour is so pretty! I wanted to try doing this myself at home and found your video to be the most helpful. One silly question, I've seen people use conditioner with the pink colour and some use developer. Which one am I supposed to use and at what ratio? Thanks for the video 💕

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the love ❤ This is a very advanced color that we recommend getting a trained professional to do and not doing on your own. There are tons and tons of things you have to consider like color of your hair now, texture, health, objectives, product, etc. The list goes on and on. For your question conditioner vs. developer, that is dependent on the type of color you are using. There are permanent, demi permanent, semi-permanent, direct dyes, and wash out colors. The ratio and what you use would depend on the type of color and brand you use. Using a conditioner is likely to dilute a direct dye. I hope this helps! Best of luck with the color :)

  • @unschuldshascherl

    In my opinion this is the best video doing ombre hair by now. Since about twenty years I dye my hair by myself because too many hairdressers failed in so many ways on my hair - and I am not even a complicate client. Really. However I dye it a long time now in a bloody red but got bored about it but also I don't want another colour. I mean any more natural would be more boring for me, also it is a nice contrast to my pale skin and last but not least it is like my trademark. However so my only option is working with one or two more shades and I find the ombre technique is prettier than just lowlights and highlights. So, what do you if you use to do things by yourself before? Right, watching TH-cam and your video actually is the first that didn't scare me. I mean maybe I am wrong, I am not a hairdresser just have some skills but it scares me rubbing the colour or even bleaching against the growing direction into the hair or even worse to backcomb (tease) it into it. I mean normal backcombing itself is damaging enough and now I shall do it with bleach? As a woman with very long and extremely dyed hair what is so needful in haircare this technique really freaks me out and I am glad I found yours now because this is a technique I can befriend with - at least with the application because I am not a friend of packing it into foil but that is not relevant for me here.

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love how you mention to alternate the width of the mid section color (magenta) I've often thought about this. What do you find works best.... larger sections towards the nape of the neck working into less at the top of the head (towards the part) or do you alternate all over the head?

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The section size would depend on the density of their hair. What we meant by alternating it is how much black vs magenta vs pink there is. For example, let's take the black. If one section there was an inch of black, maybe the next has 2 inches and then the next will have 1.5 inches. There's no exact rule, it's your creative vision. You don't want to do the same amount all over because it'll just look like a band rather then an blend

      You can bleach your hair, and then mix a bit of hair repairing conditioner with the pink dye you put in to make your hair healthier and less damaged from the bleach. You can also use what Slytherin Queen said with oil/oil conditioner so your hair is not damaged.

      Most of our clientele have natural black hair and go blonde. There hair is always healthy at the end. Break up going blonde over different sitting, find a stylist that makes healthy hair a priority, use great products between services and add keratin treatments to your lightener. i would love to see a high contrast balayage/ombre on just the lower half of the hair!
      also loved the color ombre at home/cutting your own hair at home. a blonde balayage ombre touchup "at home" would be cool too!
      also curious about how a platinum ash blonde is achieved! assuming it would need 2 processes, so that would be interesting to see :)

    If you ever decide to shoot this again, it would really be great if you'd show us how to do this on natural colored (preferably level 1 or 2) hair. I know that you said that refreshing her hair is the process when doing virgin hair but when showing people who haven't been trained the way you have, asking them to ignore existing color or pretend something isn't there won't help us picture/understand what lead to your results. On the other hand, starting from fresh virgin hair may just be visually clearer for all. Just a thought. \\//

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dove, thanks for watching our video! When it comes to pricing, it depends on what color you're coming from as well as any other pigments you may have in your hair. Check out our Behind the Chair feature for pricing:
      www.behindthechair.com/displayarticle.aspx?ID=5550&ITID=2 .
      All colors are charged based on the services being done and how much color is being used. For example, if you do full head lighten, full head color, foils, and haircut then you charge for each of those services. We do not charge special pricing for bundled services. I hope that helps! Let us know if you have more questions.

    • @nvennhairbeauty

      Dani Barce Hey! For any funky bright color like blue, you would want the hair to be as light of a blonde as possible so the color can show through well. Also you will want to tone the hair out to as white as possible (no yellows or orangey tones) prior to putting the blue on

      Hi Ladies! Everything is charged per service and how much product is used. We have a base price that includes a standard application of color and we add $10 per additional application if more color is needed (30g of color or 1 scoop of lightener). There is a costing breakdown on Behind the Chair when we did a how-to for them --> www.behindthechair.com/displayarticle.aspx?ID=5550&ITID=1

      Balayage / Ombre Foil - $185+, Toner (if needed) - $45+, Color - $95+
      For this job specifically with how much color we used it would have been $215 + $105

    its cool but i wonder why u didnt use foils to cover them.........wont is smudge the other hairs(uncovered/coloured)???

