What is this project? The youtube algorithm randomly decided I needed to see it and googling shieldxl returns power strips and pistol sights.

The project is a remix of the monome norns shield - a sound computer. I'll add some links in the description.

Love this remix of norns shield!! I'm searching much information as possible to build one by myself, but it's hard to find it all....
One question is the mainboard available anywhere (or is there a site with more details on the mainboard)? Thank you!

Hello! This project is fairly new. There was a small run of boards which sold out and I expect another batch to come together in 4-5 weeks. Information is on github github.com/okyeron/shieldXL Open source release to come soon.

This is awesome. I just built my first Shield this past week. Think if I get it put to good use I'll have to give one of these a go!
Noted in your git repo that it has a midi hardware switch. Are you pulling midi from the 3.5mm jack on the side? What kind of adapter are you using?
    Nice work!

Hardware MIDI functionality is only on shieldXL - it's got its own TRS 3.5mm jacks on the shieldXL board and is wired directly to the appropriate pins on the pi.
