I happen to think that this album, "Notes With Attachments" was one of the most important releases of the year in '21. Just a mammoth collab that flew, unfortunately, under a lot of radars. I can still put it on repeat and smile at every song, every time.
Oh my god Pino, what a legend. What a musician, what a bass player. Such class, simple yet complex. Never too few or too much, just spot on, just no other way to say it. legend. Also what a proyect and what a tune. Love it!
PP inspired me to start playing bass back in 1982 when I heard his playing on Gary Numan's 'I, Assassin' album. I'll never forget trying to learn his licks on that old Aria Pro II fretted bass with the frets knocked out. I suspect I'll never tire of his faultless, innate musicality. Legendary.
This live session is finally getting pressed to vinyl! Pre-Order is up here: insheepsclothinghifi.com/product/pino-palladino-blake-mills-sam-gendel-live-at-sound-city-ep/
He used rounds earlier in his career, but later changed to flats to prevent grooves from getting dug into the board from the rounds. Heard somewhere that he replaced the fretboard on his fretless a few times, and even briefly used a graphite neck.

Sam Gendel is on another level.
ah yeah he is
It’s like his brain is half in another musical plane of existence
Pino with the Fretless and the OC-2... so good knocked my birks off
This is some high quality art right here
I'm a man from Molise. I like the song and I think it captures somehow the essence of my land: slow, a bit "off", but ultimately beautiful. Thanks.
Paesà!
The music you wished was available when the room was a giant stereo system ❤
I listen to everything Sam Gendel records
O yea
This is music that's been hiding in the cracks and crevices, lying dormant, waiting to be conjured. I'm on cloud 9 listening to this music.
Mesmerising. Weird. Wonderful.
Solo Amore ❤
Getting some John Scofield vibes here. Love it 👌
the guitar solo was perfectly suited
the lucky 51000 people ❤

Beautiful. Exciting. Interesting. Speechless.
Interesting use of the Electronic tabla! Great piece!
Need to know more about the composition process for this project. SO inspired. This music is so inspired.
A music TH-camr by the name of Brian Krock has an interview of Pino and Blake on his Patreon page. It's super informative!!

What amp is Blake using? Looks like a head with a graphic eq?
imagine being an effect pedal and having Pino's huge foot come down on you
❤️
Is the white unit at the very start a shruti box or Indian sound module??
i'd say its a drum machine
th-cam.com/video/DDFsP7_ckTs/w-d-xo.html
Il Molise non esiste !?!?!?!?!
what kind of drum machine is that?
Electronic tabla
never knew Thomas Middleditch played sax so well!
this is extremely fucked up, i love it so much
this fucking rips
Honestly gives me fucking Zelda Wind Waker vibes which is a great thing
I always assumed Pino used flat wounds on his fretless - those look like round wounds to me
These are flats.

Wtf just happened
Il molise non esiste
Eppure io ci vivo! Grande Pino Palladino. Spero di incrociarlo in questa regione che reisiste (davvero dura in questi giorni resistere)
Why not a drummer?
why not no drummer?
nice auto-tabla
God, I'm so glad I don't understand art.
