- The Las Vegas Raiders have made a lot of massive changes this offseason. But one decision not yet defined is who the Raiders starting QB will be. The latest reports out of the Raiders indicate their is a clear favorite. Fans of the Las Vegas Raiders should be really excited by this new.

I've watched them all from 1960. Saw Flores through O'Connell. The ONE QB the Raiders had that is in the Hall of Fame was the greatest come from behind QB of his generation. At his inauguration into the Hall, Hall of Fame coach John Madden said that if his team needed a touchdown in the 4th quarter with no time outs and only 2 minutes left there was only one QB he'd want of all that have come and gone. That QB was Kenny "Snake" Stabler. I have to agree hands down, with no reservation. What he accomplished at a time when QBs struggled to complete 50% of their passes in a season in an NFL that was brutally unkind to the passing game, Snake AVERAGED 60% completion in his career and in 1976 he completed an astonishing 66.7% and led the Raiders to a 13-1 season and the Raiders first Superbowl win. That season even included "The Impossible Comeback" when early in the season, playing the Superbowl Champs the Steelers who were 100% healthy and the Raiders playing with a makeshift three man defensive front because devastating injuries left their roster stripped of lineman. As predicted, the Steelers dominated the game and were leading by 14 points midway through the 4th quarter with the Steelers with the ball. It was time to que Dandy Don to sing "Turn out the lights. The party's over". All the Steelers had to do was run Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier to run out the clock.
Que Stabler in the "House of Miracles". He marshalled an impossible comeback against the best defense of all time, the Steel Curtain. He engineered 17 points in half a quarter, with some help from the Raiders D forcing a turnover, to win that game. I saw it. 31-28. The energy in the Coliseum was electric. I still bask in the afterglow of that miracle victory. It's also when I knew we were going to win the superbowl even though it was only the first game of the season, Sept 12, 1976 in Oakland. There was no one like him anywhere in the NFL. Stabler carried the Raiders on his back because Al Davis, despite how unfriendly the NFL was to the passing game, ran his team's offense centered around the passing game.

Met Plunkett a few times as a kiddo. You could find him and a lot of the players filling up at the Golden Corral in Oxnard during training camp. So if you’re a fan you go to camp to grab autographs and mess around then head on over to GC for all you can eat.
I’ve watched Ken Stabler, Mark Wilson, Jim Plunkett, Derek Carr and everyone in between. By far the best was the snake! We were never out of any game with him on the field!
Man Plunkett was awesome in big games too and really proved his worth in 1983-84 as the team rallied around his return as starter later.that season - #12#16
I wish we had the opportunity to watch Carr with a top defense like Snake had.

AOC will take the Raiders to the AFC Championship in 2024 against the Ravens. Ravens 27-24. AOC takes the Raiders to the Superbowl in 2025. Raiders 34-Texans 24.

My favorite Raider QB of all time is still Kenny the "Snake" Stabler. (Raider fan since 1965) Plunkett delivered 2 Superbowls, but the snake provided more big games and big plays. I believe Aiden O'Connell is our QB1. If he should be unable to take to the field, Gardner Minshew will be there thankfully.

Offense sells tickets defense wins championships. All we need aoc to do is not make mistakes and to make 2 or 3 good plays a game. Control the game.
Stabler was a guy that just won. The original come back kid. There was a coolness to Kenny that was true to who he was. Part Bandit from Smokey and the Bandit, part Hells Angel, part master strategist. The man called his own plays! He got better the tougher the game got. Most importantly his team believed he could do anything.

O’Connel is accurate or has shown accuracy and has demonstrated the ability to read through his progressions it doesn’t matter if he’s mobile if he can do that. An improvement in subtle pocket movement would be great.

AOC is a leader , I see how he is so calm even as a rookie. I think he is the only rookie who scored 65 points against a team. His height is also his great advantage that allows him to better scan the field. It’s been said that practice makes perfect and that’s what he is busy doing. What we saw last year is being tampered into steel.

I think AOC is going to surprise everyone. Rough start last year but started to gain some confidence in the last few games. He may be a hidden gem out there. If he really did take this off season to work on mechanics he may surprise all of us.

Offense and defense will be lights out....
You don’t need a hall of fame franchise qb to win a Super Bowl. You can do it with a good defense and offensive team mates just like Brad Johnson did with the Vikings, like Jim McMann did with the Bears, and Joe Flacco and Trent Dilfer did with the Ravens. Give the guy a chance to prove himself before judging him. You may be correct but it’s too early to tell.

