    Thank you for the video! It's nice to see how much of the OCS system has been completed, while I'm a little disappointed that more hasn't been finished. It still shows that more is being completed and eventually we'll be riding the new Stadler units very shortly!

    So I don’t believe they’re starting electric service until September so I should be safe to summer getting more Nippon cab rides and F 40s

    Information was very helpful. So the F40PH-2C’s are really 3C’s. What are the names of the Union Pacific locals on that line

    Did they go forward out of the yard in Gilroy into the station or do they go backwards out of the yard into the station? I want to go out there again from New York this summer and do Gilroy this time and other things that I missed.

      The yard is parallel to the station, so they have to shove out of the yard south, and make a respot move northward to the platform.

    How do you film cab rides?

      Me, I just hold my phone against the window the whole ride. Some hard work.

      @@BayAreaTrackside Get one of those suction cup things and stick it to the glass. By the way, enjoy the head end videos while you still can. It will no longer be possible from Tamien to San Francisco when the new Stadler electric MU units go into service. Cabs on both ends will be enclosed and off limits to passengers. To my knowledge, there are no plans to electrify beyond Tamien to Gilroy. But who's to say what the future may bring in years to come. Electrification could be extended along the line in increments. It's also possible to buy dual mode engines to run direct, one-seat service from Gilroy to San Francisco. But my guess is that diesel hauled trains will run as shuttles from Gilroy to Tamien for the foreseeable future. Passengers would transfer at Tamien. It's unlikely that diesel hauled trains will run under the catenary beyond Tamien. That being the case, no more head-end videos from Tamien to San Francisco with the Stadler electric MU train sets.
      Speaking of dual mode engines, N. J. Transit is very happy with theirs. Amtrak has ordered dual mode engines to eliminate costly and time consuming engine changes in places like Washington, D.C., Harrisburg, Penna., New York City, Boston, etc.
