Love the content. We desperately need more Long & McQuade related content up here in the Great White North, as for so many of us this is the biggest and only store in town with an actual selection hanging on the wall. Keep up the great work!

This wasn't really meant to be a Long & McQuade-focused video but I guess more of that sorta thing couldn't hurt

The first thing you do after opening the box is cut the strings off, remove the tuners and melt them down and make some sporks. Open up the tuner holes and install any decent sub $50 tuners and string it up, it’ll play beautifully.

Yeah I imagine that would be a serious improvement. I don't have enough sporks in my silverware drawer

@@dillonjamesxp everyone can use some extra sporks 😎

My wife gave me this guitar as a birthday gift earlier this year, as well as a Marshall mini amp. I'm a total beginner (never played guitar before), but I've been using Yousician and I always have a good time playing. Noob question, would you say Yousician is a good platform to learn guitar or do you have any recommendations?
I might also be looking to buy either an acoustic guitar or a mid tier electric guitar for Christmas. Any tips or suggestions?
By the way, fantastic channel, I've just subscribed!

Hey thanks for the sub! I've never used Yousician so I can't really say if it's good or not. I've always learned the most by taking in-person lessons and writing my own songs. For online lessons, Guitar Super System is a pretty good choice. As for your next guitar, I'd say anything with a fixed bridge and simple controls that you find comfortable to play and stays in tune pretty well. That guitar for me was a Telecaster.

Sounds decent but Definitely not for beginners out of the box for tuning issues.
    Makes a better mod platform.
How you like that Mesa Neural DSP?
    I’ve been loving it

I agree! And I've been loving it! I still mostly use Archetype: Petrucci for leads, but it's a really nice rhythm plugin.

I knew going in the tuners were headed right into the garbage can. I also use PRS style screws on the bridge. Those two things make this a fantastic guitar. Oddly Kramer doesn't even offer an upgraded version of this Strat style guitar and they should. I bought 2 of these, in black and Teal. One got a Floyd Rose locking Nut and a locking bridge block mod. Dives like a Floyd and stays in tune perfectly.
These guitars are a great platform to upgrade. Certainly as nice as Fender Mexi Strats once a couple items are fixed. Gibson could take market share from Fender if they offered an upgrade to this platform. Odd. They make the Pacer but the body is ugly.

Yeah I felt it had some real potential as a mod platform. I kinda wish I kept it to try those mods out!

@@dillonjamesxp it just needed a couple small things to match or beat a Mexi Strat which costs over $650. Worth the investment. Really what is the heart of a guitar? The wood. Its got the wood, just needs massaging.
Anyone who owns a version of a Strat with a 6 screw trem needs the PRS style screws. Massive improvement.

From my perspective the cheaper option is always the best one. Noted, I can fix and repair most problems that might crop up. Also, if the wood, neck and body or good, cheap guitars are a great way for people to cut their teeth on upgrading hardware over time.

I did 432 for a while back in my early days. Interesting sound!
