I just replaced one today and I have to say hats off to KIA! You did something right. I opened a small door in my trunk and turn a knob and pulled out the tail light so I could pull out the brake light and then put in the new bulb. I put the brake light fixture back and then the tail light fixture. It took all of three minutes. I wish everybody would make things so simple. I didn't have to change the entire light, just a small bulb. I bought two for $8.99. I was very pleased with how simple it was. I wish other engineers would follow suit. The world would be a less frustrating place.
You don’t have to remove the whole unit. Remove the white plug connector, then the reddish bulb socket comes out easily. Carefully move the wires to the side, and pop it out. I changed my 18 Optima bulb outside the auto parts store with zero tools.
Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and the dash light will go off. Then just reconnect the battery. No more warning light. They would have charged you three hundred to do that at most dealerships and you would never know what they did and how simple it is.
Is mine the only one with the 3rd brake light? Everyone wants to show you how to replace the rear 2 but never the 3rd one in the back window why? It's a brake light why aren't you guys including it?
THANK YOU!!!!!! Damn wires, fixtures, & bulb are so tightly crammed together, & very hard to twist and pull the socket out that holds the bulb smfh I had to bust a 🥜 damn near🤣 took me a little longer than 2:04 🤣 but mission completed
Hey did you figure out how to get the check brake light warning off? Having the same issue. I changed both bulbs and now it’s saying both are off but they’re actually working perfectly
@@chrisajello22 I replaced mine with LED bulbs. The dealer said since the amperage is different than incandescent the warning light will always be on. I changed them again with incandescents and it turned off.
Wow crazy how they wouldn't make the plug and light accessable from the trunk, without having to remove the whole light. Lmfao engineering at it's finest

@@rageoner7242 the white socket is in the way of the red bulb socket on the 2016 kia unfortunately
@@rageoner7242 is the 2015 and 2016 Kia the same as far as the bulbs?
I thought so cus he making this look a lil hard
Thanks man thus comment was more helpful than the video
And there it is.. no talking just straight to it.. love it 💯💯💯
Best tutorial video I’ve used so far
Life saver thank you for the video!
How do you get the light to go off
Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and the dash light will go off. Then just reconnect the battery. No more warning light. They would have charged you three hundred to do that at most dealerships and you would never know what they did and how simple it is.
What is the size for the bulb 🤔... Thats something i need to know
swear I have to come back to this video every six months. No idea why my right brake light goes out so often, I’ve yet to have to change the left one
Water could be seeping through and shorting it.
It's wiring harness that's bad. Just turn your lights on and bend/wiggle the harness and you'll see your problem.
Replace the connector and wiring...about $45 per side, buy parts on Amazon or at NAPA
Stop buying the cheap bulbs and use bulb grease
Thank you 👍🏼
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you ...for helping me...
Nice and simple. Thanks!
4/10 socket?

@@hononymous that’s what I figured. The LEDs look great but the warning is annoying the crap out of me. I’ll do the same I appreciate the help

Wow so Kia makes it harder than they have to make it huh.
