Hi Jenna, thank you for the beautiful tutorial! Your instructions are clear and thorough. And the new camera work is awesome. I believe I can do it when watching! I haven't painted parrot tulips yet. We just visited a Tulip Farm in Lavernia TX near San Antonio and saw parrot tulips there. They were gorgeous and I took reference photos to paint them! I'd love a copy of your book. I'm excited to see the written instruction on these! Keep up the great work!
I love this tutorial....such a beautiful flower to paint....I have not painted this flower...but will watch again and give it a try....I am a beginner to watercolor....just turned 70....you make it look so easy....I have been trying since I found you on TH-cam....I have one of your books and have downloaded what you have offered ….thank you I love your tutorials....you are inspiring....I love your paintings! : )
I'm new to painting watercolors after not playing with paints since I was about 10, so more than 60 years and I'm learning so much now. The sun is in my face at my table now, so I'll be giving them a go this afternoon. I find your instruction so helpful! I love parrot tulips, among oodles of other flowers.
I have watched this video a couple of times. Parrots tulips are so intimidating that I have painted most of your videos except for this. I am reading and painting your Everyday Watercolor Flowers and I am now on the parrot tulip tulip page. Read the instructions over and over. Seemed reachable now so I watched your video again to give me extra confidence. I will definitely do it this time. I can do it now. Thank you.
Hello there, at first greetings from Holland the tulip land by far!!! Thank you for this tutorial. I've just started last January with watercolour, so I've just tried once to paint tulips. I bought a nice old book just the other week, with drawings and paintings of tulips, so every thing seems to come together.... I'm 60 years old, and started a new hobby, and watch your tutorials all the time...! So thank you!
Zero. I have not tired to paint any tulip flower but am willing to try when school is over. Love all your videos. They are so easy to understand and so doable. Makes newbie hobbyists like me brave enough to try painting.
So far, in my very short time as a wanna-be painter, I have painted 1 parrot tulip painting . And that is the one you painted in this tutorial. It may not look like much, but I am sure having fun painting along with your tutorials. Your instructions make it easy to follow along and I enjoyed looking up pictures and information about this beautiful flower as part of the process. Thank you for being such a great teacher!
Haven’t tried painting a parrot tulip until you’re video. Love your painting style and made easy “you can do it” tutorials. I hope to win your new book.
Never seen parrot tulips and never painted one but after watching this I’m very interested to paint one! I really love the color combination, thank you for the video Jenna! 🥰👍
I am speechless .. this piece is breathtaking. You are by far my favorite! I've never tried to paint Parrot Tulips. Didn't know they existed until I watched your video!
Oh snap, I bought this book before I found you on youtube. Now I can look at the picture and watch you at the same time. I'm 65 and just started painting I've done the clematis but not very well LOL. Anyway, I love painting even though I'm not good at it. I love being able to just go with the flow like they say. Oh and thank you so much for responding to my comment. It made me feel special. Now on to the tulip!!!!
I have just painted 1 because I watched your video! Thanks for being so helpful and kind. I truly enjoy learning with your tutorials. You are a womderful teacher. Thanks for the content ♡
Tried the 3 with you. Even the leaves, which I practiced with your leaf tutorial, are challenging. You have such a carefree, refreshing way of painting🤗
I love to paint tulips but i never tried parrot tulips yet. While watching this tutorial makes me so excited to paint one. I just want to thank you for sharing this to us you’re such an inspiration...
Jenna, I've been painting for a year, following different artists. I feel like if I found you first, I would have advanced faster! I love how you explain each sequence and in detail. Thank you for inspiring me to do better!
Your timing is impeccable! I have wanted to paint a Parrot Tulip for a little while but have been to intimidated to do it. I have been practicing regular tulips and was working my way up to the Parrot Tulips. Thank you so much for a great video to help us learn how to paint these gorgeous flowers. Much Love and Respect as always, Stacy
UPDATE: Three! I painted three, painted along with your video, had to give it a try! They turned out mostly nice except the stamens... should have used a thinner brush! Thank you Jenna, while I have not painted a parrot tulip yet, I have learned so much from this video; I appreciate all the painting details, tips and reminders you put in your videos that apply not only to the flower you are painting but to flower painting in general, you just upped my petal and leaf skills immensely! You are a good instructor, thanks!!!
I like tulips , many bouquets I can find in my garden, but I thought they were boring to paint. The parrot tulips open my eyes to another fun painting I could try. I've painted looking to your tutorial, so clear, but I need practice for sure !! The gesture have to be loose and precise in the same time. Thank so much for sharing your tips and tricks ! have a nice evening
Hi, Jenna! Watercolor flowers are absolutely my favorite subjects. You make it look so easy! I’m an elderly beginner but I’ll give these a try! Thank you for such a beautiful tutorial! 🌹
As a noob to watercolor, I’ve never tried the parrot tulip *gasps. But with this tutorial, I most certainly will give it a go! Thanks, Jenna. I love your teaching style, especially your delivery.
