In the last knight Optimus becomes nemesis prime and tries to kill bumblebee for a few minutes until plot happens and his voicebox comes back. Also when Optimus shows up after an hour or two of not being there since the beginning of the movie, Peter Cullen just kinda gives up and half asses his performance as Optimus. Somewhat emotional scenes are ruined by Optimus' bored tone.
I can't blame the toy for the kibble. The movie design shows almost no hints of him transforming into a truck apart from a few flame parts and the smokestacks. There are no wheels, windows, doors, gas tanks, etc.
Honestly, whoever designed the Knight/Human Proportioned Movie Transformers had it coming. There's no way they could keep a kibble free robot mode in toy form. That's why I hate Optimus' look since AoE. You can't even tell if he can still transform with that look. They made this problem themselves.

The reason that the vehicle modes are usually higher priority than the robot mode is because of brand deals. Think of it as the toy not only advertising the movie but also the real life vehicle it turns into. Bumblebee is a Camaro, Optimus is a Western Star, etc., and all of these vehicles are allowed to be used in the movies (and the toys) through brand deals, however these brand deals also means that the brands themselves has to be properly represented, leaving many of the movie toy designers no choice but to prioritize the vehicle mode.
While i do agree that primes personality and morals were very different in the films you have to admit there weren't very many opportunities for prime to engage in peaceful negotiations with the opposition. Megatron, the fallen, sentinel, KSI, quintessa, and soon unicron all wanted prime dead with no amount of communication going to convince them otherwise. The exceptions being sentinel begging for forgiveness and chromedome from KSI realizing they just made an immortal monster. Prime was always stuck having little options other than "kill everything in the name of freedom" or give in to the cons demands which he in fact did in the third film. The films are trash by any definition but there is a silver lining to every single one of them that i see that most fans completely miss or flat out ignore. INB4 shut up bayfan

cujoedaman I only liked the 1st 3 movies figures, I feel that they downgraded alot when age of extinction came out. the figures have no weight to them and I feel like the plastic is much more cheap feeling. Even the way they detailed the figure bothers me, it doesn't make the figure "pop" one bit. My favorite transformers toys were from the energon/armada series. They were PERFECT.
Sadly, as movie popularity wanes, toy companies try to find a way to keep merchandise relevant, but it suffers a lot from cost cutting. The lack of new toys from The Last Knight is a perfect example, there were almost NO normal bots, only fucking one-step bullshit or those really cheap "knockoff" ones that only allow for arm movement and don't even transform. Hell, even the normal line is suffering, they tried to do that Headmaster crap and no one gave a fuck. I remember when Leader Class Bumblebee had an "Alternators" type car mode, you could actually put Sam in the car. Optimus actually had a robot mode and not just a robot with truck parts tacked on his back. I honestly can't stand the movies, but some of the toys were actually very nice. Though, I realized the only ones I picked up were Decepticons, Shockwave, Laserbeak, Ravage, The Fallen, but one lowly Bumblebee I found at a Goodwill, with weapon too! :P

It wasn't even explained how he got his voice back, he just got it back the moment he prevented Prime from stabbing him. To make things dumber and more confusing Bumblebee's voice is what broke Prime out of his Nemesis Prime state (that's what evil Prime was called in the movie) and replied with and I quote "Bumblebee, your voice. I have not heard it since Cybertron fell." Even though he was there to witness Bee talking in the 2007 movie ON EARTH! Also Earth is Unicron like in TF Prime. The only difference is that TF Prime handle the concept of Unicron being Earth much better.
WWII bumblebee bee has the same problems as this guy, where the vehicle mode is either a backpack or localized in his calves. But it still is a really good toy.

@@hellofelloasians6208 Well at least Cade or Kade however you call it Yeager is like the first useful human in any transformer universe, except Sam killing Megatron, reviving Prime (credits should be to Jolt instead), and when he killed Starscream, Yeager on the other hand actually came to help Optimus when he fought Lockdown and had somewhat of a big role in The Last Knight.

But! His voice box was broken. It was at beginning of the movie and it just magically got fixed

0:50 Here's a spoiler, the "Forgive me" scene is the scene where Bumblebee got his voice back. It wasn't even explained how he got his voice back, he just got it back the moment he prevented Prime from stabbing him. To make things dumber and more confusing Bumblebee's voice is what broke Prime out of his Nemesis Prime state (that's what evil Prime was called in the movie) and replied with and I quote "Bumblebee, your voice. I have not heard it since Cybertron fell." Even though he was there to witness Bee talking in the 2007 movie ON EARTH!
Also Earth is Unicron like in TF Prime. The only difference is that TF Prime handle the concept of Unicron being Earth much better.
