    0:40 - "It seems that everyone has a 450 rally bike these days." Yeah. Everyone but BMW, KTM, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki. They ignored our urgent requests for decades. Now the upcoming competition is listening to us and giving us what we want. Kove, CF Moto, AJP, Keeway, Rieju... I hope they all succeed and take sales from the big manufacturers that tried to protect the sales of their heavy and expensive 850cc and 1250 cc ADV bikes.

      @@PeakMotorcycles - I knew what you meant but couldn't help be a bit snarky about the big motorcycle manufacturers whose marketing departments try to tell us what bikes we will have rather than making the bikes we want. Thanks for the great EICMA coverage. Next best thing to being there!

    the Keeway 450 engine isn''t KTM and they are part of a huge group so have plenty of money for development so suspect it is probably their own work as rally bikes seem to be a bit of a thing in China recently, they certainly have plenty of places a rally/adventure bike would be a handy tool, and Keeway are part of the Geely group along with QJ Motors, Benelli, MBP (a new brand only just getting to the market). Geely is a huge company which make their own cars and also owns Volvo, Lotus and Proton, the engine does look like the Kove 450 motor, suspect the Geely group may well be behind the funding for Kove given it's sudden expansion and fast development of new bikes and engines, difficult to untangle who actually owns what etc with some of these Chinese companies

    My first bike was a Keeway Cruiser. The Superlight 200cc if I remember correctly. Nice little bike, cheap and easy maintenance. Did everything a small bike is supposed to do.
    I'll keep an eye on this bike. Might be easier to get in my country than the Kove.
    And it seems a lot of these lesser known brands who do cheaper, smaller cc bikes, are moving into the 300+ cc category, with some very attractive options for most people

    Keeway is really popular here in the Philippines specially their Cafe Racer 152. Hoping they will release higher CC's in here. I have a Keeway Cafe Racer 152 and I am a testimony that Keeway brand is durable, it's already 3 years old motorcycle of mine but it didn't give me a hard time, it didn't break on me up until now.

    Keeway has never gone ahead. Design copies, like the Monster 300 or the Forza/Xmax 125 scooter oder ADV scooter. The 450 Rally is a prototype, so it leaves Kove to get keen buyers first (if Kove gets its EU act together like importers and dealerships). At least Keeway is faster than Japanese brands to satisfy customer needs with a 450 Rally. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg

      @PeakMotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Kove uses a Zongshen 450 single, same as the fantic caballero 500, though Kove has a different double overhead cam top end. If this is the same, it might be the standard 39hp SOHC version, or perhaps Keeway have done their own thing with the top end.

    So many new brands that present affordable quality this year. And bikes that ppl asked for. Ktm had a chance to give us a new 390 Adv and just didn't care about that. Its a great miss with all the new 450cc bikes that are presented here. And the 450 Rally from Ktm doesn't count...that is too niche.

    QJ motor is a huge group as it is owned by the geely group. Keeway and MBp is not a part of QJ motor. Keeway does not even have a factory of its own, they are more like an OEM brand, they choose products from many manufacturers in china and brand them as keeway. Do an image search of some of their products , you will know.

    i don't have high hope for the keeway rally bike, apparently they are doing it just for the money because kove has done it and attracted a lot of attention. keeway is part of qjmotor or qianjiang motor, they are notoriously famous in china for producing over weighted motorcycles, e.g. something 245kg for a 700cc. and they didn't attend the dakar rally to test out their bike like kove did. also i think the design is a bit of joke really, the pointy screen and all the lines on it, what are those for? just gonna make it difficult to see the road and poke into the rider's eyes when going up big rocks. apparently the bike is lack of testing.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. It doesn’t quite have the finish, and without the Dakar success to support the design and quality, I doubt the Kove would be doing as well it is.

    Thanks for all the coverage you are making on the different brands. Really interesting to see. And yes it is obvious the Chinese manufactures are trying to take a piece of the market. They are definitely making a push in the 300 - 800 cc range. There is where I personally have been missing ADV, dual sport and just lighter street bikes. After seeing this particular manufacturer I see they do not have any shame or moral limits. Straight copy of a Ducati monster with that V twin.. And the "rally" bike looks like a copy paste. The quality looks poor and not something I would even try to ride on. Its a shame because there are other brands that are willing to help bringing the Chinese forward and trying to make something that at least resembles of some quality. I hope for KOVE and CF moto. Thanks again for your vids!
