Very nice car, clear video. Like Vince I’m trying to get my 83 Spur with a division on the road and save it from the wreckers. Videos like yours and Vince’s help keep me motivated to keep going. Fuel tank, fuel lines out and redone ready to go back in. SU carbs are out getting refurbished ATM. I have carefully removed most of the leather interior and have been removing 40 years of dirt with leather cleaner. The sun does a lot of damage here in Australia. Maybe I should do a video (s) of the re assembly for future enthusiasts like ourselves. 🤷🏼♂️
Hi mate thanks for watching. Yes its a great car and it will be defo worth the hard work. My dad had a spur in 81 i remember growing up in it was lovely. I find autoglym leather cleaner with a shoe polish brush gets right into the grain of the leather then followed by a autoglym leather treatment sealer. Well done for your efforts these cars should never go to scrap to much of a real car and very well built. It will be a labour of love. You should defo put up a video of your work keeps us all enthusiastic and send me a link when you do it will defo be an interesting watch. What colour combo is your car by the way?
@@raenzoperformance9600 Ice mint green with a dark green leather interior. Thanks for the leather tip, I’m using leatherique and the leather is now softer, it was rock hard before.
Thankyou always nice to let someone appreciate your pride and joy.. wow ok about the spirit ive never driven a shadow but heard they are a great drive nice to know the spirit is a better drive..
No doubt mate lovely cars to buy and own stay tuned i have another rolls video coming soon subscribe and hit the bell icon so you dont miss it thanks alot.
Great video and a lovely car. I'm currently attempting to get one back on the road over on my channel and I have a question you might be able to answer. Does the brake pedal on yours have very little resistance even when you press it down hard? So unlike a normal car it seems easy to press all the way down. I've never driven one before so the brake pedal feels different than what I am used to. Cheers 👍
Hi mate thanks for watching my video in terms of your question it seems like your brakes are not pressuring up right i had a 81 model that used to feel like it had no resistance and used to brake right at the bottom as i was driving upto cars it always felt like i was going to end up in the back of them until i got right down to the bottom i think it boils down to 2 things from my experience the brake accumulator or the brake pump i would start with changing out the old fluid for new and bleeding the brakes correctly then if that doesnt solve it change the accumulators they are like round balls in the engine bay there will be 2 and they are available from flying spares that solved this issue for me on my 81 model but if it doesnt you may want to look at the brake pump. But to answer your question that is defo not right it should brake like any other automatic and tbf when working properly the rolls royce has a good braking system.
@@raenzoperformance9600 Thank you so much for the quick detailed reply. I have changed the 2 green spheres (accumulators) in the engine bay and there is pressure in the system when I do the brake pressure test. It's just the pedal feels like no resistance when stationary. I haven't actually driven it yet. MOT will be in a month or so, so I'll look into it further. Thanks again for the reply, filming your lovely car and good luck with your channel 👍👍
@@Mymatevince thanks mate looking at your last video of the car you certainly have your work cut out on that one.lol will be lovely once done nevertheless i just noticed your back driver side suspension is dropping that could well be your problem as if it is losing pressure there could be a leak and i may be wrong but i believe the two systems are linked to some extent maybe worth checking out you may find when you drive it the pedal picks up a bit good luck
Beautiful motor 😍 my Uncle had a couple, talking about the interior I think they say in the new Phantom there's place's they've used plastics u don't get any of that in the Crewe car's ✌️ r you selling it btw just curious ✌️
Hi mate thanks for your comment i will be doing a comparison with the phantom soon.. not for sale yet i think its one i wana sit on for a while do have some love for this buety.
A beautiful classic, 1988 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit, just wonderful....I must ask, what is the actual colour called. ?. It looks like Dimond Blue Silver, but I am probably wrong......Great fantastic Video 👍.
Very informative thanks. I live in Spain and am thinking of getting one of these or a Bentley turbo.r , if you drive your car with a soft foot , how many miles per gallon? I remember I drove a silver spur for a day and was quite impressed with the gas mileage as I was just wafting around town, it was not as ruiness as they told me. Is it also true that the more you drive them the better they ate?
Hi mate thanks for watching and commenting i would say if your being good expect around 10mpg.on a running highway you may get 10 to 15 i believe the efis are a bit more efficient than the carb cars. But every car will be slightly different and road conditions weather etc will all have an influence. I must stress however when you drive the rolls royce fuel consumption will be forgotten as the car is so rewarding in many ways. Smiles for miles as i say lovely car i would say buy a nice condition well looked after one as a good example will not only retain future value but also give you less trouble in the long run look for paperwork and large files of maintenance. Best of luck keep me posted if you get one would love to see some pictures. Also please subscribe i have more rolls videos coming
I respect the Spirit/Spur, but I LOVE my Silver Shadows! I have a 82 Spur and 89 Turbo R, but I get more comments when I drive the Shadows! Perhaps, the Shadows are the automobiles the public associates with Rolls Royce. If not the Shadow, it would definitely be the Clouds!
Hi mate thanks for your comment if u subscribe and stay tuned im currently working on a buying guid video should be out this coming week will be good watch for you.
82 Silver Spirit for sale car and classic magazine £2995! It runs well, same owner 92-2022, and now tax and mot exempt. It will probably cost 5 grand to fix everything but spread the cost over time and you won't feel it!
Don;t be fooled thinking it's slow by doing 0-60 in 11 secs in the real world at the traffic lights if you floor it will go 0-30 mph like a dragster. TORQUE!
@@raenzoperformance9600 Yep also try 30-70 mph and 50-70 mph One thing I do know is no one gets in front of Silver Spirits they are a formidable sight on motorways!
just subscribed, I was originally looking to buy a CL500 4.7 Biturbo as a weekend car/ show off car going out, but I then thought why not go out like a real gentleman and thought of the old rolls, I've always like the look of these, and I'm a big fan of hydropneumatic suspension from Citroën since they're fantastic and eat up road imperfections, a nice serviced example of a cl500 costs me about 12-15,000 pounds. and the roller is around 15k for a nice silver spirit/ spur. They're real Rolls-Royce, not like the newer BMW kit cars, even though I'd buy one. just a couple of questions: How's the suspension system in the Rolls-Royce? what does it ride like? how would the costs compare to a something like a CL500 or S class from 2010, or if i can email you and have a quick exchange of words. Im 24 and ive always had big old cars alone in the Uk, If you have instagram please let me know would love to have a conversation about this! wishing you all the best. (PS, How bad is it on fuel, I have a old twin turbo volvo 2.8 T6 and that does around 20 light foot eco and about 14-15mpg driving it a bit proper) Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful my friend.
Only those in the know can truly appreciate a classic Rolls-Royce !
Well done.
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it stay tuned i got some more rolls royces coming on the channel.

My Dad used to won the 5 inch longer Silver Spur version an absolute beast! In 2015 we stopped at a garage and it upstaged a Merc Maybach!
Funny thing in 80s my dad also had the spur what a beast it was pure elegance i still remember it 40years on

With classic English number plate a Silver Spirit is fantastic, with german, Italian or french number plate no.
If I were to buy one of these beauties, what would I be looking for not to buy the Rolls-Royce I'am looking to buy?
