      6 meals and drugs both play a big role but you didn’t mention genetics. The best genetics are pro athletes by far. Throw in nutrition, training, and don’t downplay drugs bc they have a serious impact. Just look at natural vs non tested shows. The difference is mind boggling

      This is true. I literally needs to eat 6000 kcal a day on a bulk along with with right science to get Big. But when you it for years i agree, anyone can get Big. The right science do not mean AAS alone. HGH/ insulin/ test is the way to go transform the body for those who dont know this, and of course you need to do bloodwork and monitor BP to make sure you are ok. It is not healthy But it is not as unhealthy as other things if you know what to do

  • @marcosramos5117
    @marcosramos5117 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    To be a competitive bodybuilder n the Open? Yeah genetics is still a major deal IMO. Yes what Dave stated is true not everyone has the drive but you also need the genetics to not only build a body like that but also to tolerate the PEDs and food/supplements.

    • @veryfitblondeguy
      @veryfitblondeguy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think this is a common mistake most national level and pro bodybuilders make, they think everyone is like them. I can tell you first hand when I was competing I had the drive, nutrition, mental, etc.. , hell at one point I had not even had anything sweet or cookie for like 5 years. I had all and more supplements than I needed, but simply put my genetics would never take me past a few 1st and seconds in amateur level shows and eventually I had to accept that. Was always fun watching my friends who eat and train like crap, pull ahead of me...genetics plays a huge role.

  • @mrbillyb1966

    U can have great genetics. Work out hard and even have access to quality gear. But if u cant afford the price tag for the groceries u will need its pointless.
    Way back in the day when I was experimenting I found it was the food and supps that was the most expensive. Gear was actually less costly then my rent. Taking a part time job at the gym helped with free access to working out.
    These pros are very fortunate to have great sponsors.

    I know this might be a silly question, however, wondering what others might think. Is it possible to get "bigger" in my 40s or is it something where I just have to maintain what I have and condition? I am not interested, obviously, in competing, but I would like to grow my arms, legs, back, etc. I always dreamed of having 20" arms, currently at 18", 5'8", 190ish pounds. Thanks!

    It’s weird how Dave can be so knowledgable and also be so wrong about DEXA scans. DEXA is a whole body x-ray. To lump it into pinch and resistance “scans” is ludicrous. They actually differentiate between subcutaneous and visceral fat along with giving bone density.

    This is true. I did not grow at all until i decided to put on muscle seriously.
    When i started to apply HGH and insulin along with the aas is when i started to notice serious results.
    You do also need to train heavy and eat a lot to see results. I see a lot of guys eating below 4000 kcal a day and thinks that is How you get Big. I literally needs to eat 5500 kcal to gain muscle and when i get bigger i probably needs to eat even more.
    I also found out taking igf-1 lr3 along with a couple of units of insulin and HGH right before the gym with an intra workout drink with EAA and dextrose is yielding some serious results. People just wont hear the truth and is too scared to do it themselves to actually find out about this. If you do choose this route you do need to take Care of bloodwork and you do need to pay attention to your body. The HGH and insulin is not doing any side effects if you do it right, But High amounts of gear will. Just dont go crazy with steroids and do what is needed to keep your body healthy

      unfortunately eating all that food also means yur waist will blow out - circa 6kcal of clean quality food will definitely not be kind on the waist. thats why its better to take smaller, quality gains. than big leaps which will mess up your lines. Size doent mean a great deal if you have no lines. im sure you agree with that.

    Toward the question of drugs/genetics it's easy to answer, we have an existing group of chemically augmented mass monsters, they would represent the data set of combined genetic and drugs. Simply take that set and stop them from using drugs, that new set would represent the upper end of "drug free" bodybuilding. The indicated difference in appearance would equal drug induced gains.

    Nick Walker is a perfect example that you don't need good genetics to be a bodybuilder. You just have to be willing to take the doses and eat the food consistently.

    • @anron234
      @anron234 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You are out of your mind if you think he doesnt have the genetics. You really think everyone can build that mass, arms, hamstrings etc. Genetics are not just structure, its about how much mass you can put on your frame. Tired of you newbies who never will understand what genetics are all about. Good luck everyone who pushes the food and doses and put on 280 pounds of lean mass on a height of 170 cm (5'7)

    • @simonkrebs6043
      @simonkrebs6043 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      With Nick it is his structure not his androgen response or muscle growth factors.
      So genetics has many facets.
      - If the circulatory system is not there to support the muscle then there will be little muscle
      - The number of androgen receptor sites and the response to steroids
      - The robustness of the tendons and joints
      - The structure
      - The muscle inserts and muscle bellies
      So all of these of others play a role in the term people use as genetics.