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Steve! This type of color application has to be VERY, VERY clean. If the magenta touches any of the light areas it will have bleed / color spots.
      We lightly place the hair down, never move it, and make sure that the magenta is not touching any of the pastel. We do not use foils because that can actually smudge the magenta and cause bleeding if the foil moves around or is closed to tightly.
      This technique of blending / color melting is all in the brush technique. The color has to be feathered in to the hair perfectly so there is no harsh line.
      Hope that helps! Let us know if you have more questions :D

    • @RandomZ8
      @RandomZ8 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Confused @ 5:41 mins........ U coloured and left it with the uncoloured hair......soooo confused...wont it touch them?

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steve,
      I just want to make sure that I am understanding you correctly. Are you talking about when the hair was colored and flipped over to the other side?

    • @RandomZ8
      @RandomZ8 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes thats right......im confused!!!
      Please explain

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was fine to do that because the hair was flipped over to the other side but placed flat. You do not want magenta touching any of the pastel pink areas because it will bleed. Once you flip the hair over the magenta painted spot only touches black (which it does not stain) and the area that will also be painted magenta.
      You do want to be very careful while applying and watch where you are placing the hair. We have done this color several times now so it is easy for us to be careful. If it is a new technique you are learning I suggest starting from the bottom of the section and just placing the hair down. Then just work your way up the section to the top.
      I hope that help! Let us know if you need more clarification.

    I really like the color .. I did my hair on friday.. and my hair stylist.. kinda screwed up on the color.. i wanted dusty rose gold ombre .. and she gave me a neon pink.. .. spent 3 hours to tone it down.. and got a .. burgendy ish pink.. which is still off..
    then went back yesterday.. to just cover it with a darker color.. but.. i dont know.. the ombre effect is very shitty.. so now .. my hair is fucked for a while..

      Full process for lightener so 1 hr. This is dependent on the condition of the hair as well. This will vary for every head of hair so just watch the foils. The hair texture or condition may not be able to take that long of bleach. Also, the hair may need a second application if it is not light enough. Hope that helps :)

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Thanks for the love. We waited to lighten the magenta so that we could keep the hair as healthy as possible. The hair is already quite light underneath the magenta so we more so just had to pull out the magenta tone. The roots had to go from black to light blonde which takes much longer. We do not want the lightener on the previously lightened area (magenta) for that long. Hope that helps! Keep checking back in for more vids xoxo.

    Great work and great job at explaining the process but level developer did you use to lift her?

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. 9 times out of 10 we use 20 vol for lighting. We will use 7 vol with Blondme if the hair is fragile or needs minimal lift. The only time we use 30 vol is if the hair is extremely healthy and is very resistant. Have you ever used Blondme? It's our favorite lightner and we have tried most things on the market.

    Why the back combing? Oh... and is it Blend or Melt? Doesn't sound right :/

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hi there! The back combing is done to soften the line. Lightener is feathered into the backcombing to create the perfect fade. Technique and application is KEY to create this type of color.

    i want to colour she had in the beginning, soooo pretty

    • @nvennhairbeauty
      @nvennhairbeauty  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yesss it was. the beautiful thing about this color formula is that it fades to that pretty pink in the beginning. it's just less maintenance to do it a little darker to start. if she started with the pastel color she would have to redo it more frequently. have you had pink hair before?

      this sounds like a big color correction. we'd advise you to go and chat with a stylist you trust and see what they suggest. in terms of battling your frizzy hair, good shampoo and conditioner are the EASIEST way to have nice hair because it's something you do regularly anyways. try our nvenn shampoo and conditioner! it's very moisturizing so it's the perfect remedy for frizzy hair. the shampoo has a coconut based cleanser so it's nice and gentle. it'll feel like you conditioned it after you shampoo it. our conditioner has micro keratin designed to repair your hair from the inside out so it's like a little mini mask. squeeze out all the excess moisture from your hair before you condition it and leave it on for 5 mins to allow the micro keratin to penetrate into your hair xoxo