I’ve never painted tulips before but after watching your video I’m excited to try it out. Thank you so much for all your great tutorials. I’ve been painting for two months now and have been inspired by them. :)
I’ve been too intimidated by the parrot tulip to try painting them yet, but now I’m inspired by the way you broke it down and made it approachable. Thanks for the tutorial!
I had a some time before going and working out and thought I would try painting with you. With your instruction, I did a pretty good job of painting a parrot tulip. Not so good with the second one, but the one where you see all 5 pedals, I did a pretty good job. I had trouble with the pool of water, so was glad to hear you talk about that in this video. Thank you so much.
I've never painted a parrot tulip, but I'm excited to try. I drew and painted a lot of regular tulips in my art classes; my favorite tulip is tulip noir.
I am new to watercolor paints. I came across your channel a few months back and thought your work was beautiful, so for my Yule present from my partner, I got watercolor cakes, tubes and pencils. I have never painted a Parrot tulip before but I have seen them and they are quite spectacular. I would love your book as I do much better with written instructions then with verbal. Thank you for your amazing tutorials.
I have never painted a parrot tulip or any kind of tulips ever. You’re making me regret a lot of things right now. Lol. LOOOOOOVE your new website btw. It’s gorgeous in every way.
I tried painting the Parrot Tulip from your book on page 90 that I checked out of the library. This video, at 5:10 helped a lot with the diagram you show in the book of the brush stroke. I will attempt it again. Thank you for another great demonstration.
Zero painted to date but I would definitely like to try one. I’m hoping you demonstrate more flowers from your book because there’s nothing like seeing the artist laying down each stroke and seeing the process, to make you feel that it’s possible to do the same yourself. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you, Jenna! I love Parrot Tulips and have been trying to paint them, but am not happy with any of then. Your tutorial, as usual, is so well presented with just the right speed, step by step while adding details and clear instructions how to make different element and even change them. A beautiful composition that I can't wait to try😍♥🖌
Very new to watercolor, I love your tutorials because they give me hope that I will find my own creative voice. I painted along to the tulip tutorial and ended up with two decent tulips and some wonky leaves (need work there). Thanks!
I haven't painted parrot tulips even I just heard of it. And I just started to play with watercolor so my kind of training flower is rose. But I love watching your tutorials, it's such a new style to learn 💕💕
Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. I too had never heard of the Parrot Tulip, but the way you painted it has me wanting to try. I am a new beginner and still struggling with the water to paint ratio thing. When I watch you paint I feel as though maybe, just maybe I will be able to paint like you one day. Thank-you again
I have never painted these before but I'm really excited to try it. Your video is really helpful on how to go about painting them. Thank you for showing different stages of the flower ❤
Thanks for the tutorial! My mum and I are learning to do watercolour painting together. We live on opposite sides of the world, but our plan is to do loose watercolour projects using video . This video will be wonderful to follow along with.
Wow. Just breathtaking. I have only just found your channel a few weeks ago, so the most I've tried is to make peonies and leaves... I have painted 0 parot tulips. I have to say too that I truly appreciate the time you take to explain what you are doing with the brush and paint. I have watch many watercolor tutorials but none are as informative as yours. Thank you for the inspiration. I I'm public, cos I don't know how to change it. LOL
I’ve never tried painting a parrot tulip but I sure want to try! I really love your tutorials. I recently finished your first book (and painted all the lessons). Thank you for sharing your knowledge
27 minutes of excellence. Love the artwork. Love how your tutorials shows a subject from different angles making it a tutorial of gold standards. As I always say flowers and loose water color techniques seen in your channel is unmatched by any other channel. I can say it without any hesitation or thinking that this tutorial was 27 minutes of 24k gold. Keep up the good work Jenna and John :D
I watch/listen at work so I haven't tried to paint one yet. Tulips are flowers I haven't quite mastered and I'm so looking forward to trying this one out. They're such fun and beautiful flowers! I went to a tulip festival a few years ago and it was my first encounter with these tulips, I never knew there were so many! Great video, I'm a new subscriber and I've been listening to all of your tutorials while I work, it gets me through the day!
I painted along with you (on a much smaller piece of paper) so some were partials. Loved this because I always struggle with water ratios. But painting along with you I got it! Never heard of this flower before. I’m at 2 1/2 and going for another. So fun to paint!
I haven't painted parrot tulips yet, so zero on how many. I absolutely love the very close up camera angle. I have trouble with water control and being able to see closer up exactly how you're dropping in paint has been a revelation. Thank you for taking the time to work slowly enough to see your techniques. I plan to give the parrot tulips a try later today.
