Damn, he has a low voice and doesn't sound like he's singing that high - but when I try to hit the same note it's hopeless, and I'm 10 years younger now than he was in this video, and he's still singing and hitting these notes in his 70s.
He has a habit of singing his songs a little differently live. Combine that with his decaying (but still wonderful) voice and it explains why a few of you may seem a little disappointed.
Singers shouldn't get hate if they can't sing like they used to at 60. I mean, people with normal 9-5 jobs ussually retire somewhere around 60-65 right?

The band are great here and Patti is superb as always but Meatloaf? Must be something about the studio version he just can't reproduce live, even when he could still sing.

Nothing wrong with this?! There is one weak link in this performance - Loaf. His vocals are laughable, just as they are on 'Bat Out Of Hell Live in Melbourne' and 'Three Bats Live'. It is not at all unusual for the artists to sound the same as their albums live, if they possess what's known as "talent". Patti has it in abundance.
Patti is easily the most underrated rock vocalist. Performance theater the way it was meant to be.

The point is if someone can't sing live, regardless of the reason, they should stop, even if it isn't their fault. If they can't sing they can't sing.
