@@aquietgarden Thank you! Unfortunately it broke. I had superglued tabs on the top and bottom aluminum plates which were threaded so I could screw on the wooden sides. The tabs broke off and I have tried several types of glue with no luck. I guess the best way would be welding them onto the plates but I don't have the tools, nor the knowledge how to use them. I have instead made silicon moulds so I can cast all parts in epoxy resin. The first castings turned out pretty well but I haven't had the time to make a full set yet.
this is great! I am wondering how did you set up the oooooo script? I am having trouble with feedback on mine whenever it starts to record. Did you have to change any settings?
What kind of feedback problem do you mean? Like a howling feedback loop? If yes it means the outgoing audio somehow is fed back into the input. I don't know how your setup looks like so it's difficult to give a more detailed answer.
@@TheTrackdriver yeah its more like a hiss that turns into a loud fuzzy blanket of ear crushing doom. Your right its something to do with how the input is being handled but it is within the program as it happens even from tape and with the output going just to headphones. The norns shield I am using is 210330 on a pi3b. Confusingly other scripts that record don't have the same issue. Thats why I am guessing it must be something in the settings of the script. Or I mucked up the soldering in a super specific way
@@ewansvsdyslexior I have been experimenting with the script today and tried different settings but don't get any feedback loop. Maybe you have "delaylaylay" mode selected? That mode created a feedback loop-ish noise. You can check the mode under PARAMETERS->EDIT and then scroll down to "choose mode". If it says "delaylaylay" you might have to use the maiden online editor and delete the "oooooo" folder to change it back to the default mode. I had to do it because the script kept going back to the delay mode no matter what I did.
every time i see the shield, i want it! this video is no different. very calming and excellent!
This is so good
Your Shields case is 👌👌👌
Thank you🙂 It was a lot of work
@@TheTrackdriver it looks it! Great sounds too
@@TheTrackdriver It was worth every moment of your work!

Beautiful! What is that little eq?
Hi, it's actually a tiny MIDI controller - "8mu" from Music Thing Modular😊 It's like two credit cards stacked on top of each other with sliders.
Thanks! This is an inspiring video :)
Are you powering that preamp from Norns? The buzz could be a ground loop issue
I'm powering the Norns with a powerbank. The preamp (that is powered by a 9 V battery internally) boosts the kalimba up to line level.
@@TheTrackdriver aah ok, I’ve missed the midi controller in the back :D
ooo, does the music thing modular slider work with norns? I've been thinking of combining the two.
Awesome work you're doing here!
yes it works😀
That's why I bought a kit btw. To control the Norns.🙂
@@TheTrackdriver Brilliant news! I might get me one 😉
