RBI stopped printing 2000rs notes in 2018 but I can remember seeing this note after 2017 😅. Common people were hesitating to use it because for day to day use it was difficult to exchange 2000rs notes, so common people unofficial phase out these notes after some months of demonetisation 😄
And after unofficially phaseing out 2000 rupees note now common people shifted to digital payment systems like UPI , NPCI , PayTM , G-Pay , Phone Pay , Bharat Pay etc .
May be MP, MLA , gold merchants , very rich businessmen , Actors etc may be hoarding it . But you are right , I have not seen a single 2000 rupee note for the last 3 years . Ofcourse after UPI I don't see 500 rupee with anyone , some people keep 100 rupee for food , rest everywhere people always pays with their mobile , even for Tea and coffee .
I think it's a brilliant strategy, 2000 rupee notes will be the favourite for a person if he wants to store money as black money, as it will be very convenient to store because more money can be stored in less notes. Now phasing out the notes will surely be of tremendous help in the fight against black money. It doesn't matter if demonetization was failure or not... But such steps shows the effort and will of the government to reduce the corruption and black money in the country.
We support this step of removing 2000 rupee note as legal tender, but in parallel govt has to make sure that UPI availability is around 99.99% coz in some cases it has been seen that UPI transaction are not available coz of Bank servers are down. We have been observe this in cities but not sure about urban villages

The primary reason is 2000s were temporary from beginning. Now the transaction flow is stable and enough amount of 500s and 100s are available so they are removing 2000s from flow
2000s notes were not printed for free, it was tax payer's money that ended up in a disaster. Now suddenly a large part of economy is absent for exchange, it will badly affect the share market.

You would be shocked to know that Paxtan imported the same currency paper 1.5× the need of its own consumption. Rumours were, that Paxtan used to print more Indian Rupees than Paxtani rs. But after the intro of new Indian currency, the previous raw material wasn't of any use. And since then, paxtan's downfall started!!!

2000rs note was introduced because they want easy way to exchange old 500 & 1000 notes instead of two 1000 notes RBI could print one 2000 so printing is faster and transportation is easy for RBI...

We all know that there is a shortage of semiconductor chips. To tackle it, RBI decided to withdraw all ₹2000 notes from market. As a famous journalist once said that the currency note had microchip inside it, RBI will take the chips away and supply to car, smartphone manufacturers and generate profits from it.

I knew it much earlier that this is gonna happen because some analysts were predicting the same and if I knew it then most probably those who're using these notes for "tax saving" must have prior knowledge about it too so they would have already got rid of these notes so I don't think it will create any large impact.

When I speak to small businessman they say that the only reason they require black money is actually to pay the government officers in Inspector themselves and Nobody Else ! The government refuses to reduce rules and regulations and Inspector Raj. Corruption has increased after demonetisation not reduced. When nobody can have faith in the Indian currency where is the question of it becoming an international currency

2000rs note was introduced because they want easy way to exchange old 500 & 1000 notes instead of two 1000 notes RBI could print one 2000 so printing is faster and transportation is easy for RBI...

We all know that there is a shortage of semiconductor chips. To tackle it, RBI decided to withdraw all ₹2000 notes from market. As a famous journalist once said that the currency note had microchip inside it, RBI will take the chips away and supply to car, smartphone manufacturers and generate profits from it.

I knew it much earlier that this is gonna happen because some analysts were predicting the same and if I knew it then most probably those who're using these notes for "tax saving" must have prior knowledge about it too so they would have already got rid of these notes so I don't think it will create any large impact.
