Probably one of the most annoying things is that a skinwalker is not a werewolf. Just say he's a werewolf, don't conflate him with an unrelated monster. Skinwalkers don't give a fuck about silver and according to legend the only thing that can kill them is being exposed as a skinwalker to the community, so appearing in the movie would be what kills him.

Proof that the guy in the movie wasn’t Native American (or at least didn’t follow some of their beliefs) is that he actually said the word “skinwalker”. Even typing it is not ok.
