A video on the chips that to into smarthome devices would be interesting, IMO.
Thanks for the feedback Garance!
I agree
Super agree!
Yes
That Aqara water shut off valve sounds SUPER awesome!! Tons of new and exciting products to come!! Thank you for your in-depth coverage of CES 2024!
Yes! If anyone has more info on this, please share. So far, the little mention on this video is all that I’ve uncovered so far.
Right now it’s a concept with no ship date or price. Aqara and other companies use these concepts to gauge demand in the market. I grew they should make this. There are other companies like Moen that ship smart valves already but not with the connection to Aqara leak sensors. Moen’s update this year adds “AI” to recognize water flow abnormalities but it doesn’t work with HomeKit
Thank you for your coverage of CES 2024 Eric, very informative. Keep up the good work!
Govee light strip looks great! I’ll look for your chip video! Be glad to be in Vegas - we’re getting clobbered with snow back home! Safe travels!
Thanks! lol I just landed last night before it all came. About to go shovel my driveway now. It’s quite a snow storm!
I want mater Robo vac to map the house then you have a map of your house in home kit. So you don’t have to be a designer. The map would be very accurate.
Great coverage of some cool tech. Thanks for posting!
Thank you!
Always interested in hearing how things work, bring on the chips. Personally looking forward to the GE cync under cabinet lights.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes those lights do look nice I can’t wait to get my hands on some.
Great video. I love this time of year to see what’s coming out over the next several months.
Yes - I’d love to see a video on the chips used in our tech and what might be coming out in that arena to enable more advancement in the SmartHome tech.
yes, do video about the chips. thanks
Yes, please
Superb video great summary !
Awesome video. Thank you Eric.
thanks for the Belkin love!
It was great to meet you, great coverage
Great video! I’d definitely like to hear about the chips that go into home automation devices, particularly when it comes to security and future upgradeability, and how we scan make smart purchasing decisions.
Please feature how onsemi semiconductor chips and image sensors are integrated into smart home devices.
Thank you
I hope Aqara releases a HomeKit compatible water shutoff soon. - A perfect addition to go with their water sensors!
Great coverage Eric! Thank you! 👏👏👏
Thank you!
I would appreciate a video going into IOT chips.
absolutely interested in the chip video.
Great video Eric. Did you happen to see the TP Link HomeKit door lock? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Build quality etc.
You hair is always on point, Eric! Looking good. 😊
I wonder if the Aqara SmartPlug BR would be cheap enough to be used in lieu of Homepod minis.
Would very much like to hear about the chips. At the 101 level or laymen terms and the companies that are making them.
Lots of cool stuff. Interesting to seeAqara showing the P1 sensor. I've been trying for some time now to get more and they have been out of stock.
Great recap, Eric. Any idea why the Nanoleaf Sky Light doesn't work with Matter?
I think it’s because they would have limited functionality with HomeKit scenes that connect to light patterns like they have with their current products.
@@EricWelander Not that I'm complaining of course ... because their Homekit-centric ones are WAY more reliable than their Matter stuff, in my experience.
Is the smaller govee tower fan 36in going to support matter the one next to the one shown on the video?
Looking forward to more of the smart lock on handle devices - if you feature one for review would like to see specifically how it attaches and how it works to see if it will work for my use case. I cannot use a smart lock because I have two holes for deadbolt and the latch that are are so close to each other that the existing devices will interfere with the handle - would need to replace the door - it is an old door so replacement is an option too.
Thanks for the feedback. You could also add something like this as a deadbolt hole cover on one of your spots

Shelly was also at CES, would have loved to see what they had to show!
Don’t get a Sonos to use with a receiver, you can’t configure the playback delay to account for the audio processing delay on the receiver causing multi-room playback to echo.
I would love to see the Aqara Retrofit Valve become a reality. Out of curiosity, Aqara had several concept product but you only covered the Retrofit Valve. Is there a more in depth video of the Aqara booth coming or did you not include the other concepts because they were less interesting?
Thanks for your coverage! I'll actually be in the exact same venue for a different expo in a couple weeks myself.
This is a no brainer for Aqara to release. The perfect compliment to their sensors. I’ve been waiting for a HomeKit compatible version.
Will dreame x30 have matter?
Need that smart home chip info
Damn you’re great speeking
yes, interested in that, RE: 1:15
👍 1:07 Yes, please
Max Headroom hair.
Looks great.
lol thank you! 😊
Do the video on chips 👍
I’d like to learn more about why these different vendors each often have ‘hubs’. What is that all about?
Hubs or bridges enable a single connection between a companies products and other smart home ecosystems. You can also use them to run automations with that company’s software. New with Matter, hubs or bridges will be able to talk directly to more than just the hub maker’s products.
I'd be concerned about the face recognition on the Lockly. I would like to know if it's foolable.
Good question! Yeah it’s hard to say until it arrives. I didn’t get to it in the video but it ships this summer for $349 at Home Depot
Hi Eric, please what is the name of the company with Led light boxes? Thanks
Fantaqi. Link in description
@@EricWelanderI went straight to the Chapters and missed it. Thanks
Make the chip vid 💯
GE could have at least cleaned up their light display cables…
I think you should just say if it doesn’t support Matter instead of saying it 100x a video 😂
How is the best stuff smartphone companies can come up with is still basically just light, locks, and outlets? How are we not past this point yet? Where’s the laundry machines that fold and put away laundry? Where’s the robot vacuums that can do stairs? Where’s the INNOVATION?!
I’m still cynical on the whole matter/thread working anywhere near its hype! It’s just another way to connect to a hub and it seems with everyone doing their own integration, I’d be really surprised if, let’s say, Philips implementation works with Govee or Aquara, etc., and then all work with HomeKit. I’ll believe it when I see it a right now it’s just not working at all properly.
🙄😮😁🤓😎
Nope
