    FANTASTIC VIDEO TAYLOR AND BY NOW YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH THHE OPERATORS MANUEL WHICH SHOULD BE AVAILIBLE IN THE BUS FOR ANY DRIVER TO READ BEFORE THEY OPERATE. YOU ARE ON THE LEADING EDGE OF A BUSINESS EXPERIMENT TO WHETHER ELICTRIC BUSES OF THE KIND YOUR OPERATING CAN BE COST EFFIENT AND MAKE A PROFIT FOR THE COMPANY. IF IT CAN'T MAKE A PROFIT IT IS WORTHLESS.

    Wow awesome bus 🚌 the battery power needed for a vehicle that size and fully loaded is amazing. 🤓 Green Power Bus Specifications show the double decker bus battery size capacity is rated a little more than 478kWh and a Chevy Volt battery size capacity is rated at 16kwh so it would take about 30 Chevy Volts to equal your 1 bus battery power capacity. That’s kinda like comparing the energizer bunny to Godzilla 😱 LOL🤣 another cool video Taylor thanks

    Its not in some areas of Victoria.... Its a province wide (all major cities and throughout the province) bylaw of 3 minutes of idling. You can find it in the crd website for Victoria stating 3 minutes. I'm glad this bus doesn't give off any emissions so it's not contributing to the reason behind this bylaw.

    How cool. I've had my Tesla for 3 years now and love it. It accelerates like a bat out of Hell. Going up hills is not much different than going straight down the road, so I'm curious to why you struggle up hills. Because it's electric you will hear road noise more than a diesel and yes the AC does make noise which again seems loud because there is no motor noise to drown them out. One down side to EV is they are affected by cold temps. The colder it is the more power you loose. Does it have regenerative braking? The big thing we EV is that they are more expensive up front but long term they are cheaper. You don't have any moving parts to replace, no exhaust system, coolant system, and no oil changes. After Tesla announced the release of their electric semi's they were saying that the industry was flocking to them because of the savings the would have over a diesel truck. You can learn more about the truck here: th-cam.com/video/nONx_dgr55I/w-d-xo.html

    Seems there are two fossil supporters aboard...

  • @CombatDoc54
    @CombatDoc54 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a million questions. What powers the air compressor? Is it belt driven from the electric motor? You said it drives a lot like an electric golf cart, so when you come to a stop, does the motor turn off then turns back on again when you press on the pedal? I was wondering why there couldn't be a gas or diesel powered generator that could feed electricity to the battery bank OR some type of generator that is connected to the axels like on a bicycle's back wheel that powers a generator to light a tail light or headlight.
    So many people get excited about the terminology "GREEN", But the truth is if the world stop and think about it, the fossil fuel that is being used to create batteries is astronomical. Think about all that is involved in a factory to make batteries. Fossil fuel is involved in making the factory that makes the batteries. Fossil fuel is involved in recharging the batteries. When the batteries get to old to charge any more fossil fuel is involved in making the replacement batteries, then fossil fuel is once again involved in recycling the old batteries.
    People do not the big picture of this whole "Green" thing. The people that drive to these newly erected factories all drive fossil fuel automobiles, the equipment to build the factories run on fossil fuel, the equipment that mines the raw products are ran on fossil fuel.
    Then, when the batteries need to be replaced. they are recycled using fossil fuel.
    I think we as a modernized nation, need to re-think the big plan. I think we need to think about solar and wind power. But then again, we are talking about a factory that builds solar panels and it seeps down to using fossil fuels to build the factory and to mine the raw materials to produce the solar panels. Same with wind-powered generators. I think if your company or ANY company that TRULY wants to say that they are "GREEN" They should re-charge their batteries in a "GREEN WAY". Use solar or wind. At least it is just a start.

    • @doraemeah3424
      @doraemeah3424 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The compressed air generator is worth a look... ?

    • @danmobile
      @danmobile 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure the motors turns off when it stops. Why would it keep running? Also, why would it run a belt from the electric motor to the air compressor? I'm sure the air compressor is electric... and runs off the battery. Why would you have a diesel or gas generator for the battery? That defeats the whole purpose of the bus. If it can be charged within its range, it would make no sense to also run gas just for fun. It would then have stinky tailpipe emissions, a whole 'nother drivetrain to maintain, fleet mechanics required to change its oil, another fuel source to worry about and so-on.
      As for the "some type of generator that is connected to the axels", the first rule of physics tells us that's a net LOSS of energy. IE, you cannot gain power from nothing. If you run the generator from the drive wheels, you're not going to magically create extra energy. Instead you've added additional losses and inefficiencies, because you're taking power away from the drive wheels to run the lights instead, plus the extra weight and complexities added to the machine. There's nothing to be gained here. I don't mean to be rude, but I think you need to learn a lot more about physics before you tell people how to make his bus more efficient.
      And unfortunately your science applies to the batteries, manufacturing, and recycling as well... I'll just say this: while there are a zillion ways to generate CLEAN energy, including that used to manufacture and charge these batteries, there's only ONE way to generate gasoline (as an example). And if you used the cleanest power in the world to make a gas powered vehicle and the SAME energy for the electric car, you're still way ahead on the electric car due to zero tailpipe emissions, controlling it at the source, and the inefficiency of a gas engine vs. electric motors.
