    @swisskim Its not a "bad spanish", its how this music in sung in Spain amongst the rich culture of peoples. As previously said through the pages of comments, the gypsies also called gitanos, immigrated from india and intermingled with the other cultures in Spain, whether its Cast, Catalan, or Basque or Galician. This is Spanish culture at its most beautiful, and im proud to have it flow through my veins from my father's side. Its just a different way we annunciate the words through song.

    @thekingofmoney2000 There is some influence with Indian music. But there is only one major aspect of flamenco music that comes from Indian gypsy music which is the rhythm of Bulerias. Correct me if Im wrong, but your probably not that familiar with Spain's History let alone the history of the Middle east. I you were you would probably would take into account that Spain was ruled by Arab/Muslims for about 8 centuries (770's until 1492). This is why flamenco has heavy roots in Arabic music.

    @thekingofmoney2000 actually, it's a mix of everything, since the flamenco music was born in Andalucía. That region received jewish and arabic influences for centuries (the arabic invasion endured something like 900 years). It's jewish, arabic, indian, spanish...lots of things. That movie Flamenco, from Carlos Saura, explains most of it :)

      @iekoom 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You are correct. I really admire my brothers, LOS GITANOS, because they take care of their own! They are all about FAMILY which is what this Earth is all about! Unlike other cultures who will sell their own for a dollar. Don't try talking reason to Luna - he likes to avoid FACTS! Fact is: Gypsies are loyal to their own and take care of themselves!

      +Abraham Kadap That's good that they do that but the ones that treat all people of all nations as brothers and sisters without boundaries or prejudice are none other than God's children. Treating only your own is locking everyone else out so what reward is there in that? My parents are from Puerto Rico so it's not where you're from it's who you are.

    @walben7 the Gitanos are doing thier best to incrperate our Karldarash Vlach Rromani dialect back into their world as there is a great and sorrowful story to why they are not aware of it. Many speak a version called Kalo" and that is the one that is mixed up with mostly Spanish, from them desperately trying to hang on to what their momya(grandmothers) remembered and passed down. I am tribal Rromani within America, thank you for your interest.

    These are professionals flamenco artists. Remedio Amaya and her sisters las Peligros. And most likely this is a Romeria that is celebrated every year in Badajoz. They are singing tangos or rumbas. Flamenco is an art form that belongs to Andalucia. Let's say is like a plant with very strong roots that was always in andalucia and all the all the cultures that have been passing through Andalucia have been watering that plant. but no one brought flamenco to Andalucia.

    @PLANKt0ne1 I never said that there weren't Arabic influences, there are. But flamenco is not one of them. It most resembles Kathak in it's intricate & percussive footwork as well as the intricate hand & arm movements & head movements & posture. The hallmark of Arabic dance are isolated pelvic movements which are virtually non-existent in flamenco.

    @mostafamahdyfirst thekingofmoney2000 is correct the Gitanos of Espana originate from northern India. However, the flamenco dance does have some influences from Arab culture due to the invasion of the Moors. It is a beautiful mix of Indian, Gitano, Arab, and Spanish music and culture :)

    @thekingofmoney2000 THANKYOU! People have no understanding of the Roma peoples and the culture that they have spread throughout the world. So many people assume that flamenco is a music of the Spanish people. No. It goes back farther then that.

  • @mmedefarge

    @PLANKt0ne1 Many Mediterranean people have olive skin & dark hair, not only Arabs. This is more a product of the environment & is true of many people, not just Arabs. My father looked the classic Latin while my mother's ancestry was Iberian Celt, fair skinned & green eyed. There are MANY different looks. As I said before, there are many Arabic words in Spanish but it is still essentially a Latin language from the Indo-European language base which includes Indian & Persian languages.

    Well not everything! A lot of Andalusian culture is gypsy in origin, but don't forget that Spain is a very diverse country (Castillian, Andalusian, Galician, Basque, Catalan, etc.). Plus, I guess this sort of gypsy culture is more unique to Spain. The gypsy culture also varies.
