I complain about Martinelli but really, the chances he misses are chances he creates that trossard couldn’t have even made. Trossard isn’t fast enough. Martinelli is a threat down the wing offensively and is a beast defensively. Most wingers don’t do what Martinelli does defensively, when we need to lock up a game I trust Martinelli big time. @@darklawdshadow5679 we criticise players who dont perform and praise when they perform. If you dont rate some players, why pay attention and waste your time to how we Arsenal fans rate them.
Love the show but this thing about Jorginho being this sensational magical midfielder who is better than Partey is funny to me because Jorginho makes the same mistakes Partey makes but somehow Partey gets berated constantly 🤷🏻♂️
I think Partey gets it harsher because of some more added context. Like the fact that he cost 50m while Jorghino was like 15m. Partey is also on much higher wages around 2x more than Jorghino's. Partey hasn't really lived up to the expectations that were placed on him when we signed him, while I think it's fair to say Jorghino has at least hit the expectations set for him as a squad player. That's probably why he faces less criticism than Partey.
@@victorsomosu123 I get that however, the circumstances in which a player arrives at the club can never be the same so for me that means nothing. What do you see on the pitch? If the price tag makes you feel better about a player’s performance ok but once players arrive at the club what they paid for him doesn’t change how I feel if we win or lose.
@@victorsomosu123partey is our best DM on the ball so against the bottom 10 I would play him and rice can play all the big games when we don’t have the ball as much as he is a beast off the ball
Mikel loves to play up injuries. We saw it with Calafiori's injury yesterday. If there is any doubt over a player he will make it sound like they are injured even when they are fine. I assume this is to keep our opponents on the edge.
Hello James, has anyone told you you look like Tintin? Not trying to shade u but if there was a live action movie, you wld be the exact fit for the character.
I bet you Odegaard has been training with the team too. Arteta is truly playing chess. He's NEVER going to let anyone know what cards he holds to his chest.
The fact that now, we have a very competitive, talented, capable and experienced mix of midfielders, it'll do us really well. I can see us being proper close to the title this season, even winning it ...... this has nothing to do with things happening at any other club, this confidence I have comes from the developments from within our own squad.
Shoulder injuries nowadays are treated really quickly and precisely with modern technology by surgeons. Athroscopic procedures have real quick recovery times examples I can give are rugbyplayers getting shoulder replacements with minimal invasive surgeries and able to play full contact after six weeks.
Can't see Merino included in the squad tonight or this weekend. Arteta likes to wait a little bit longer after a player recovered. Expect to see him after the international break. Arteta's mastered the art of non-answering the media.
Regarding player transfers, AFtv and James have a tendency to speculate about potential signings that align with Arsenal's needs, which can generate excitement among fans. However, it is important to note that these speculations may not reflect the actual intentions or interests of the club.
@KC_485 yeah I'm hoping so. I'm guessing Arteta is using the International break to allow Odegaard to rest even longer. Probably doesn't want him going off to International duty. I hope Tomiyasu doesn't come back injured after the break
I suppose it’s possible he gets a few minutes either tonight or at the weekend, but I wouldn’t expect a start. Glad we’ve managed this initial run of games despite the crucial injuries we’ve suffered!
You'll always get pushback for criticizing the best finisher at the club. If you think about how last season would have gone without Trossard, you realize exactly how important his main contribution is. Martinelli and Jesus went stone cold on the goal front. Trossard's goals got us where ee were in our CL progress as well as allowing us to take it to the final day. While i completely understand whete you come from about him being capable of giving us more, questioning him, without acknowledging his biggest contribution, arguably the most important of all, will geberate pushback. I tend to think this is what pisses Trossard, himself, off
@@TheGoonerverse I really do understand. I guess we just live in a time where mildly questioning can come off like nitpicking. I made my comment simply because I have had similar thoughts as you do about Trossard; I've reconciled it by thinking about how much we need what he gives us and so that comes with accepting the areas where he could do more.
As much as I like Partey, I hope the slow speed is due to age and not pride or feeling of uncertainty or anything negative....and if it's due to pride, then it will be nice if he focus more on 1. Decision making 2. Passing 3. Positioning 4. Read the game well 5. Anticipate to collect the ball and press opponents well.
@@olumideoyedemi5202 I truly don't understand your meaning of pride, but records have shown that pride is not a factor that has been attributed to Partey either by the club or teammate. His main challenge was his recurrent injuries. When he's fit and available he contributes positively.
@@ebasski4958 I agree with you I also hope that this form is as a result of reoccurring injuries of the past. But he really needs to get back to that level (2 seasons ago).
Your take on Partey is spot on. On his day brilliant player but gives the ball away so often needlessly in dangerous positions, positionally is poor at times and is awful defending one on one’s. He’s obviously more expansive than Rice but our best performances last season were with Rice and Jorginho there. Even though Jorginho doesn’t have legs he organises around him and very very rarely gives the ball away. He’s never a liability there (as long as he has legs next to him in rice) whereas with Partey it’s almost every game we are broken on because of him giving the ball away stupidly or just being 20 yards out of position.
This take is actually incorrect. 1. Do we lose organization when jorginho isn't on the pitch, we actually don't, it's a myth perpetuated by the jorginho crowd. I see Partey on occasion directing players on the pitch, he just isn't as animated as Jorginho. 2. While Partey isn't the beast of defending he once was, he is far from awful. Outside of being Bodied by Morgan(Everyone was), how bad as he been this season, I feel his "defensive struggles" are overblown. In the Man City game I didn't hear anybody praising him for his defensive contributions. Partey leads the team in some defensive metrics 3. He doesn't get praised for his quick thinking allowing us to break on our opponents(Man City, Leicester), yet gets bashed when he gives the ball away trying to progress, while others who do the same seemingly never gets criticized. 4. There seems to be A hyper-fixation on Partey at the Moment, maybe it's cause of the allegations, or the fan base seemingly wants to see the new toys playing (Merino,Rice @ the 6), whatever it is, its overblown.
@@charles9489 “this take is incorrect” and then proceed to just give a load of your opinions. The balance and shape of the team is completely different when he has come into the team, which was shown by the XG against when he came in last season to what it was before, we barely conceded any chances with Rice and Jorginho in there. And what’s with all this shit about an agenda? The idea that Partey has been so good that there has to be anterior motives to criticise him. He’s a good player but can’t be trusted as a 6 given how much he gives the ball away and how often he switches off.
I enjoy your content but hearing you hold Jorginho on such a high pedestal, saying such things as better than Partey, better on the ball, blah blah, boggles my mind.
