    • ACI Volumetric Test: A...
    Air Content: Volumetric Method
    ACI Technician Workbook CP-1 (14)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    CALIBRATED CUPS
    1 Calibrated Cup = 1 Percent Air
A calibrated cup is used when the water level falls below the neck on the air meter while running the test. If this happens, either the concrete contains a significant amount of air, or your apparatus has leaked during the test.
Add calibrated cups of water to bring the water level up into the neck so its level can be measured. Record the number of cups added, and add to the final air content at the end.
Example: 9% air reading + 2 calibrated cups added during the test = Final reading of 11% air entrainment.
Air Entrainment: Air has been intentionally added to the mix (typically readings above 3%)
Air Entrapment: Naturally occurring air in the concrete mix (typically from 1 to 3%)

First, thank you for posting the video. Some of us have to have ACI though we don't ever touch concrete so nice to have a video to help prepare. BUT, according to ACI, you cannot use the same rod or you will fail that question. Yes, it is that ridiculous.

Every time we go to get certed the proctors say something along the lines of, "The only time you'll ever have to do a rollameter in your life is when you come back for recertification." In reality this is an unnecessary and unreliable test that nobody uses.

@@swiggityswooty9187 You won't be thinking that as soon as they put you on a 300+ yd elevated deck or parking deck extension pour (or anywhere else the EOR specifies lightweight concrete for that matter).......You'll be hating life then.......bring a co-worker along, hee hee.

@@swiggityswooty9187 I placed lightweight concrete on a bridge deck rehab project on Interstate 84 in Pennsylvania, 700 cubic yards, after the concrete pour, the deck was turned into a swimming pool for curing , the deck had to have water over it for 14 days.