I remember Stabler and all of them afterwards.. In order of best, my top 5 Raiders are Blanda, Stabler, Plunkett, Gannon, Carr. The only reason why Carr isn't top two is that he doesn't have a postseason victory. Statistically, Carr may be the best.
For AOC to rank top 5, he has to climb the ranks of history and take down the best QB's of our current time.

My favorite Raiders QB of all time is Ralph Kaputnik…unfortunately for Ralph he died right before the 1979 season. His death can be attributed to stealing a shrimp went out to the ocean and caught like 50 pounds of shrimp and ate them all at dinner one night..his cholesterol shot up to around 1200 since shell fish is very high in cholesterol.. Poor Ralph died from a stroke. He and Kenny Stsbler were buried during the same funeral services…Most experts say that he had more talent than Stabler but he just couldn’t stop eating all that shrimp

Ken Stabler won some of the most exciting games in NFL history! Please do not forget Jim Plunket won 2 super bowls. Please people I am not throwing shade on AOC, but the Raiders are foolish if they do not move a few stars for draft capital. We need draft picks to move up or cap space for a star. A good game manager won’t get it done in the AFC!

Feedback - keep in mind - it's just my opinion. Take it or leave it. I am taking the time to say it and say it respectfully. show has gotten better but still dry, slow delivery and needs a bit of energy in vocal delivery. I have never understood why you all pull up an article and read it word for word. People don't listen to podcast to have an article read to them because they can't read. They listen for analysis and when you take the time to read the entire article, it's like your trying to fill time and does nothing for the podcast in my opinion. In my opinion, if you want to be taken as serious analysts reference the article, put the link in the comment section and then provide analysis and pull out several quotes for your analysis. To read entire paragraphs or multiple paragraphs like that, I have to stop listening. It drives me nuts and again, it's totally fine. You do you. You create your podcast and I'm not suggesting anything other than here's my feedback. I won't stick listen to any analysis delivered this way because I'm so annoyed that you would actually read the entire article and again the energy of reading it and the delivery is slow and dry and I have to turn you off. If that seems harsh good because it's actually trying to make you better not to be a jerk and if you take critical feedback as me being a jerk then you're going to never achieve your potential.
Here's an example if anyone has ever done a presentation, I do them all the time with PowerPoint. You don't read a PowerPoint slide. People can see the slide. Why is what's on the slide important? What does it mean or can we glean from it? The analysis of it. What's the slide saying if you're reading a bullet points on a slide, why did you put the bullet points there? People can just read it, send the PowerPoint out and people can read it. It's the exact same concept.
Your viewership has grown and congratulations to you. For me I can watch about a minute and then you start slowly reading an article and I'm out. I keep taking a quick peek at podcast to see if anything changes but since nothing has I decided to give feedback. one can learn more from the critical feedback (if done respectfully) than those who don't say anything or just say it's all good all the time
Now some people might say "why don't you just fast forward until you all are done reading the article? Because it's simple - if you are reading the article word for word in it's entirety I don't think you have enough to say and not worth time.
The beauty is you get to create what you want and that is all that matters. Do with my feedback what you will. Ponder it or dismiss it I don't care it's not my podcast
AOC is already better than Carr imo. Carr can toss the skin a few yards further down the field but that’s about all he does better than this kid. Curious to see what Carter Bradley turns into too. QB room is good as it can reasonably get at this point. Minshew is the best bench warmer in the league but we got two more guys that could take his job in two years.
Minshew will be the Starter but him or Aidan are not better than every backup in the league thats for sure.

I grew up with the Snake throwing TD’s to guys named Biletnikof, Branch and Casper. Snake was one of the most clutch QB’s of all time, and they were never out of a game until it was over. 2nd favorite was Plunk, Gannon 3rd, then DC4.
Minshew will be the starter period, because minshew will scramble to get extra yards and make plays down the field. AOC is good but he stays in the pocket and doesn’t scramble for yards he a discipline Quarterback he will stay in the pocket but that will be his downfall 😢GO RAIDERS 👍🏾

Carr made the defenses worse by turning the ball over constantly, and Carr holds the worst record in the NFL when his defense allows 21 or less points, meaning he is the worst. He also had a Very solid defense this year and finished 2nd in one of the worst divisions the NFL has seen, Carr always has been and always will be a loser. It is what it is.