I absolutely love this flower as well ❤️. There is a lot of texture, color variation, and beauty this flower has to admire. I especially like the Amazing Parrot for it's bright red and orange edges and also the Queensland Tulip for it's delicate pink color and very feathered edges. Gorgeous flower hands down. I hadn't tried painting this flower until this video. So far I have painted one and plan on painting lots more. Thank you Jenna for sharing your talent and gift. You truly inspire me to paint. Thank you John for helping Jenna your technical skills are awesome! Appreciate and look forward to see more videos.🙂
Thank you for this video. I’m new to watercolor painting having just stared a week ago. Your videos have helped me a ton. I’ve tried the parrot tulip zero times but I’m about to try now! It’s such a pretty flower. I’m looking forward to it. Good luck to everyone and fingers crossed! 🤞
I admit I’ve never heard of parrot tulips until now, so I haven’t painted one before. But I can definitely see now why you like them! I will definitely give them a try soon. I’m just starting watercolor but I had fun with your leaves tutorials so trying something out with a flower will be a new adventure for me. 😃
Ok, tried it! Did four (because my first one was a little wonky). But I did it! And I can see how they're so fun to do: all the bleeding magic is addicting. Lol. Really learned a lot...especially how quickly my paper drinks up water. Wow! No wonder I haven't been able to get my colors to blend well before..... 🤔 Thanks again Jenna! 😀
Thank you so very much. I have just started watercolor painting and am using wet on wet as you advised. The burst of magic is worth if even when I mess up. I just watched this video and I while now try mu first parrot tulip. Happy dance!
I haven’t tried painting one until I just watched this video and am pulling out the paints now!! So beautiful! It’s so fun to watch your videos. I am learning so much from you. Thank you!!!
I did try painting a parrot tulips couple weeks ago when our neighbors gave us a dozen.🤗 I’m not sure if I’m public or not..... but I am a subscriber who loves all your videos🙌🏼
❤️🖌🎨💐Lovely work! Thank you for the chance to win a copy of your book, Jenna. As of yet I have not painted Parrot tulips💐, just parrots to date. Thank you for your tutorials as well. We’re it not for the generosity of people like you, I would never have started watercolour painting. I started as a senior and realize that there is so much to learn, it will take the rest of my life and then some so every little bit helps. 🇨🇦👩🏻🎨

LOL
Aw thank you so much Caralyn! I’m very glad you found my channel and that these videos are helpful for you!
I’ve never tried painting a parrot tulip but I sure want to try! I really love your tutorials. I recently finished your first book (and painted all the lessons). Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Aw I am so glad you love the tutorials!! Thanks for the love and support!!
I haven’t painted any yet, I watched and saved it and will paint it today. Thankyou.
Have so much fun, April! xoxo
Your comments are 24k gold to us, Ace! Thank you!
That sounds absolutely lovely, the tulip festival! I want to go! I'm so happy to hear my tutorials help get ya through the work day!! xoxo
I painted along with you (on a much smaller piece of paper) so some were partials. Loved this because I always struggle with water ratios. But painting along with you I got it! Never heard of this flower before. I’m at 2 1/2 and going for another. So fun to paint!
Ya, Tammy! Awesome!
Lovely! You make it look so easy. I am new to watercolor and am now practicing my brush stroke marks with my goal being a Parrot Tulip painting!
You'll get there! Just takes a lot of practice and don’t forget to enjoy the process!
I’ve never painted one of these before, but now I’m inspired to do so. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
You're welcome Lissette! Have fun!
I’m so glad this has been helpful for you, Peggy!
Aww thanks so much for the love, Eve, we appreciate you! ❤️
First time ever seeing this type of tulips. Thank you Jenna! 👍👌🏽
You're so welcome! ❤️
I'm so glad my videos are helping you in your new watercolor passions, Chelle! Have fun painting!!
Thanks for sharing, Jessica, I am so glad you're having fun painting along with these tutorials! ❤️
I gave it a shot, 3 parrot tulips! I found this one a little more challenging than the other tutorials thus far.
Ya it can be a little tricky, but I hope you keep giving it a try! You can do it!
@@JennaRaineyChannel I wish we could post photos on here! Would be great for critiques.
Thank you so very much. I have just started watercolor painting and am using wet on wet as you advised. The burst of magic is worth if even when I mess up. I just watched this video and I while now try mu first parrot tulip. Happy dance!
I havent painted one yet but it is definitely on the long list of many that I want to now. STUNNING !
So stunnning, right?!
I haven’t tried painting one until I just watched this video and am pulling out the paints now!! So beautiful! It’s so fun to watch your videos. I am learning so much from you. Thank you!!!

One of my favorite flowers too! Thank you Jenna... this is so helpful and beautifully executed! You are so talented!
I did try painting a parrot tulips couple weeks ago when our neighbors gave us a dozen.🤗 I’m not sure if I’m public or not..... but I am a subscriber who loves all your videos🙌🏼

I've painted tulips but never this kind, they're so pretty! Love the edges 😍
So pretty, right?!
@@JennaRaineyChannel yes!
Aw I am so glad you’re getting into painting and that I can help you continue to grow in your journey! thanks for watching Joy!
Love your first book, and love your floral tutorials here on TH-cam so I think this book would be right up my alley.
Aw thanks Vanessa! I'm so happy to hear you love Everyday Watercolor and these tutorials!
Jenna Rainey that was amazing. I have not painted any parrot tulips yet but I want to try this. Thank you!
Aw thanks so much Barbara! ❤️
It's like magic. I can't wait to try this.
Thanks Barbara! Have fun!
