I love this band......great to see this Bauhaus cover and captain is on fire with his guitar too.. it's so inspiring to see these guys in such good shape, a brilliant performance.
@@andythompson554 where are they playing? i think the last time the original 4 were on stage together was for some gigs around 1990 - though I havent kept track of the band since then.. & I was surprised to watch this video, without Rat , as him & Vanian really were 'the Damned' for most of the '80s..
I saw the Damned many times in the late 70s and in my opinion they are one of the greatest Rock bands of all time. New Rose still makes my blood heat up and is a great Classic Rock Song. The last time I saw the Damned Capt Sensible took a dump on the stage and buckets of manure were passed around the crowd to throw at the band. Wild wild days for sure and now I’m classed as an old man and on a pension knowing Mr Burns and Co are still Rocking Shows Old Rockers never die. Good for you my friends 🤪.
Love the old punks. I'm one, y'know. Love how they still end up sounding like Iggy & the Stooges at the end. Long time since Video Nasty on the Young Ones. Peace, O my Brothers and Only Friends.
Starting from @8:20 coolest freakin build up they really know how to keep milking this masterpiece after all these years their songs never loose their magic ❤ this band
They're releasing it as a film.... To be shown in cinemas... I believe its called night of a thousand vampires. Should be good to see it on the big screen 😎
I think that's part of the intro if you listen to the original, I think he went in a little early but it dosent make any odds he always adds little flourishes here and there
Yeah I was there on the 29th amazing gig, I think they mixed the release date up with the performance which was on that date or near enough in 2019 I think....I wasn't a damned fan back then but from what Ive read up I believe I'm right
It's a good example of how not to film/edit and light a complicated stage 'show' - too many different camera positions & angles & the lights don't gel with the 'Bela 'part . When Bauhaus played it in their early days they just used a couple columns of white light ( that was very effective)
Got to give em credit for putting some thought into the presentation ....but an overcomplicated mess really . Is that a former member ,Paul Gray or Roman Jugg on bass ?
@@honved1 thats interesting ...just being in a band that was 'Going to be really big' ('..hotrods) ,playing with Johnny Thunders & then joining the label/management/chaos of the Damned in a few short years would certainly be an education in the industry ..

The damned covering Bauhaus?fantastic! They've never lost it.Loved them for years.

Looks absolutely AMAZING!!
That'd be a bucket list ticked off right there.
Will they ever do this again?
No chance.

Yeah, one night he pissed all over the front row at the Rainbow, and the crowd went mad, throwing all the seats at the stage !
Captain sensible has the rock n roll riff. Sounds better than ever. Their music has aged well.
Absolutely brilliant. Great band met dave at a gig.
This is perfect 👀
What a sound ...it must be the Captain sheds a few tunes eh! thanks for the music you make ...boys! Appreciated.
@1:37 Captain BEAST MODE solo like a true legend
OMG this is awesome 😍✨
Too true.
The DAMNED - YES!
That sound, that voice!
Amazing, bravo band!!! 💥
Such a special night with The Damned and my fellow Vampires
The Damned doing what they do best... they still kick ass...
Very good sound but surely video nasty should have been on the playlist, The captain massively underrated guitarist
it was, i was there and it def was but maybe not on an album video of the gig?
The background synths are wonderful. Almost like Ray Manzarek supporting The Damned with a Bauhaus cover.
Punk is not dead, only gets mature.
Totally love them they kickass nice one Phil mate too 👍 🍺
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Wow. So good. Top 5 video ever. For me. Thx
From the past and now for the future we are damned.
Increíble. Que genialidad!

Well done.
Good for them. I remember seeing them in a bowling alley.
I bought a cassette at a hardware store , turns out it is something very special . It is the original release.
Of neat ×3
One of their best live albums
A mazing
Fantastic
Damn(Ed) that was unbelievable
Epic
Phantasmagoria !
Neat!
Bela Lugosi's dead but Max Shreck from Nosferatu seems to be alive and well.
Neat neat neat will be played until the last day of their career
The Damned, The Doors, Bauhaus, Max Shreck, and twangy guitar what's not to like ?
WOW!!!
Fantastic performans. I hear some Doors variations here. But It's only rock'n'roll and I like it...damn
Omg!!!!!
Greatness
Bauhaus must be so proud...
JESUS CHRIST LOVES UU ALL. ✝️🖤🖤🖤
I LOVE U

Is this concert available on DVD/Bluray? I can only seem to find the vinyl.

I believe its called night of a thousand vampires. Should be good to see it on the big screen 😎
It is, CD+BR (Actually it remained at #1 in the DVD/BR charts in the UK). It shouldn’t be too difficult to find it!
Cool Cool Cool
🤘🌚
This ABSOLUTELY rules, y'all! Bwaaaaahahahahaha
I can’t even play guitar, and there’s captain playing it behind his head
release the bats.... viva eternal the damned
An inspired mash up
1:54 That's another level fom Capt S.
Omg Dave’s mistake at 5:10 😂 Gotta love them though
I think that's part of the intro if you listen to the original, I think he went in a little early but it dosent make any odds he always adds little flourishes here and there
I thought it was a possible sound fault....doesn't he change mics? ( maybe no sound thru monitor)
@@andchat6241 possibly good thinking
I love it when those so called experts say Punks Dead.. No!
Dave Schreck!
HOW c ra z y is this ???
But the Damned can do it because they are such a great band.
How is this a "live performance" from 28th October 2022? They played with Rat and Brian in Hammersmith that night, I know, I was there.
Yeah I was there on the 29th amazing gig, I think they mixed the release date up with the performance which was on that date or near enough in 2019 I think....I wasn't a damned fan back then but from what Ive read up I believe I'm right
28 October 2022 was the release date for this CD/LP/Video. We deleted the date from the description to not create confusion
Enjoyed this but it's a bit like the theatrical Kiss version of The Damned
Losing the plot ? I used to see em when I was 13 ,14yrs old always great but music is enough maybe
They've always been theatrical, where have you been?
The camerawork is terrible. Can't see Dave at all throughout the entire set.
It's a good example of how not to film/edit and light a complicated stage 'show' - too many different camera positions & angles & the lights don't gel with the 'Bela 'part . When Bauhaus played it in their early days they just used a couple columns of white light ( that was very effective)
Silly
turned into judas priest
Yeah Dave just needs the all leather combo !

Is that a former member ,Paul Gray or Roman Jugg on bass ?
Paul Gray. He's the official band bassist and, in addition to two earlier stints in the eighties and nineties, has been since 2017
@@richardjamieson6681 thanks , he's looking well - I saw him in 1980 after he replaced Algy Ward..

You must have missed pretty much everything they've done since the late 70s.
